Not a re-spec
Just the ability to forget a trained skill to remove if from the skill-sheet, to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Or put the SPs into a pool which you can use on other skills

Make mine all lvl 5 please so it's even more aesthetically pleasing.
Do you really want to forget a skill so that your skill sheet has some symmetry?

Reducing the cost of a clone would be useful for a cyno-alt, or scout-alt

Do people wear high heels or inject neuro-toxins into their foreheads because it is comfortable?
Proposal has no (real) benefit only cost, so there is no reason not to implement it! Make it so!

A point for this is easy to make:
People want perfectly trained characters
Allowing us to delete useless, or unwanted skills will make character sheets more attractive.
More Characters will then be transferred via the Character Bazaar
Step 4: CCP Profits.
win/win

This has been suggested probably gazillion times. And yeah, i support this idea.
One problem though: What if your account gets hijacked and the hijacker deletes your BS V¦s? Solution: Make it "reverse training". So the same time spent training the unwanted skill must be spend to untrain it. And if the untraining is cancelled during process, no SP will be lost.
Id like to know if CCP has ever commented this "skill deleting"? And how they feel about it.

Utterly pointless idea. Live with the choices you made.

I'll bite, No its not like your attributes, Your attributes being static caused problems for people when they didn't know any better. If you have Frequency Modulation 1 its not hurting you, in fact its not doing a damn thing. Now sure as CCP has said before when this came up, they could do this. Now what this change would do has No positive effects besides tiding up the skill sheet. For LOTS of negatives, hacked character issues, Risk of Bugs wiping more than necessary, General increase in petitions for accidental skill deletion.
you can't put the SP in to a general pool since you'd end up with about 20 pool combinations because otherwise everyone would stack attributes in Say Int/Mem and just delete the skill and put the SP in a slower training one.
So a negligible benefit for a possible massive headache for them. This came up before and was shot down I'd expect this to receive the same attention because nothing has changed.

"When people didn't know any better"
I'm attributing a dirty skill tree, to be the same sort of evil as poor attributes.
And the fact that any and all design changes need to consider the fact that accounts get hacked is preposterous.
Well don't give characters the ability to trade items or send isk, becuase what if their account gets HAXED!!11
the same ways they can revert, or restore items and isk, they can voila skills and anything else in the game.
And as I said above, this would increase character transfers and generate more revenue for the company itself. It's a valid argument.

No, but I suppose if I could get laid for having a symmetrical training sheet, then the idea would get a /signed.

You could just train those nasty skills that are messing up your skills list up to 5 and make it all neat ------------------------------------------------ You either need a punch up the throat or a good shag.
Nobody round here is offering the second one therefore your choices are limited! |

This is an interesting idea especially when you bring up the "pool" idea, this way characters can remove skills without losing the training time and "place" that time into other skills....It could be a once per year thing just like attributes, this way it cant be taken advantage of. There could also be an isk factor in doing this (100 isk per 1 sp) to keep characters from completely rearranging their whole character from a miner heavy character to a smashmouth pvp character and visa versa. So to "rearrange" 1 mill sp's it would cost you a total of 100 million isk and you can only do it once per year and only at a station with a med facility. This is a great idea for those who started their characters and disliked the direction they were headed with it and have a way to offset their error however it will cost them to do so. |

For sure it would be very nice drop some useless skill you have trained in the early days of account. Before you know what you was going to need in future.
But it's true that if you have your password compromised you can lost valuable skills to some idiot who broke you pw.
So i like the idea that have already been depicted here about a way to create a clone with only selected skill subset.

We have a winner!
I would appreciate hiding skills a lot; I've got a ton of Level 0 skills I inject just so I have the option of training them. It doesn't kill me that they're cluttering up my sheet, but a hidden tag would be nice.
