I'd just like empire space fixed with no more isolated 0.1-0.4 systems which are pretty hard to strike And I want scanning capabilities ! Ah... We'll get that. Ok well all good then =)
Dear friendly customer... Can I have your money ?

Wrong, Alliances will go to war and can shoot eachother legally when shiva comes. Pirates, Solo Players, Neutral Corps, etc will however be able to get sec hits for killing alliance players and alliance players for killing neutrals.
Sec Loss however should be less in 0.0 then it is in Empire.
Why should you loose sec at all in 0.0? Unless you are in a system officially claimed by an alliance who has become a member of CONCORD. 0.0 is *lawless* space. Law out there should be enforced by other players and not reliant on CONCORD.
And if sec hits for killing neutrals did come in then 90% of alliance players would be at -10 in a week --------------------------------------------------

Aye, agreed with original poster, this is just nuts. 0.0 space = everything goes, so you can't role play criminal there. Now this whole deal was great when Eve started, but carebears whined and whined, instead of doing something about it, so poor CCP had to invent concordokken and sentry guns and bunch of other crap. Now all those carebears DEMAND that they can travel freely in 0.0 too, well they wont if I can help it --

How about if you kill a player with a positive security rating in 0.0 you get a security hit. If you kill a baddie with a negative rating you get a security boost. If your in an alliance war with the victim it doesn't matter. If someone is in your claimed alliance space (that isn't appart of the alliance) it doesn't matter. All that data should be avaliable, right now most of it gets spat out in the kill mail.

You can't rp a pirate in 0.0 space?
I'd say that would be rather easy, since rp simply is a state of mind, you decide what your character is and then act like it. In the end, sec-status is only a number and won't affect your roleplaying very much.
One easy start, get -10 (which could be done rather fast) and head out into 0.0 then and act like a pirate. This would provide you with the sec-status you are after that seems so important for the rp side. And since you can't have any more neg. sec-rating, does it matter if you are in 0.3 or 0.0 then?
Removing sentry-guns in 0.1-0.4, I don't state any personal opinions here on what should be what, but wouldn't that make it just like 0.0 space then?
And piracy no crime in 0.0? I reckon most alliances would disagree with you on that point. If it's only about rp there are ways around it...
P.s. You don't have to blow up the miner in a belt, you could actually ransom them. If they are caught in a bs they might give up some isk. I highly doubt it get u an income of say 300m/day or something like that, perhaps around 15-20m tops. But in empire I'd say it's a fairly good income if you don't want to do anything else then being a pirate.

If they make it impossible to pirate to pirate in empire i think they will lose alot of subscribers.
There are not as many pirates as there are carebears but still it will make a huge dent in there income.
Now cmon CCP dont even try and do this.

Agreed with Camar, I think there IS piracy in 0.0 inasmuch as player alliances law is substituted to NPC law.
You have no sentries nor CONCORD coming after you, but word goes out on alliance channels that you're on a rampage, and pretty soon you're confronted with a player patrol. Sure, you're not losing any sec, but you're actively hunted by pvp-able players, whereas in empire, you lose sec, but do not have much to fear in the form of player response.
As for rp'ing a pirate in 0.0, why not? You can extract ransom. You can loot your kills. You can steal ships at safespots. You can scam people. It's all there.

Piracy is dead .... CCP should just own up and be honest and disable the option to fire at anyone who isn't .....
A) At war with your Corporation
B) A NPC Player
Too many people went Yap Yap flying Industrials thru low sec space.
Lets change the name to Everquest Eve ...
/me waiting to see how long CCP change Player Built Stations in Exodus to non-destroyable after the bad boys blow up a few. Mongo speaks !!

That¦s not challanging, not funny and doesnt pay ISK. A pirate wants ISK for his dangerous work! So more interesting is to catch traffic with good cargo. Sentry guns make oversized blobpiracy nessesairy at 0.4 gates like Aunenen for example. We did this long ago and we destroyed 500 ships in 3 days in Aunenen. First it was funny, but later it was just a mindless slaugther. We decided a good pirate should hunt the rich and experienced guys - so we went to 0.0 and slaughtered thousands of rich alliance guys, stole their Zydrine and named loot. It¦s challanging due to the fact that some alliances fight really good! Everything is fine, only one thing missing: the sec. hit! I am no pirate in 0.0 - i am only another warrior in my faction. That¦s not the career i want to play. Do pirates have to go to 0.4 belts or gates to toast the EVE-n00bs to be pirates? I am not interested in this - i want to farm rich alliances and experienced players that have billions of ISK. N00b-slaugtering in Aunenen is good for new pirate corps to grow up and get into their role - but where is the place for experienced pirate corps? Should we all join alliances and get faction warriors like m0o did? I really want an answer of a DEV on what we are considered to do in EVE. I know that the "sheeps" pay more $$$ than we 2-3% pirates in the game and that the DEVs have to focus on what the "sheeps" want, but they shouldnt forget what they wrote on the sell package of EVE that i aquired for 59 EURO. There was a lot written about piracy and a outlaw career which i cannot find in the game - i feel betrayed!
About Low sec:
Acctually I think warping around belts and just blow them up isen't much of piracy in thoose areas. To ransom them have the dialog and be able to hunt them down in the first place are pirating in my opinion.
And it's the closest I get of roleplay my pirate part atm imho.
But I can absolutley see your view from your side.

after all this is not worth the convo
im not interested in reading "**** YOU, IM GONNA******YOUR MOM" 10x a day

Piracy is not dead! There are tons of people that pirate - but they do it in 0.0 where they wont get sec. hits. This is the main reason why 0.0 didnt get settled by players. 90% still hang arround in empire because 0.0 is in fact full of not marked pirates! But pirates need a neg. sec. rating - that¦s the definition of a pirate player. What 0.0 pirates do is to kill tons of people in 0.0 and then come back to empire to sell loot or buy new stuff. This is not logical and it is also not good for interaction between the different careers in EVE. Pirates for example should need smugglers that haul stuff to and from empire. Alliances should need pirates for the "dirty work" within their boarders. And so on - sec. hits in 0.0 would fix all the lack of roleplaying this game has. And it would fix the dying pirate career. If they don¦t come we¦ll have a stupid game with Shiva where empire wars will cause a lot of people to leave their alliance and use standings to show allied players.

You should never get sec hits in 0.0.
Your sec status is your standings with concord. There's no concord to be found in 0.0, therefore the 'laws' of concord do not apply. There are no rules to break in 0.0 that would cause a drop in sec status. ---------------------------------- I <3 mining. |

sorry to dissapoint you, but being a pirate is a state of mind and not just down to your sec status, some party`s would argue that there are smart and dumb pirates, i guess the smart pirates keep sec status that actually emables them to enter empire, having a -9.0 sec status simply scares potential targets away,,
just because the current system does not suite your own needs doesnt meean that it is wrong.
being a pirate in empire gets you easier kills but your profit margin drops per kill, pirating in 0.0 can be more profitable but the risk is also greater, you have been around long enough to know how it works, get over it

Piracy at present is dead.
Between 0.4 - 0.1 currently it consists of Ganking people at Stargates / Stations whilst tanking the Sentry Guns. Only on the odd occassion you manage to get someone hunting / mining in Asteroid Belts.
0.0 consists of mainly Insta Bookmarks and Safe Spots.
Unless you have a fleet deploying Warp Disruptor Bubbles or a second tackler / cloaked ship helping, the lone pirate currently hasn't a hope apart from the odd kill.
This is not a career. Ganking ships at startgates in not fun. I would personally prefer to be in an Interceptor shouting "your money or your life".
