I think that was intentional. All the GM's decided it's easier to just take teh server down than replace a whole fleet worth of ships, AGAIN!

I am sorry mate, but.... Using MSSQL for any database over a couple of hundred MBs is asking for trouble. MSSQL is only an old version of Sybase with some GUI eyecandy tacked onto it, don't pretend it's much more than that. For serious SQL stuff, stick to either the original thing (Sybase) or Oracle or something. Not something that is liked more for it's GUI than it's stability...

I believe they use MS SQL 2007 cluster as MySQL cluster is not that hot for this sort of thing. However, Oracle would be a good choice imho.
