you can be shot anywhere, at any time, by anyone. the risk is greater for nobody. whether or not some one chooses to shoot you is all down to you. evidently you didn't try hard enough to deter people from shooting you.
in fact; why do you feel that you should be safe to begin with? |

I'll give this one more shot. I'm not near as persistent as Dave.
Well, maybe the first lesson you should have learned is "High Sec != safe". It's a well known EvE fact. There are usually way too many people coming and going.
If you want to reduce your chance of gankage, then you need to find a less traveled back end system. Once in that system, find a good belt that allows you to get a reliable directional scan on anyone entering. Someone enters local hit your d-scan, if you see destroyer safe up. If you see anything expensive, chances are you're safe, but be ready.
Other tools at your disposal? Check the website http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ and you can see what sort of gankage activity is going on in your system, or systems around it. It may help you identify regular gankers in the area who you can add your contacts and set them red so if they enter your system, it'll help you be prepared.
Or, take the offensive. Get in your own destroyer and start hunting other destroyers. Anytime I see a destroyer in high-sec, my assumption is they are hunting for easy prey. Suicide into them and laugh at them in local or whatever you want.
The world is open for you to do anything you like. If you like mining, then mine. But do it smart. Make a game plan, a backup plan, actually play the game instead of mindless going to an asteroid belt and pushing your function keys.
The whole premise of EvE is that you aren't safe anywhere and if you want to make it you'll have to use your head a bit and get creative. |

obviously your big battles of thousands of players are delivering so much that the population doubled since my last post. peak times often hit well over 45,000 players online. I have often seen over 50,000 players online. often when these big battles happen friends are calling each other telling them to get on we need you. I an sure if you check furring one of these 2-3,000 player battles you will see a spick in the number of online players. I recall noticing once the number of online players was at about 56,000 and then later realized there was a hugh battle I missed. Maybe you just play at the wrong time. |

Yep, which is why guys like Dave sought out a corp soon after playing. But is it a surprise to you that it's easier if you make friends?
Some of the biggest carebears live in null. Lord Veldspar himself even operated a station in null until Dave's alliance got space jelly (because he alone is cooler then their entire alliance) and took it from him . Such is the way things go in EvE, and we wouldn't want it any different. |

what's backward about it? you didn't prepare for the situation and you failed horribly at whatever it was you were trying to do. sounds pretty standard to me. |

you don't see how much effort goes in to securing our areas of space in comparison to your "i did nothing and i got concord being my bff"?
we deserve the security because we've made it secure. why do you even deserve concord? |

this makes 0.5 the true null sec. and all the time the newer player falls for this trap.
and all the while you guys are laughing as people get griefed out of your game.
the guy who shot you still lost his ship, concord blew him up. not his fault your failfit ship couldn't stand more than 2 volleys from his ship.
if that was nullsec he would still have his ship and be laughing even harder at you. infact, if it was anywhere below 0.5 space he'd be doing that. |

If high sec mining is so dangerous, why not mine in low sec or null?
Oh, because that's more effort and you might be required to fight/lose ships? Working as intended I guess.

all because it was really hard for you, or it wasnt, but it could have been. Concord is there to provide consequences, not protection.
HS is still safer than Null. In Null, anyone will; shoot you.
In HS, anyone can shoot you, but most don't want to waste money on it.
Many, including myself, mine in .5 systems without a problem. Have you ever considered that the problem may be you and not the game (of course not... that woudl be silly)? |

And if someone got your pod, it is your own fault. The only reason to ever lose a pod in HS is lag. Otherwise it is user error. |

npcs don't pod people. and if you were paying attention to what was going on you wouldn't have lost your pod as we've already said. you lost your pod to your own inability to press "warp".
where are you getting this spoonfed from nullsec corp crap from? i know you love saying it but it seems to have slipped my attention as to where you got it from. unless you've got that weird fetish where you like women to put you in a nappy and bottle feed you and such like.... not that i'm judging. |
