I am FREAKIN disappointed with this move.
Let me put it this way:
I work.
I have 3 hours a day I can put into games / recreation / movies.
I have put YEARS into Eve already.
I also play other games (World of Tanks, Borderlands 2 and SWToR)
So pray tell, why the FRICKING HELL would i go out and buy any console, just to play ONE GAME ON IT.
I have a pc. It does all my game stuff AND WORK.....
I dont need to spend more money on it....it plays everything I want (and more)
I dont have a magic wand to CREATE more time in my day.
Anyone else have the same RL situation?
Of course, if you are a kid and your parents buy your toys, or if you work an easy job and have 10 hours a day free, or whatever reason, I wont hold it against you, by all means i encourage more use of the internet for gaming!
I simply wont be adding to your gaming experience (by adding another player to the mix, another resource to exploit while you play, another player for you to frag.... I am good canon fodder it seems.)
All you will be playing with is other PS3 users?
So...... 25 people?

Now, back to my pc.

Yeah, call me a sucker. Bought a PS3 on the way to work this morning, just finished setting it up and buying the Beta/Merc Pack.  Big snow storm rolling in tomorrow night, so I guess I'll be trying out DUST this weekend. 
And just to save face, I didn't buy it just for DUST: I really want to get into CoD. :)

Yep. Installing the beta right now, actually... still don't know how my EVE subscription gets me access to the beta though. Anyway, it only cost me $200AU because I got it preowned, but the morons who packaged it for delivery included two controller cables instead of one controller cable and a HDMI cable. Called them up to correct the error, but I only have on TV so switching the HDMI cable on my 360 back and forth to use the two devices is sufficient for now.

Haaaa, you see. You will be glad ... afterall PS can be used in a lot of ways and not only for DUST.
Have PS3 for years, closed beta key for months, downloaded patch 2.6GB yesterday ... didn't try yet. Maybe my kid will ... ummm , yes he will 100%

Spent the last few days working with the PS3, and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Not in DUST (although some stuff is Eve-similar, a larger degree is completely new and, well, undocumented), but in the PS3. Single thing I REALLY hate about the PS3 is that I have to use TWO difference headsets on this thing: one for in-game chat/chatter/communications (USB), and a different one entirely for listening to DVD/BluRay stuff. Really poor implementation on Sony's part. Honestly, this might be a make-it-or-break-it for me personally, and strictly because of the console chosen. XBox is much more the "all-in-one" console/media center device, and PS3 just ain't it.
And no, I won't buy a PS4 when it comes out because I just forked out for the PS3.

There are also a lot of people who buy a console and play games on it because we can not afford a computer to play games on. A gaming computer can be quite expensive, while a console costs about the same as a part for a PC.
There is a large market out there of people not on the PC. They are already marketing to those on PC, and now they are opening to a new market. It is pretty easy stuff to understand really. |

I also went and picked up a cheap $10 mouse and keyboard too. It's working quite nicely as a sniper.

love your sig. troll. when and if i decide to play again it will be with the same old office cherry mechanical keyboard and microsoft 1.1 optical replaced a few times because i screw up the mouse wheel. they are perfect, you can't improve on them for what i want. i just ordered a kana because i'm down to my last 3 new mice and can't source any other good mice :) zero accel no ****, it works outa the box. always did. i'm betting this new steelseries has bugs i will find.
sadly the people at ccp china cant and couldnt make it work. and yes i bought a ps3 to play dust on.
