So everyone in Europe is paying 15euros while everyone in america is paying $15.
Convert both these to pounds sterling (where I live, UK) and its ú12,50 (ish) for euro people and ú10 for US people. Why is this so?
Do I have to move to get my american friends to buy me gametime and then buy it off them or what?

Well, dont you worry about that. With the direction the Euro is heading, it may very well be worth less than the American Dollar in a few more months. Then you can thank CCP for letting you pay less than those in the USA.

well in WoW (lol) the prices when converted to ú are nearly exactly the same.
It cant just be sheer greed, there must be a real reason to why we have to pay more than Us people.

Because the Euro's value changes so much they can't be bothered to keep adjusting it.
They probably set that amount one day when it had parity with the US dollar, tried to keep track of it as it danced around for awhile, then just said "You know what? **** you Euro".

When I started playing Eve everyone paid USD. CCP changed it somewhere down the line, something about Euro rules... Steam too, changed to Euro. But Steam's prices are regulated by the developers who care, so that can't really be compared.
So, I guess, CCP doesn't care? :P

So you are saying socialism and taxation dictate what currency we can use to pay our subscription?
This has to do with socialism and taxation is all about the superiority of europe, we are just better then the rest of the world. The founders of EVE are just player haters, face it they love the game but hate the players. And the europeans are the best players, we keep doing the dirty spidermonkey on the girlfriends and wives of the developers, and they do really hate us. Why do you think Eyjafjallajokul is erupting?, it's all the build up sexual frustration of the EVE developer team...
I hope this makes as much sense as 'obnoxious socialism and the effect it has on taxation' in relation to EVE.

To be honest there are not many places more broke than the U.S, its just the U.S hasn't realised how broke it is. Anyway in comparisson to how uk gamers used to be ripped of over here (direct $-ú price conversion) this is small fry.

CCP and all the other companies in the business pretty much follow the same pattern... Apple also is no different. In some instances there are noticable price differences on products in Europe and US. Funny thing, this economy.

Europe's high taxes create a "perceived value" of the Euro which is much less than it's actually worth.
If you pay $1 for bread, $15/month seems reasonable
If you pay $4 for bread, $60/month seems reasonable.
Let's face it.
Ppl who pay %55 taxes are already used to feeling violated. They're desensitized to being ripped off. So companies join in ripping them off further by charging them more.

Then again the broke people of Europe can afford a computer and to be on the internet, while the broke people of the US have 5 jobs and/or live in a box and has no internet access.

When i created a thread just like this, about a year ago, when the US/Euro rate was 1.4305 i got flamed.
Ever since i stoped paying with euros, but i have friends in the states.
