Hello!
Just a little fit I want to test, but need your advices/suggestions about. I'm at the crossroad where I can train both Large Beams or Pulse Specialisation. I think I'll train both anyway, but I want to start using my new tools ASAP, therefore I need your help to choose one them.
On my right, BEAMS, long range, bad tracking and RoF but great damage multpliers. On my left, PULSES, short range, good tracking and RoF, less damage.
I have tested many different fits so far with tech I stuff. Here are my 2 ideas of fitt when I've finished training all needed skills :
---PULSE FITT--- HIGH - 5 Dual Heavy PULSE II or Mega PULSE II - 3 Heavy NOS II
MED -1 100 MN AB II -1 Target Painter II -2 eutectic i capacitor charge array (can't afford capa II I suppose)
Low -2 large 'reprieve' vestment reconstructer ii -1 capacitor flux coil ii -2 tracking enhancer ii -1 1600mm reinforced rolled tungsten plates i -1 energized adaptive nano membrane ii Site ICE is coming to EveÖ since 713151 AD Image oversized, please take a look at the forum rules - Laqum |

Edited by: Sybylle on 06/12/2005 15:19:12 ---BEAM FITT--- HIGH - 6 tachyon beam laser ii or mega beam laser ii - 2 siege missile launcher i
MED -2 sensor booster ii -2 eutectic i capacitor charge array
Low -1 large 'reprieve' vestment reconstructer ii -1 capacitor flux coil ii -3 tracking enhancer ii - 2 tracking enhancer ii
I don't really now how much cost these two fitts, wether it's possible or not to fit everything, but they seem to quite fun to play with ^^ All ships have Radio/X-ray/Gamma/Multi cristal, along with drones.

Hi, I'm here because I need some help to fit my Apocalypse with a full tank armor in order to tank the first room of an Angel complex (10/10) while my mate blow NPC. Thus, I would need a fit to tank about 10BS for few minutes . I can fit t2 and I prefer to don't afford faction items

Post RMR, this setup is an excellent alternative for old blasterthron pilots who have felt the nerfs in RMR. I personally find it to be the most fun setup to use in PVP.
7x Dual Heavy Pulse 1x Heavy Nosferatu
1x 100mn MWD 1x 20k scram (Need to have a good named) 1x The best webber you have 1x Heavy Cap Injector
2x 1600 Reinforced Steel Plates II 2x Energized Adaptive Nano Plating II 1x The best damage control you can get (RMR dmg controls pwn) 1x Large Armor Repairer II 1x Medium Armor Repairer II (With adv weapon upgrades trained go with 2 Large 'Accomodation'
Fill your drone bay with medium drones, as they are more effecive on frigates in RMR versus the useless heavies.
This setup handles all sizes of ships quite well, deadly on Heavy Assault Cruiers. Vitalii > i harass people |

I cant keep the guns and reps going forever with that setup. I tried it on sisi and decided to go with a web and a scram, ditching a cap II and changed one of the lrg reps to a med t2. As for my setup, which you seem to really dislike, I hope you get a chance to try it out...great fun and very effective hac killer. Vitalii > i harass people |

Okay I have a nice NPC setup that won't break the bank. High: 5 x tach I 1 x light missle launcher (named if possible) 2 x named NOS
Med: 2 x cap recharger II (or named, reg's prob won't cut it but you may be able to get away with it by going into defensive mode and not firing anymore for a bit) 1 x target painter II 1 x ab II (could prob use another cap rech or heat sink or something but I like having a little extra speed)
Low: 1600mm tungsten or nano (I like the extra breathing room - over 10k hitpoints on armor) 2 x cap relays 1 x active thermal hardener 1 x active em hardener 1 x large armor rep (named or tech II would really be best) 1 x med tech II (still gives good repair but helps with cap)
MUST have drones. I like to mix between the three sizes. Don't carry only what you can use. I can launch 8 at the moment but I carry 11 (by mixing sizes) in case I lose a couple.
With this setup I let a dual bs spawn, one with heavy missles, and a couple of cruisers and frigs bombard me and they couldnt even dent the armor.

Mega Beam Lasers are alright, but cruise launchers on an apoc are rather useless now, as their effect on frigates and cruisers is practically non existant. The only reason people would use missiles on an apoc pre patch was to one shot pwn frigates and do nice damage as well. You would be best with 7x mega beam lasers, a heavy nos, then whatever else you so desire to fit in the lows and mids (i e tank, gank, snipe)
My favorite sniper apoc setup is 7x mega beams, 1x medium energy neut, 2x sensor booster II, 2x tracking computer II, 4x heat sink II,an RCU II, and 2x tracking enhancer II. Lets me hit at 150k+ easy.
Good luck Vitalii > i harass people |

Edited by: Constantinee on 14/12/2005 02:36:11 i hunt sanshas and most of the time i get some pretty tough spawns where i am so i use
6x mega pulse I's (radio for long range , xray at med and multifrequency at short),1 heavy nos, 1 cruise launcher (all types of missles) 4 cap recharger II's 1xem hardener 2x thermal hardener large armor rep and a nanoeletrical co unit
plus have as many heavy drones as you can to take out any frigs the cruise missles help but i use it so i can dish out a little extra damage to the dark lords
also use the 8 mega pulses but i wouldent recommend it if you need to tank it will drain the cap to fast

that lot wont fit, oh and in RMR the stacking penaltys are different so having more than 3 of the same module wont work so well.

6x Tachyons beam lasers (t1 or t2 depending on skills) 2x Medium pulse II
1x cap booster 800 2x sensor booster II 1x Webifier
2x large reppers (named or t2) 3x hardeners 2x reactor control units
You can hit many things at long range and do some damage. If a small frigate or cruiser comes to hit you u can kill him with ur low guns and webifier.
Also have 5 light drones in bay and 5 mediums which also helps kill cruisers, AF and stuff like that.
That's the setup I like and it hasn't failed me yet.

hi guys, ive recently got myself an apoc. looking at all these setups gives me the impression that you have to be insanley rich to fit these setups. i have no problems with the mega pulses and what not, but 4X cap recharger 2s?? their selling for 25mil a piece? will 4X cap recharger 1s do? I like to sit there, tank their shots and then blast them to tiny pieces. So an affordable setup wold be much appreciated :) this is for npc btw

Edited by: Bubba1977 on 29/12/2005 01:59:58 For effect NPC hunting with an Apoc, you need to maintain your range. The key to this is via the use of a MWD. Pick up a core x-type for 50mil or so and you're set.
1 tachyon 2 5 mega pulse 2s 2 assault missle launchers with defenders/light missles
1 core x-type mwd 1 sensor booster 2 1 shadow serp tracking computer (or best you can afford) 1 tech 2 cap recharger (or eutectic)
1 large armor rep 2 1 therm hardener 2 2 heat sink 2s 3 cprs
If used properly, you'll hardly take any damage. Your range with microwave crystals is 97km; radios 112km. With the mwd you'll maitain these ranges vs just about any spawn. Warp in at 100km and fire away.
Edit: This is with loads of lvl 5 skills.

Duh..... maintaining range?
excuse my little bit of hating, but....beams suck at tracking, suck at damage, and suck at fitting. Tachyons suck less at damage, more at tracking, and even more at your fitting.
Don't get me wrong, beams are great for sniping. But sniping is a really boring, slow, and stoooopid way to go if you're npcing. Only snipe when you absolutely have to.
Apoc is teh tank beast. If it spawns in a belt, you can tank it (exceptions on spawns whose loot is worth more than your ship). Pulses are your friend. Heavy Nos' are also your friend, as they make frigs and cruisers die quicker, which can speed warp out when scrambled and facing one of those afore-mentioned spawns who could take some sniping....
And so.....
7x Mega Pulse (II or named, whatever your wallet fancies) 1x Heavy Nos (named are good)
1x AB (some npc don't like youre 20km range) 3x Cap Rech (II are good....)
2x LAR II 1x EM Hard 1x Therm Hard 2x CPR 1x HS II
Medium Drones 4tw
I really liked that cap booster setup with Dual Pulses that was posted earlier. Look forward to trying it someday.
Apoc's a great ship with pulses, and alright with beams. IMO geddon does better on the sniping stuff, but that's just me. I spent many months ratting away in an apoc......
I've since abandoned the ship since I discovered it's more fun killing the NPC BS in <30 seconds. Apoc takes like 2 minutes. |

Maintaining range = safety. Sure you can tank and fight up close with pulses, but why risk it? Faster is not always better...and if you do happen to run into that uber spawn, you can take em out...if you're setup for close range combat, you can't. __________________________________________________

Problem with Amarr mostly is they need max skills to really be good.
If u want to NPC take the setup i made in forums put tech1 guns and it will work fine.

Well if u want a cheap setup that you can fly with minimal skills, then the best way to go is with mega beams. Fit as many as you can then slap on a mwd, sensor booster, and a tracking computer. Fill the remaining slots with cap recharge mods, 1 large armor rep, and 1 heat sink. Use 6 or 7 cap recharge mods since you're going to need to run that mwd quite a bit. Maintain your range and be ready to warp out. __________________________________________________
