I got out of 0.0 and into hisec in my mining fit Domi only to be caught by a wartarget in an inty. It was the first time I'd been in a war and it hadn't occurred to me that I might be targeted in hisec and should refit my ship. I was scrammed and webbed. And me having zero PVP experience panicked. The pilot kited me, killing all my drones and eventually my ship (cappped out trying to warp and couldn't rep the damage I was taking quickly enough). I learned a few very useful lessons about EVE that day. I.D.

Got pointed by an Arazu at 56km when they flew in. Didn't pay attention to local, so also not at my directional.

Maluminse Caldari Rock Bottom Industries	Posted - 2010.07.06 16:16:00 - [7] Lost a Drake to a dude in what I think was a vastly smaller ship after he scrammed/webbed me and turned on his AB and kited me. I don't even think I touched him. The only good thing was that we had a friendly chat for the 10-15 minutes it took him to kill me. I was so embarassed I didn't even beg for him to ask for a ransom. He let me come back and get my wrecked belongings. Also, I lost my Manticore after attacking some guy near a stargate that had SGs. Not sure if the torps hit before I popped. Actually, I think every loss of mine has been an embarassing one. I'm trying to get better at pew pew but it's a slow go.

Well, he was aligned out to leave the mission, and the Proteus (I think) was at 70km just sitting there, so he decides to take a pot shot at him before leaving while he (the T3) is too far out of range to do anything about it. So he fires, then goes to warp out. Lo and behold, the T3 has a 70km point - 5 minutes of waiting for the Proteus to get in range, then another few minutes for it to kill him, all while I'm listening in on vent. Again, it's not all that uncommon for inexperienced mission runners to fall into this type of trap - my corpmate knows this very well, as he does this type of thing to mission runners all the time, and should really have known better than to fall for it himself. And, since he forum stalks my posts, it's a matter of time before he gives me **** for sharing this story... ---------------------------------------------- I don't have an alt, but there's a main that would be upset if he heard me say that...

I didn't target the raven I had locked the station and went to town.. looking back I still get a laugh and make sure it doesn't happen again

Finally got about 100,000 m3 worth and ready to head to Jita to unload and get some new shinies. Had about 10 jumps left and was time for a work meeting, hmm, I'll hit auto pilot and when I get out of the meeting I'll be in Jita....Sure enough, i was in Jita, but in my pod! Guessing between the ship and loot, was close to a billion isk at the time.

AC Brutix of DOOM Long story short; it was "cleaning day" in the hanger and I had all this stuff lying around. Specifically, I had quite a few auto-cannon/artillery stuff. I also had a "spare" Brutix whose insurance was running out. In a moment of temporary insanity I openly exclaimed, "Why the hell not?" It wasn't much of a loss ISK-wise, however the guys I fly with gave me a ton of **** and still poke fun at me from time to time. At the end of day, I regret nothing. Lost a deadspace fit stealth bomber I used to grind sec status up when I warped at 70 not realizing some one warping to 0 from the same point will turn off your cloak. Lost a rook to 2 battleships and 2 battle cruisers because I thought I could jam them all out. Tried warping to 30 using the center of a bubble as the point of reference. Lost another stealth bomber this way. Lost a dramiel to a taranis by not realizing I had a station in my orbit path. Lost a stealth bomber for damping a neutral outside station that I thought was shooting us, he wasn't. Station guns popped me. I was the only loss all night.

I'm the curious type, so always check out random cans to see what is in them. I see a little bit of nox. Nothing much. I steal it anyway (bad habit...). Most embarrassing bits: 1. Didn't bother to check what was around me. Notably the dramiel sitting right off the can. 2. Forgot that I was warped stabbed. 3. I only tried to WMD away (scram shut it off) and didn't try to warp... So I just sat there for a little bit and died. One of the guys corpmates mailed me asking if his buddy forged the killmail as surely no one could be that stupid? I am normally a much better thief, I swear!

It was a long drawn out missions and I had been drilling them the whole time to watch for scramble drones. Then on the last wave I was getting impatient and overconfident. The battleships that spawned were tearing through my tanks quicker. I also noticed there were scramble drones in there. So, Ignoring all of the advice I had ben drilling into my corp mates for the last 2 hours I didnt immediately target the scramble frig and instead decided I should finish off the other frig that was only webbing me. I got the drone I was aiming for and almost got that second drone but alas those battleships fniished me off. We were roaming through Providence hunting down pirates. We had been at it for like three hours and never really caught up to anyone. On the way back we found a target sitting just off the gate. I locked as fast as i could and fired. I was in a .4 system and there were SG's... I was only in a Cormorant but I felt stupid. Full rack of T2 heavies in the highs, cargo bay full of faction/T2 ammo. I was travelling back from Jita and on the way I was trying to find the best setup so I could click the modules quickly (not a fan of hot keys at that time!). Long story short while the HMLs were active I thought to myself, "What's that ship next to the gate?" It was a Concord Commander, I was obviously in empire, the Cerb spewed missiles very quickly. I'll let you guess the rest.

Caught up with him after few jumps, started killing. As he's about to enter hull, a rupture, a thorax, a vexor and an ishkur land. I'm half armor with the sentries on me and not like maelstrom needs cap to shoot back and there are too many of them to neut all the tackle away... I lose a 2.5b worth ship to 3 cruisers and an ishkur. Rupture even had t1 guns. Felt funny. Now this didn't happen to me, but it's the most awesome loss I ever heared of. So this guy catches an orca in a wormhole with his loki. Loki is kinda terribadly fit, which will become important a bit later. Orca, seeing he's without a way out, offers 1 billion isk to be let go. The loki says no and keeps killing him. Now orca realizes he's got a nighthawk in ship bay. He drops the nighthawk, boards it (loki didn't lock it in time or something) - then proceeds to pop the loki with some 4-5 volleys of scourges since loki's tank consists of eanm and rep. It was quite a while back when t3 cost much more than they do now, too.

I was so excited to get my first PVP kill I re-thought my plan of being the ultimate mission runner. I ask around what the fastest tech 2 ship I could get into was, and I am told "an assault frigate". I get no further guidance at the time and a few weeks later I have assault frigate 3 and tech 2 rockets. The second rocket specialization 1 finished I am headed to Jita and fitting out my brand new Hawk, then heading up to the low-sec leading to vale of the silent. I sit on one of the gates for about 5 minutes when a shuttle lands on the gate at 15km, and I immediately think I can OWN HIM. I do in fact own him hard, but almost immediately I am down to like half shields and I panic and I think "IF HE THINKS HE CAN TAKE ME DOWN HE IS COMING TO HELL WITH ME" and instead of warping out I fire one more volleyTM and die right as he dies as well. We both warp off in our pods and I put a "damn, that was a really close fight" in local. He sends me a mail a minute later telling me what a jerk I am for suiciding hawks just to grief shuttles and I am like "lol? That was a really good fight bro" and that is the day I learned what a gate gun was. I thought he just had a really, REALLY well fit shuttle. -1 hawk, with the state of rockets now though good riddance.

I really had no knowledge of PvP, Gate guns or sovereign space. I run Minny Missions, and I do not turn down the ones where you need to kill Amarr or Caldari. With some of my fat mission running Iskies I treated myself to a set of +4 imps, best price was in Jita... So, I decided to fly out there in my uber pimped-out Fleet Tempest to pick them up. As soon as I hit caldari space...POP! Also, not funny, but tragic. I was pointed and 3x webbed in worlds collide LV4, you know the room. Lost Pimped out Mach, about 1.5 billion. Fell asleep doing LV4 'The Assault", lost another Mach. Now I mission in a Mael, no more expensive trophy ships for me! Die.

They were jumping through low sec pretty fast at irregular intervals, so I was using the map statistics to help keep track of them, yellow and red dots wherever there are lots of pilots. I had a novice fleet mate in a stabber catch up to them and try to draw out some frigates from the pack around the gate. By this time, I was in a feeding-frenzy from lack of aggression and had vowed to shoot the next target that came within range; as I jumped into system with them I still had the map stats up, and fired on an ishkur....only to be blown up by Concord, my scout had neglected to tell me we had jumped through to hisec and I couldn't tell because of the map statistics. So there I was in my pod, folly on full display to a fleet full of newbs! Talk about embarrassing....

I died before killing my Iteron Mark V target... I was in a Cane fit with RR, and there was a neutral Merlin with heavy armor damage. I thought, "Hey, I should rep this guy for some unexplainable reason." As soon as I do, he suicides himself on something and I get CONCORDed for repping him. I decided that it would be a good idea to go lowsec hunting in a 60mil deadspace-fit Wolf. After feeling all chuffed about a Rifter kill, I engaged a Rupture. Two neuts + Light ECM drones = dead Wolf, 60mil down the drain.

Every bastard had 3000 sensor boosters on so to get lock properly, seeing no immediate threat i put a sensor booster on the nh. Then all of a sudden a CTA occurs with no time for a refit (probably should have logged but i was being a good ickle soldier) and we end up in this 250 man fleet fight. Let's just say that missing hardener would have gone down a treat over that damn sensor booster, I just missed out on getting back through the gate after de-aggroing EVE Trivia EVE History

I routinely load ammo in my guns at the fitting screen...and forget to put extra ammo in my hold. Interesting feeling, sitting there dying to a week old person in a T1 fit frig, because youre too dumb to bring extra boolits. Lost one a few days ago, 1v1 vs another rifter. I saw an armor repper and naively expected it was a standard fit. Never checked my speed. Never looked at overview. Turns out it was cap booster fit, me (and my 8k with fusion falloff, and being faster, in a shield rifter) could have simply opened range and won at any time. Havent lost anything super expensive yet, so I am sure they will get better (Ie, more embarassing) as time goes on. Space is fun!

Annoyingly the place was cleaned out 2 hours after the fuel ran out, and that was only the third time we had seen other people in our system for the whole 6 months. If you guys remember when you are new and flying frigates and cruisers for a month or two while bunch of people are flying around in battleships you feel, you know small... anyhow, as I was feeling completely invincible in my Megathron, a seasoned corpmate asked if anyone wanted to join their gang to do a lvl4 mission. I offered assistance, but they were more interested in getting corp mates running a mission together. Basically nobody needed my help but i went anyways, got in fleet, warped to them, went thru the acceleration gate, told the other 2 corp mates in fleet not worry that i will tank them all in my megathron (my exact words)and died horribly about 2 minutes after... It really does not get any more embarrassing than that. Edit: Pvp loss would be a 550mil Iteron markIII loss to a gate camp in catch. What makes it embarrassing is that i wasnt looking at the intel channels, i was not using a scout al lthough it was avalible to me as my own alt, and was offered by alliance mates... I also had cloak that I didint think of using because i was too busy cussing at my luck...

We were chasing some reds around and managed to catch a one on a gate. I went for the tackle, got the Concord notice, dismissed it, tackled the red. Red died about 30 seconds later. Noticed some of fleet mates were being shot by these bright yellow beams from near the gate. I figured, "Huh, well, they're not shooting me, so I guess I'm okay." Puttered over to the wreck with the intention of looting it. Ten seconds later, there's a bright yellow flash and my shields are gone and my armor's melting. I have just enough time to go erp before there's a second flash and I'm sitting in a pod. And that's how I learned how gate guns work.

He was casually taking out the guns one at a time.He'd fire with his turrets at one gun and set his drones on another. I was the only one online in my corp at this point so I had no clue what to do. I decided that since there was no way in hell I could take the Moros down I would attempt to kill his drones instead so it would cost him at least a little more cash than it would in ammo anyway. (Orge II's so it would've cost him a few mil) I warp out to a planet, cloak on the way, then warp back to outside our POS, line up on his drones that were orbitting one of our guns and with a celestial behind it, uncloak, drop bomb, warp to celestial. Unfortunately, and I should have seen this coming, it did nothing at all. So I warp back into the POS and just watch as more of our guns fall to his. Then he starts getting refueled by a Prowler... Now that's something I can shoot! So I do the same warping business and try to catch the prowler with a few bombs to no avail. He was too fast at aligning to get with bombs. So I thought I'd be cheeky. I set orbit around the Moros (cloaked, obviously) waiting for the prowler to uncloak to give more Stront to the dread. He did, I uncloaked, pointed, and took it out right under the dread's nose. Prowler KM I was well chuffed with the kill. I smacked a bit in local, as you do, and felt good about myself. I got myself back in our POS and clicked toward the corp hangar to reload on bombs and torps incase he bought another and tried the same thing. I also get a mail from a dude not in our Alliance asking what was going on. So I type away. I'm half way through the mail- BOOM. I'm in my pod... I had manually clicked toward the corp hangar by habit and not realised. I'd been too engrossed in the mail to see that I had flown right passed the hangar and out the other side of the force field. I congratulated the dread pilot on his lucky kill because of my stupidity. He, however, informed me that he had done nothing and was laughing incontrollably... I checked the killmail and almost fell off my chair in hysterics. My own POS had killed me due to 'attack on aggression' being turned on and my bombs on his drones hitting our guns too. Ridiculous KM This killmail still sends me in to fits of giggles.

I set him to "terrible" standing so his ship will stand out if he comes to my happy mining spot to cause trouble. At that point I start to remember a YouTube video I saw where a Hulk kills an un-suspecting would-be ganker by fitting his Hulk with a point, web, etc. This can flipper is only days old and is flying an Iteron mark I. So I decide I'm going to teach him a lesson and be the hero of the day. So, being the PVP prodigy that i am, I fit my Hulk with a T1 web and scram and some T1 Hobgoblins (remember, I'm a pvp god), and set out to bait this menace and make short work of him. First I get a cargo full of Plagioclase and jetcan. Bait set. He's as good as dead. It takes a while, but Mr. Can Flipper shows up in my belt and I see the distance closing. His tactic is to align to the station, and just before he hits warp, he takes the loot. He did exactly that and I wasn't able to lock him in time...hard earned ore gone! But lesson learned. So I deploy another trap and he comes back to try his luck again, after the 15 minutes aggro timer is up. This time I'm ready. I'm literally shaking from the anticipation of what will undoubtedly be my first pvp kill, in a Hulk none-the-less! So he starts closing the distance again, and I target his Itty and deploy my drones. As soon as he gets within 2500m of my can I hit him with scram and web and a flock of Hob 1's. In hind sight I prolly should've read that warning pop-up a little better, as my Hulk was CONCORDED back into the space dust from which it was created. If I would've read the pop-up, he surely would've gotten away (which he did anyway). So that's how I learned how to lose a Hulk in less than 5 seconds to an Itty Mark I. The can flipper was nice enough to let everyone else in system know of my stupidity simply by asking in local "someone lose a Hulk?". F***er!!!

It wasn't long before I realized it was just the two BCs against me. And my shields were holding above 60%. The gate guns instapopped the inties, and made the other BC run off. I solo'd the BC that had aggro'd on me, along with some help from the lovely gate guns. Remember kids, warp scramming the stargates is bad! It didn't cost me a ship, but it's worth an honorable mention: We were convoying up to null through Gallente lowsec; I was in a Drake, I think there was maybe half a dozen others. We come up on this lone red Domi just sitting at a gate. FC orders us to shoot him. Well, of course, it's a tarp. He lights a cyno and five seconds later someone's just Titan-bridged a battleship fleet on top of us. Fortunately, they either didn't bring a bubbler or their bubbler screwed up. And flying a Drake, naturally, I wasn't called primary. But I was expecting to be tackled and killed, and I wanted to go down fighting, so I turned on all my missile launchers and ctrl-clicked the overview...and managed to click the gate. Now I'm in a Drake and I'm aligning for warp already, so no big deal, right? The survivors from my fleet regroup, wait out our aggro, and retreat back to highsec, intending to find another route to our destination. Unfortunately, thanks to a month of Caldari mission running (), my standings with the Gallente had been -4.96 or something. Shooting a Gallente stargate pushed it below -5. Soon as I hit highsec I get "Danny Lonnegan, blah blah criminal, blah blah prepare to die," and I just barely panic warp out of there before getting scrammed and popped by the Gallente navy.

Anyway I'd put them in and went out one night had some success managed to slip out of a gatefight while barely into structure then went off to bed. The next day I log on for an unusual (for me) time on the EU time period, Now at that time there was a certain blue pilot who'd been terrorizing a lot of the RVB newbies using nanofit faction ships and a hit and run insta pop frigs tactic. Now I had just gotten done posting a long rant on the RVB boards about protecting pods in high sec since no podding rule or no no podding rule accidents do happen and I personally think that one should practice like you fight so you don't do something lazy and sloppy when it matters. Anyway so this former blue had went rogue a couple days earlier going on a emo pod killing spree which was part of what had prompted my primer on not losing your pod in the first place, After we'd kicked him he then turned around and wardecced us so he could continue his fun. So here I am with a brand new shinny set of 2bil isk implants in my head and I'd decided earlier that I was good enough to protect them so screw it lets go. I undock and instantly alarm claxons go off denoting no armor and low structure. Oh no this isn't good. Instead of picking my insta and getting out I think "ok I'll just wait out the timer and redock" Unfortunately a sensor boosted cynibal has a very fast lock time poof ships gone then instead of spamming warp to a celestial I'm still pounding the dock button and the session change timer prevents me from docking up long enough for my pod to pop. At first I'm thinking wow lost that ship as I'm staring at a pod in the hanger, then it dawns on me that this hanger bay is awfully bright and I realize that instead of docking my pod I was back in my medical clone. Smooth move Mr lecture everyone else on how to keep your pod safe.

So I rush to scramble him, then turn of my MWD when starting to orbit thinking he won't be able to hit me and start yelling at guys on the gate to come kill him. Next thing I know I'm in structure! Turn on the MWD, but by then its too late. It was quite embarrassing trying to answer all the "How did he manage to hit you?" questions on Vent.

So I went out for a test run, Retriever was my first target, perfect. There were some concord in the belt from a previous suicide but they were 30km away nothing to worry about. Flip the can and the retriever locks me up and attacks with drones, I point him and kill his drones with my 'smart'bombs. The wear down of his shields was taking longer than I thought, and he managed to get me into smartbomb range of concord. One laughing fit, and a congrats later says I'll not do that again. Well somebody had been there before and botched the kills, so there were 2 or 3 waves of ships, mostly cruisers and frigs (I was in a raven). I lost my first and thus far only astarte in syndicate a few years back. All told I had probably 300 mil in the ship (they were expensive as hell back then, so they must be really good I though). Long story short I, along with some others, engage a cerberus at short range on the station in VV-VCR. Then it gets back and everyone but me deaggroes. Why didn't I deaggro? I didn't know you could, so I was trying to kill the cerb and not doing well. I'm not sure the killmail is still out there - I haven't been able to find it. In more recent memory, while I was running a pvp training corp in highsec, I engaged a thrasher in an arbitrator after it had chewed up our bait rifter. It should have been nice and simple, but I fumble the drones and somehow forgot thrashers shield tank, so he managed to kill me. Arbi was t1 fit and unrigged so no real pain ISK wise but I did think long and hard about whether or not I was really the right person to run a pvp training corp after that.

On topic, my most embarrassing loss was probably when I had burned after a Crow off a gate with his Cynabal and Falcon buddy in the system. One day I had finally found a good deadspace complex, it was a 4/10 so I decided that I would bring out my trusty harbinger for the job. I had been poking around in the area for a little bit, and the local pirates probably got suspicious. When I was jumping through low sec to get to the system with the deadspace complex, I jumped through a gate and there was a myrmidon on the other side of the gate. I don't get away quickly enough and the myrmidon tackles me. I didn't panic right away, but I knew I was in trouble if I couldn't get away somehow. I decided to engage him, which was a bad choice, and just as we start shooting each other, An aeon warps in. I was having a bit of a buggy connection, and was getting irate at it, so I fiddled in my modem to see whether or not I could get a better reception, without splitter, diff cables and such. Thing was, I was in a mission, not really in any danger, but apparently there still was a spawn. I had offlined myself, and the last green square just winked out of existence when I warped back. ------------------------------------- I like to fly around and shoot stuff.

The gate fired, I saw him appear on local channel and as soon as I saw the flashy orange bar in my overview I locked and engaged him. I didn't really pay attention to the image of his ship which ofcourse I should and just started firing. Then suddenly I saw drones being launched and thought WTF!! Drones on a Rifter!! Turned out he reshipped into a Cane and not even with the prupose of him ganking me. Just coincidence. We had a laugh over EVEmail as he also completely didn't expect this to happen. Oh and one of the two friends went afk as she always does and the other arrived too late as I got instapopped. KillMail No need to say I check shiptypes much better since then.

Well, as I'm sitting there watching players zip in and out of the belt, one suddenly warps in right on top of me (I presume he'd warped in at distance, bookmarked me or my can, then warped away and WTZ on me) and almost immediately goes red flashy as the quantity of ore in my can drops. So here I am, in a "big bad" cruiser, with a red flashy frigate starting to move away and some drones orbiting me. So what do I do? I assume my cruiser's tank (unbolstered by any modules or support skills to speak of) will keep me safe, then lock the frigate and send the drones in. He immediately tackles my cruiser, then pops the drones in short order. Takes him slightly longer to pop my cruiser. Another time, on an alt on another account that has since expired, I was in an under-fitted Kestrel flying around high-sec belts ratting, passing time while I trained up the skills to be able to use a half-decent fit. In one belt I noticed a barge chewing up veldspar into a can, and I think "Hey, easy money!". Knowing that a mining barge can't fit weapons, I figure it's safe, quick, easy money to fly over, snag whatever will fit in my hold, and warp away. As I approach, he locks me, so I lock him, but I'm still ****y and oblivious to any danger. I open his can, then align to a station, then drag in the ore and hit the warp button; I wasn't fast enough, though, as he immediately scrams and webs me. No drones though, so instead of slow-boating out of range of his point and actually giving myself a chance of escaping, I orbit him at close range and unleash all my rocket launchers (this was back when rockets still worked). Just as I was beginning to make a small dent in his shields, his corpmates show up in an assortment of PvP-fitted frigates and cruisers (and might have been a BS or BC there, too, I didn't know the various ships at the time). Didn't have time to panic, I just popped. Warped my pod back to the station ASAP, then had a nice chat in local with them. Evidently one of them felt bad for me, as my wallet lit up with a donation large enough to fit two or three new Kestrels with the crap fittings I'd just lost.

During a roam we caught a non-outlaw pirate and destroyed his ship at the gate. For whatever reason he was too slow to warp out his pod and I was able to tackle it in my Brutix. Feeling proud I popped it and warped away to escape the gate gun's wrath who did not really like the podding. As we had trained I fled to our POS. Which was set to kill pirates, especially anyone with a GCC. Note to self: POS guns are worse than gate guns. I warp to the gate and while I press "Jump" I think "That n00b corp guy in a frigate over there off the gate looks like a scout for a gate camp". He was. The Domi lasted for quite a while, but no corpmate could help because I resort to mission running when no one else is around to do stuff with. But the most embarrassing one was the loss of my very first Navy Mega. That was before the LP store - you had to collect the LP with one agent and then wait for an offer, and you had little control over what you got offered. Back then the Navy ships were easily worth a billion - and ISK wasn't as easy to earn as it is now. Anyway, I was doing a storyline with the Navy Mega, one I had never done before. EVE-Survival did not exist back then so I was winging it, and it was easy going until the Serp or EoM ships or so were replaced by mercenaries in the next stage. Oops, wrong tank, especially with the Gallente hole towards explosive. So I quickly pick a station to warp to and align towards it, then proceed to pop as many ships (especially the scramblers) before I have to run. Then it's time to go, I hit warp, and nothing happens. I look for scramblers, there are none, I approach structure, notice the ship is turning, realize that there are TWO stations with similar names and I aligned to one and warped to the other. The ship did not have enough structure to align back to the correct station. To add insult to injury, I had just bought an X-Type hardener for another 300M. Of course it did not drop :(.

I'm in system, I point the Dom to the station where the job is, I initiate warp and then ... leave the computer and go downstairs to feed the cat colony in my backyard believing I was sending my Dom to a station. I return 15 mins later to find a pod in deadspace. WTF? I see red targets and in shock, I re-read the mission objective (which I skimmed the first time) only to discover that the pick-up location was in Deadspace and I had to pry the courier object from the cold dead hand of a serpentis. (there were several of them). Lesson learned. Always carefully read the agent report and never leave the computer unless absolutely certain that you are not sending your ship into battle. In other words, don't go AWOL.

The best part, not only did I lose my faction frig, and a faction AB, I also had some faction armor modules in my cargo that I had meant to drop inside the station from a recent exploration adventure. Total loss was 115 mil according to the killmail. Learned a pretty hard lesson and the guy got real lucky as my AB and a couple of the armor modules dropped for him. Think it was like 60 mil worth of modules that dropped, give or take? So Props to that guy on a successful bait and kill on a noobish pilot who got a little over confident in his faction frig, lol.

I was in a high sec system, heading back to another high sec system. I right clicked the gate, clicked 'set first waypoint' pressed autopilot and went afk. About 15 to 20 mins later I came back to my PC and saw the structure of the orca dropping slowly. I realised I'd accidentally set a waypoint to a low sec system. The single - i think it was a BC - that was attacking me must have been laughing his ass off. I was still about 5km from the gate when the structure finally gave in and the ship popped. 2) I'd been sorting out all my blueprints in our corp pos, just before going off on a battle I knew I wasn't bringing a ship back from. I set the warp point, and dragged the container back into the corporate hanger. Or so I thought. I must have been out of range, as when I got popped, I started geting mails linking me to the kill. The killboard of course interpreted every BPC as a BPO, and gave a loss of 12 bil. Thankfully it was only around 1 bil lost, but still a pretty expensive lesson.

I had that happen to me as well... And didn't seem random at all since not one but TWO guys mwd'ed directly to me. I think it may be an issue due to lag... Perhaps you activated cloak while in warp and they saw you arrive in that spot (the server registered the cloak activation a little later than you thought)? I think that's what happened to me. Had a Domi tackled in my Arazu and the gang was wailing on him... had him into structure... I was tanking gate guns and he used ECM drones to break free. I warp to a planet and wait for him to land somewhere so I can warp to scout and lock him down again. He sits in local for 3 minutes and we realized he docked up... I warped 20km from station and hit my cloak button in warp. THEN I alt+Tab over to my sisi client to finish fitting out the new ship I just spent 2 mil test server SP to be able to test. Alt+Tab back to keep eyes on station when I realized that I had not successfully cloaked my ship, which is now a wreck sitting next to me. I don't mind losing the ship, what I hate is that I had not had a session change, so the dude who did 0 damage to break my lock of ECM drones 5 minutes earlier is on the killmail. My Shame

So I volunteer to take 3 guys out and try to bait a pirate in lowsec. We fit up in Villore and out of habit from my old militia days, I jump into an adjacent lowsec system while they wait on the other side of the gate and I hit the belts. Immediately I discover an Osprey mining a belt, first try. Suspicious? We thought so too. Maybe it's bait for a trap. Check local, going down a list of 12 or 13 names and they're all from different corps, nothing scary looking at all. Funny too, he lets me fly right up to him, point blank, without warping away. With the green light from the local list and a target I think I can pop pretty quickly I proclaim "I'm going for it. If it's bait, oh well." And I start shooting. Moments later, my shields are dropping, there goes my armor and hull and I'm in a pod. "What the **** did that Osprey do?" I wonder out loud. I'm warping back to Villore in my pod when a fleet buddy comes to check the site of the wreck and spar with this uber-osprey. Except it isn't the Osprey that was there, it was Concord. No, this wasn't a low sec system after all. I just had assumed it was. It's my first time out leading a fleet with these guys and I got myself concorded. :D It ain't over yet. I never have really been much into high sec pvp other than against Red & Blue (wardec.) Thinking I knew the rules, I docked up and brought up my shiney (don't they shine?) Myrmidon BC. This is one of my better PVP ships incidentally. ;) Undock, warp to safe and get on the comms to reorganize the fleet. Hello again, Concord. Two ships down in about 5 minutes, and I have another 15 minutes to wait in the bloody station before I can get back to the fleet. And I'm the bloody FC. I've been playing the game for 2 years nearly. :P

FC says bug out, so I do. I meet up with the remains of our gang at a station. After that, FC says go to a gate and jump so I do. No friendlies on the other side. Did I jump through the wrong gate? I jump back in to the first system. I warp to the station. Bubble. Scram. Oh its just one onyx, should be able to take him....im using faction ammo in my t1 launchers! Cant scratch him. 25 reds warp in. I get scrammed, jammed, neuted, webbed, everythinged. Than their logi starts repping me against their gangs damage for lolz. Eventually they get bored and pod me. First podding ever :(

So were living in a wormhole in a previous corp and we receive a war dec. Leadership tells everyone who doesnt PVP to pull back to the worm hole. I'm in the wormhole with 2 megathrons with identical names in the ship array when corpies say that they are being chased by a small war target gang. So being new to battleships and being a hero i board the mega and burn out to empire solo to cover the friendly retreat. as im waiting on a gate 3 jumps from corp fleet and listening to their reports, i'm planning it all out.My corpies to jump to system, reapproach gate, and we'd teach those wt's something. Now might be the time to mention my identically named megas were fit out drastically differently. One had grouped T1 Blasters for high slots, the other had grouped smartbombs as an experiment for sleepers. Guess which one i was in? yep. smartbombs. So my friendly fleet jumps in to system in..... frigates. reapproach the gate. Lock first war target that comes into system. Hot key the high slot group. Promptly dissappear in a puff of illogic, along with my entire friendly frigate fleet and their pods. One friendly warped to the out gate by mistake when he entered system. I Managed to stay alive just long enough to catch him and his pod as he warped back to me to help. Enemy losses.... yep....zero.

I didn't worry too much, as I mostly haul goods OUT of low sec, not in - and besides, you'd be surprised at how hard it is to stop a Sigil fitted full of warp stabs and inertia stabs. How often do you come up again a group organised enough to place 3-4 points on you in 2 seconds or less? Right? Well, in my own defense, this works just fine, about 99% of the time... At this particular point, being a bit young and green in the career, I was mouthing off a bit on the intel channels. Bragging a bit about my low sec hauls, and how a few pirate campers are nothing to worry about, especially if you have a BRAIN... And then it's time to do one last haul for the night, and I head towards low sec. "Surely they can't still be camping that same gate after FIVE hours? Besides, what could they do to stop me anyway?" 4 points on the poor hauler in a fraction of a second. Then the fireworks began. I think they actually held back the firepower, to make sure I suffered properly before exploding. Not a big loss, an empty T1 hauler, but very embarrassing after the last few hours of idle chatter. Only one thing to do: congratulate them on the intel channel, avoid the burning eyes from the alliance fleet chief, post the killmail as instructed... and shamefully report for fleet training in the morning. Oh boy.

My heavy missiles couldn't dent his shield because he was real close and real fast. After my Drake went pop (which took some time, btw), I warped off in my pod. It was at that precise moment that I remembered I had a perfect set of T2 drones on board.... and I'd been an idiot for forgetting to deploy them. Meh.

My GF (RL) was yelling at me to get ready for the beach. I hit the "dock" button, thinking I would warp to station and dock. I then alt-tabbed. Turns out a Triumvirate gang killed me an hour later as I sat on the station AFK. The second loss was a Tengu, when they were still about 1 billion. This one was also deadspace fit, with an active tank. I knew we were at war with a merc gang but I decided to run over to Jita to get some T2 launchers or something. Well, I used autopilot, and I ran into a remote sensor boosted WT Onyx, Bangalornn, and Huginn. I died horribly.

The Fool: My Comp is next too my bead and I am pulled out of sleep too the sound of ship combat. I get to the comp and look at the situation half asleep and as if in a weird a$$ dream, I find my Tengu is pointed by a single mrym. The Panic: I quickly start repping and shooting back and soon discover the ransom note and the reality that we cannt break each other's tanks give he is a sheild tanking setup. The Bizzar: He tells me he has friends coming. The very strange thing is that his ship is almost dead, with no armor and into half structure. I never did that damage. SO I think he is deep in enemy territory. The hand of God: So Im thinking of shouting in local to get some random 0.0 help and maybe GTFO in the chaos when MY CONNECTION DROPS! The Shame: I dont do the loggosffski, but with my router's firmware issues killing the action, I am saved. I log in the next day after fixing router and expect to see my clone vat and be eating a 600 mil lose, when.... well I discover I'm still with the Tengu. LOL the guy couldn't break my tank and had no friends for the 10 minutes I was on grid after desync!!

I was fc of a small gang, I was in an ashimmu my self (in 0.0), we had a hic, a cynabal, 2 scouts a nighthawk and something else. So this infamous guys starts chasing us, I just know it's trouble. We're almost home safe and I tell my gang to warp to the next gate jump on contact etc. At this point their scout jumps in and our scout goes: Just one guy! Let us FIGHT!!! Withouth further ado the hic decides that bubbling NOW is a great idea (he was at the side of the gate where all the celestials were, and everyone else was at the other side, so no-one could warp out. When the smoke cleared the cynabal got away. Oh the scouts made it too. Everything else became trash. The moment of that hic-bubble going up and me thinking: oh crap we're dead... It still haunts me. Wisdom to be gathered from this: listen to the damn fc people. Also: my first post on this forum... YEAH(H).

A team of black ops comes through the static high sec, same one we came in 5 minutes before. They drop a bubble, I see that on my D-scan. I only saw 2 ships come in though, a Loki and a Falcon. My friend in his helios was trying to scan for another wormhole out, but in about 2 minutes the loki warps to our safespot. I panic and warp towards the wormhole exit that has a bubble (I didn't fit an interdiction nullifier.. really didn't think I'd see one in a wormhole system). Caught in it, but no ships are on d-scan ahead so I thought I would have time to reach the exit before the loki warps to me. Then about 7 or 8 black ops battleships decloak. I just about cried lol. Pouf, bye bye 1 billion isk. And of course they pod me, for salt in the wound effect. Still, it was exciting as hell. Also got my Tengu back too.

It was far too late when I realized whatÆs up 30 km away at half armor... yikes.. overloaded all that matters to catch up which worked but it really was too late. I was in structure already when my lasers started to reach. I _had_ the guy by the balls but I screwed up. DonÆt smack talk facing the wind æcause itÆs going to come right back on your nose. BTW turret bombers are awesome at killing torp bombers. why? see how much DPS torpedoes apply to a 800 m/s frigate. Even a pair of non bonused lasers will dominate such DPS race. Idiot me was not looking for any frigs scramming me. 20 seconds later, pop:( Oh ya another not so costly one, but funny, was sitting off station in a frigate in 0.0. Not paying attention i was heading strait out for deadspace. about 10 min later a neut shows up in system, and about 10 seconds after that a Vaga was about 5000 off me. I drove right into his scouting spot. But did not know i was so far out. Learned real fast, spamming dock at 100km out will not save me:) And dont browse the internets unless docked!
