You might want to check out this forum and ask them more about it

Nah you can find the iso's of the disks out there, specifically on Bittorrent is where I got mine. And this isn't illegal, because I bought the game the day it hit the shelves ;)
In fact, I convinced my parents to buy a new computer just so I could play it =D

Just finished it for god knows how many'th time, still soooo damn good Shame there's no immediate replayability, but give it a year... Maybe there's some decent mods.
Looks great without anti-aliasing too, jagged edges not too noticeable, pretty rare.

FS2 was such an amazing game. The feeling of desperation when you se ethe scales of the Shivan attack pouring towards you. The drama was intense. -TT

FS2 was (and still is) one of the best space-sim games ever made ... I've read somewhere that they are planning to make a 3 <|Fueld by metal , I live|> |

The replayability is there, with FRED2 you can create your own missions and even your own campaigns, just need to get some people to put some of those together and it's like a whole new game again =)

How does this game work? I mean, do you need a Joystick? If the game is that good, i might buy it...

It's your standard fair space shooter, think freelancer, starlancer ect...
Blast um up, joystick required.
For me did it better than most, it just felt dead right. When it first came out i couldn't put it down for a while, originals better imho than the sequel, something you just have to try.

They have the demo there. ------------------------

Mouse+keyboard works ok for me, but joystick would be great (those flight-sim ones).

Do not listen to these joystick-lovers! you don't need a joystick. to be a very good fighter there you need to familiarize yourself with the numpad. not kidding here btw, it's uber for tracking in freespace. (i know i kicked KD's ass with guns there just cause i use numpad and he joystick) ------------------- :: finite horizon :: killboard ::

You will be the most effective in Freespace when controlling your ship with the mouse. ------------
