I thought EVE was doomed? Are we sure the sky still isn't falling? Because there is just too much win in this feature. It's a conspiracy!

I'm in love with this feature, but maybe we could get a little more depth in the focus slider? a single dimension tends to be discriminatory to some of us. ==================== ~/~ Sultan of Buruni |

Dual-Monitor-Support has been in for years (using XP, a NVidia card and horizontal span mode), but the ability to center the HUD on one of the screens is great. But it comes too late for me, i am using an eyefinity setup now on tranquility and that's just amazing.
I have not found any other game that works so good with custom resolutions (3840x1024 for me).

Do you know if it is possible to use dual monitor support with Win7? Under Win7 I cannot get a NVidia control panel to switch to horizontal span mode, like I could with WinXP. Perhaps I am stupid (a likely possibility). Anyone know how to tweak Win7 to allow me to span multi-monitors with one client?
thanks. |

Edited by: Arretu on 28/10/2010 01:05:40 Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if proper SLI support is available yet? I currently have 2 monitors each plugged into a different graphics card, but if I could turn SLI on again and have both monitors from one graphics card, I can set it so it treats both screens as one big monitor and get fullscreen expanded EVE goodness...
*drool*
edit: also, just logged onto test server, but no window resizing superpowers for me, it seems unless there is a box I need to tick somewhere... |

IIRC the test server has (at this time) what will be Tyrannis 1.2 on it, and therefore the functionality is currently not there on SiSi. Wait till after Tyrannis 1.2 drops and then go have a play :)

You can do that at the moment - use windowed mode and EveMon or some other movement tool to perfectly align the screens to make them appear to be full screen. I use this to run my two accounts at the same time - great for salvaging and missioning at the same time, or having a scout watching the other side of a gate etc...
Originally by: Wu Jiaqiu Anyone else having trouble with the dual screen?
Yes - I downloaded the new sisi client and I cannot make it go "100%" centred in windowed mode using the EveMon relocation option. A corp mate also told me about the same issue. I run 2 24" monitors, so would like to have Eve perfectly agligned on them at their native resolution please CCP!!!!

Now CCP only has to chnage the VER- to HOR+ behaviour as it once was if read the interwebs correctly.
This is bad behaviour because all you can get nowdays is 16:9 and already see less in HD than any dude in an old 4:3.
Now with dual monitor support its even worse. I love this feature dont get me wrong, but it just feels weird if u see signifcantly less due to the additional monitor.
So please change that CCP.

Edited by: DIDGERY on 24/11/2010 22:49:26 I have a 30" and a 20" lcd. 2560x1600 and 1600x1200
does that mean i can play running 3760x1600 and relocate the center of the ship? If so and it's not slowed down or lacking the same quality or bugs, I think you will have MANY MANY happy gamers for a few months. Improvements like this are long overdue. It would be nice to see multi threaded EVE and real support for sli. Most gamers have multiple monitors for years now. CCP take a break from increasing the number of people in jita and do more work here!! I would even consider having 3-4 monitors just to play eve.
by the way I have the 20" rotated so I hope that it will work correctly.

OK I can stretch the screen across the twin monitors...great! However, It has a slider to offset the ship view...BRILLIANT....but not the lower HUD with the speed and module views etc...so this remains slapped right in the middle split across two screens...unusable...PLEASE fix...

Switch to windowed mode, drag the window to the size you like and switch to fixed window. I just hope there would be possibility to move the fixed window around a bit.
