Use the randomizer until they can switch back the functionality. |

I love that there are now options to adjust the age of your character (you can make a male Ni-Kunni that doesn't look like he's sixty years old).
What I think is really needed, though, is lots more racially-specific stuff. Minmatar tattoos and Amarrian robes have already been mentioned, but also and specifically:
Jin-Mei: fancy outfits with crazy collars and headgear
Brutor: more dreadlock options
Sebiestor/Vherokior: more cyberpunk-ish accessories, crazy tribal hairstyles
Achura: fancy headgear (both ornamental and functional, like their microphones and eyepieces
Honestly, I think the hairstyles should be racially specific in any case, but that's just me.

Same problem here, I can see the menu options and use them but no char to apply it on, just an empty (space) |

Tried again today, still nothing..
I'm trying to make a new character and trying to upgrade an existing one as it tells me too, no matter what race I pick, it loads the creator screen and all I have are menu's, no actual rendering of the character.
Anyone know a fix?

I think it is only working on male chars at the moment - saw several posts saying same as you but was only on female chars. Also iirc you can only use new creator on SiSi on existing chars not new.... I logged in on an existing male character and could use it.

This. My main absolutely needs his hood, he has mental issues!
The new system has one thing in common with the old: The big version looks very cool and then everything is sized down to this tiny fuzzy portrait and it looks just awful. You can't really make a shady char with dark background because on the little portrait all that remains is a dark something. Even with brighter chars the lighting is totally different in the small version.
Most chars of the same race and sex will still be pretty much indistinguishable from each other.
Thumbs up though for one big improvement: this time we get to see how our char will really look in the game before we save it, so we can go back and try to improve the portrait. Sad thing is: What will make the char look better in the small version will make him uglier in the big version and eventually in Incarna.

You're probaply trying to model a female right? The females can be made to work with a little work.
Change to window mode. After you have entered to the character selection and entered to the sculpting face, resize the window and wait a bit. The female should pop into view. But you can't sculpt, yet. You need to cloth her and then go to the pose view and back to sculpt screen. Now you're able to model again.
Go to "test server feedback" and read the last pages of the stickied thread "character customization feedback", there's a picture guide with more information. -------------------------------------------------

Edited by: No Pun on 19/11/2010 19:39:11 Hello CCP,
any chance to get "wow-tal" type (alphatbet-number-string) of build designator for sculpting 'build'? Something easy to copy-paste before submitting, something on the sculpting screen constantly updating... an universal portrait identifier(?)
(see for example: http://wowtal.com/#k=mHeL-ma.a6d.warrior.RX6Z1s the last parts of URL designate which talent's picked from the warrior talent tree)
That would (at least) like: - enable to draw elsewhere and save the portrait before accepting. - make the system bit more robust for current problem of time-out-when-submitting.
- and maybe most importantly, enable sculpting-services bought(!) instantly, for liek ing-ame iskz; I send isks, you sent the sculpt-string (portrait looked good from the garbled .gif you sent me)

Originally by: Rocius The differences shown between those two pics of a Brutor seem VERY extreme to me. I surely hope you guys still allow for the hair styles, and MOST ESPECIALLY the facial tattoos that we have. Voluval tattoos are important to us Minmatar. PLEASE PLEASE keep the same facial marks we have now, if you guys want to add additional ones, that would be all well and good.
Any chance I could get a comment from someone about the tattoos?
Tattoos will not be part of the first release. They didn't work well with the facial sculpting and we decided to allow the team to work further on it after the release to get them polished and good. You will then be able to go back to your portrait and add tattoos, both to face and body.
So essentially you'll release it half baked, give up on getting it anywhere near right and leave it half made for a while.
Sorry but I am very attached to the character i created 7 years ago, I don't want the pointlessness that is Incarna, I am now told that I can't even get close to recreating a character that is similar. This is such an appalling change.

Originally by: Mynxee While it's way less important than so many other things, I'm sure I'll enjoy giving myself a makeover. There better still be red dreads! :sadpanda: about the tattoos ... They are pretty important for Minmatar. :/
Also hope there is no time out or else some kind of interim save because I am guessing people will take long amounts of time to recreate their characters.
If there were any tattoos I am should there would be red sadpanda ones, sadly there are no tattoos.

This has been said many times in several different threads. ALL will have to remake their characters, new and old. Old characters are not compatible with Incarna (previously "walking in stations" aka "ambulation"). |

EVE Online: Incursion will be released in three parts. This is the first installment with the second part coming on December 14 when we remove learning skills. The final release in January will contain the new character creator and Sansha Incursions. Full details can be found in the release blog from CCP Zulu.

Tried the new Character Creator , its very good , but feel it could be alot better , but i realise it`s not finished yet .
Probably been said before , but alot more clothing options are needed , and the ability to colour your clothes , i tried having all white gear , being a Dr , i thought it was a good idea lol . I couldnt get everything white .
Other things , were more hairstyles .
The colouring system that pops up to the left seems rather dull to me , hard to tell what colours alot of them are until you press them .
I dont know if CCP have seen STO toon creator but you can produce some awesome toons .
As this is very new to Eve , im sure it will get better and better as time goes on .

Feedback tiem!
The stuff below assumes the SiSi options and tools are the final product so that I can make an honest review without assumptions.
My user story: As a player, I want to be able to recreate my persona with the same overall appearance as the one on the old-style portrait, so that I can help maintain the persona I've fashioned for this character.
The good!
- The face shaper is surprisingly easy and intuitive to use. The controls feel natural.
- The clothing choice I see so far are both tasteful and elegant with a very "real life" feel to them. As in, I could see someone walking around in real life wearing these.
The bad!
- The color palettes are very dark and not representative of what appears on the actual character render. I have difficulty making out which color is which.
- Most of the preview icons are either very zoomed-out or do not show what makes that option particular. Many lighting choices and eyeliner choices look the same on the thumbnails, so I have no way to check what it looks like unless I select it.
- There is a significant FPS decrease when using the face shaper.
- When in Portrait mode, if I click on the Portrait mode button again, my character's pose resets itself!
- The "face zoom" and "body zoom" buttons on the upper-left do not have any translation; I currently see the button's name, which is something like "button_zoom_face".
Wishlist
- Submenus for clothing choices. For instance, choose the pair of pants, then the color of these pants (rather than have one main choice for each color.)
- Skirts for women!
- Wilder hairstyles. Especially, especially the "fireball" do that's on my current persona.
- More varied hair colors, especially unnatural ones. Don't tell me the world of EVE hasn't invented hairdye!
- Similarly, more varied eye colors, especially unnatural ones - implying the character might be wearing colored contact lenses.
- I'd like to have, rather than a choice-slider, the option to pop open a grid-style menu that shows me all the choices en masse simultaneously.
- While I don't expect CCP to allow a player to change his/her character's appearance, I'd like to be able to re-pose myself and snap a new picture if I come to grow unsatisfied with the one currently attached to my profile.
- The return of different lighting colors
- I'd like more zoom levels when in portrait mode. Currently I have "not enough" and "too much".

And again i'm ****ing impressed by this new characters. Looks cool even with maximum zoom, never seen such quality before I have not a very high fps on maximum settings with my notebook, but that's not an issue
Yes, need more glasses and clothes, but i think it's just a matter of time, just don't stop
Well, i think in incarna i'll just forget about all those space things :) not a big fan of a spaceships anyway, at least until it'll have a same quality as those new avatars
Just don't **** this up, please Like T3 with SP loss ---

Played around with it yesterday. At first I was at a loss about what to do, but it got better when I played around with it. I was also in awe with the graphics quality. Of the face that is, because the body showed up in rainbow colors for me. After fiddling with the graphic settings I discovered this was caused by the shader. But if I set that low, the quality of the avatar was so much reduced, it was very hard to set any details. Hair for instance would simply disappear altogether. I also noticed how on high graphics settings, the interface was so slow, it was very hard to tweak anything.
I am impressed with the quality of the avatar, but it takes too much resources at the moment to make it right, which makes this available only to the fastest and newest computers. Which many of us don't have or need to play the game. I also am a little disappointed over the fact that all races wear the same outfits, have the same hairchoice and wear the same glasses. This way we will all look almost the same. More choice and individuality please.
