Can someone tell me how to capture a portrait and where those screen shots are stored? I want to save my character's avatars before the change over.

Why do I feel yet another nerf to us Gallente is coming with this release?
After nerfing our drones, ammo, blaster tracking, webs, and the Navy skins.... you're taking away our good looks next aren't you?
Goddammit I liked my fishbowl helmet too.

Final Fantasy XI)? I know its something completely uneccessary, but im sure some people would like to have a desk and a lamp with a bunch of killmails piled on top of it.

I've been looking at my characters images for the past six years. They represent in a real way my personal connection to EVE.
I want my character's appearence in the new system to be as close as possible to their current appearence.
I dont want to have to do this by hand!

Is there some way to save a HD version of our current avatars?
I know you can screenshot, but I mean the actual version that's shown in the full-size headshot during creation. Failing that I'd like to get the best quality copy I can so I have something to go off to recreate my unique looks :D

Right-click on your name / portrait in the chat window. In the context-sensitive menu select "Capture portrait". This renders a 1024x1024 jpeg of your character and saves it to your "[My Documents]/EVE/Capture/Portraits" folder, named with your characterID.

Originally by: Kile Kitmoore Does this mean body proportions such as weight and height will be adjustable?
Weight and muscularity will be adjustible ( with different contraints per race / bloodline ) but height is not adjustible. Different height avatars require an animation system or a set of animations multiple orders of magnitude more complex than having all the same height. There's a lot of things we can't support with different height avatars without considerable extra engineering and art investment which we prefer to spend elsewhere. That said, the men are taller than the women.
Avatar Failure #1.

Avatar Failure #1.
Indeed, this is a huge downer. I can only hope that different bloodlines have different height, so that it isn't just that females are height #1 and men height #2. Also, this better mean that those animations are DAMN SWEET.
...
In fact, this is such a glaring flaw that it almost nullifies everything you have done to make these new avatars "realistic".
Very disappointed.

C'mon people - it's not that different heights aren't coming in another iteration. I can see why they limited it, because the time and effort and price will push Incarna even more. Height fluctuation is not something that is as important as other aspects of this I think.

Quote: This, however, is the way we roll. We publish unfinished stuff to our live server to allow you, the players to have a go at our new technology, to find defects, to have it tested on all kinds of different hardware configurations so that we in the end never deliver a high-quality product. With your feedback, we never make the game better, but be warned, this is the final product. Some avatars will look awful and ridiculous, with glaring visual artifacts and defects. Did I mention that some of them will look awful? Oh yes, and our team will be reassigned as soon as it's out to make the next set of content additions that we'll PR and make it an expansion, enjoy!

When you do the character creation could you have a little preview of how it will look in game in a corner somewhere. Portraits look very differnt in local than they do in the full screen creation interface. ------------------------------ God is an afk cloaker |

Dear torfi,
I strongly hope that I can dress my character with just a thong and iskies slided in it like feathers, and dancing on a pole like, uhm, a special entertainer. So when she really gets tired of shooting evil Guristas, she can relax that way. Please?

Dear Torfi - when Incarna breaks, allow us with player owned establishments to make dress code policies.... Only the entertainers aren't required to wear clothes

Tattoos will not be part of the first release. They didn't work well with the facial sculpting and we decided to allow the team to work further on it after the release to get them polished and good. You will then be able to go back to your portrait and add tattoos, both to face and body.
Have you tried to quantify the time needed to do a portrait or you will wait for people to try it on Sisi and get an idea of the time needed from the tries there?
How many retries we will have? I mean, if I log in start redoing my portrait, after an hour I really need to log in to change skill/do an op/whatever, I can save the new portrait return back to it to make it better?
New players will have the chance to do a "rushed half job", then log in and start playing to return late to the portrait and complete it or they will be struck with it unless they pay for a new avatar?
We will have enough time to do it right even if starting a new account or we will be booted after a half hour of working on the avatar?
