I am aghast at the results of the semifinalist selection. It was a mistake to leave judging to non-Eve persons without some sort of criteria to judge by. There are many far superior, and Eve-worthy, entrants.
Not ONE of those entrants should be paid so much as (insert single unit of failed currency here).

Soooo - am I the only one that thinks - with a few exceptions - that these aren't anywhere near as terrible as a lot of people are making out? I agree that a few of them (BES protector, Masonis) either aren't very EvE-esque or aren't very good or original (LA Battlecruiser) but I don't think the majority of them are so terrible they're worth getting up in arms over - and this 'petition' is, frankly, a joke.
Would I have picked these over some of the others? Maybe not, but I wasn't judging.
As for the "this ship doesn't look like it belongs in EvE" crowd - I remember reading the exact same thing about the Zephyr and the Noctis/Primae, and as these came directly from CCP, I'm not sure that argument holds any water...

Based solely on rules considerations. My ships didn't adhere to the rules and I realized it to late, my bad. I paid for it.
Make DA stick to the Rules and actually LOOK at the art.

I almost never post on the forums. THAT is how rubbish I think these ships are... Seriously... The LA Battlecruiser? Is that even a design?! WHAT IS THAT?!?!
I wouldn't be surprised if it wins, though; it shouldn't be very hard to make an in-game model at all, actually... It would suit the overall half-assed production model that CCCP has been taking recently...

Not all of them are bad and some were selected by their merits, but are you ****ing kidding me about most of them. They either look like generic spaceships, joke entries(LA[long ass] battlecruiser) or something I see in anime. I'm not upset just because they aren't very EVE like, but because a large portion are crap compared to what was left out and some of those left out had the additional benefit of fitting EVE like a glove. If the semi-finalists had at least all been good entries, I wouldn't have signed anything.
I'm not worried they will get implemented in the game. There are a few good ones, so the choice should be easy to pick the winner. I'm disapointed that amazing designs that were making me salivate just at the prospect that I might get to fly them didn't even make to the semi finals, but generic uninteresting ships did and even a god damn joke ships did.
I also don't see why shouldn't we raise noise about this. If we don't, all those great designs will go to waste and will never have any chance of being implemented in EVE. That would be a huge loss to the game IMO, since there were loads of amazing ships, that people were excited about and would love to get their hands on. On the other hand no one is excited about most of the semi-finalists and can't see the reason why some of them were selected to be there.

Submissions were disqualified. Doesn't matter how good they are.. if they broke the rules in place, then that is that. Anyone that didn't follow the rules, that is their own fault.. not a judges or CCPs. There is a reason judging takes place before community voting, to make sure the rules of the contest are upheld. GET OVER IT and Move On.
I wonder just how many people in here are /signing cause their art did not make it in, and are using all alts to inflate the tears, I mean whine, I mean crying, I mean dislike of judges using their own personal opinions based on the art that followed the rules of the contest all had to follow.

Oh no, i agree with you.
With a few exceptions, only the ones who don't agree reply, most people who are fine with it, people who don't care and people who never read forums or reply anyway are not involved.
Doesn't matter what outcome really, this post with several pages of replies was going to happen anyway. Might as well get i over with.
I will also predict the future, we will see a few negative posts about the finalist(s) as well.

Awwwwwww, did yours or a friend of yours not make it to the semi? That's too bad. Good job taking it like a crying *****, tho. Can always find out what person's personality is truly like on the inside when they don't succeed at something.. the value of a man is best determined by how they move on after they fall.
