So, they were 9 year old girls permanently chained to a basement operating table? That seems like an odd gameplay mechanic.

No my definition agrees rather nicley with what I said. Obviously Im substituting "female avatar" for "female clothing" but I think thats rather obxious - IRL you cant have an avatar clothing and make up is the best you can do.

Some people are stupid just because they are born that way, but you, sir, have just officially chosen to be stupid. I guess the lesson here is when someone chooses to be the way that you've chosen to be, you can't fix them. All you can do is live and let one run around being an idiot and mucking up his/her own life.
However, if you wish to do a good deed for the rest of the world (especially these forums), please, keep your stupidity to yourself. Then again, I guess that's asking to much.

No. You are using an antiquated description from a source that is not authoritative on the topic, and treating that as a definition. The fact that you don't even know this distinction just further proves your ignorance of the topic. The errors in this description are obvious, and had you actually had any idea what you were talking about, you would have spotted this very early on.
You didn't, so you don't know what you're talking about.
Quote: So if youre only probelm is that Im not using your prefered definition - then you are wrong not me.
You are not using a definition at all and treating it as such, and then you refuse to look at the actual definition, even when it's been explained to you why you should, because that would rob you of a word you have grown accustomed to using incorrectly. Guess what this makes you?
So, have you looked up what "transestism", "cross-dressing", "gender" and "identity" mean yet?
Oh, andà Quote: Obviously Im substituting "female avatar" for "female clothing" but I think thats rather obxious - IRL you cant have an avatar clothing and make up is the best you can do.
This is of course incorrect as well, which you would know if you had done the slightest bit of research rather than relying on your own ignorant assumptions. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Well, there is autogynephilia which is pretty much what Ghoest is talking about. That's very real, but whether it applies to male players with female toons is questionable. |

More importantly, what's CCP going to do when Incarna goes live? Allow gender change for existing players who picked female because there was no avatar to go along with it? If they allow gender change, what about name change? Be kind of weird to have a dude named Jennifer running around. |

True and true: and that's kind of the point ù it's not the right term nor a particularly suitable application.
Oh, and one more thingà Originally by: Ghoest Im the one who first used the word transvestite in this thread.

TBH, I'm sort of surprised. I dont know how good of a sample this thread would be, but I always imagined there were a few more female gamers than there seem to be. Best not to devote too much thought to it, I guess.
There are very very very few girls who PvP. Many more who mine or mission, but they are filthy carebears and worth more as killmails than as people.
I dont know; I pvp (solo losec frig pirate) and know a couple of other RL women who are pirates/pvpers. I also know a couple that carebear it up. Who knows.

No. You are using obsolete meanings that no longer describe what they used to (cf. "democracy," or, hell, "schizophrenia" to make a much more closely related example). This makes you misunderstood, and that might explain why your idea doesn't get much traction: you're not actually saying what you think you're saying.
Quote: If you want new meanings use your new words.
Language doesn't work that way. If you want to say something, say what you actually mean, rather than something tangentially related. Precision is good for you. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

It is pretty funny when someone gets all gushy over one of my female characters... People use "furries" in a lot of jokes, but I think its ****ing funny someone is hitting on pixels. IMO people who get mad about who is running a character are kind of like "furries" that we don't have a name for yet.
When people hit on my one of my girl characters, I could stop it before it starts, but then I wouldn't have as much laughter ammo stockpiled against you.

Do you remember what a tamagotchi is? Some people might just treat their chars as their little babies that they care for so they get big and strong and sexy and beautiful. These I would call "third person" players. They don't identify with their char directly but act more as a godlike entity that guides the char through the universe. It would then only make sense for a male player to take care of a sexy female char.
The other type of player is then of course the "first person" player, who directly identify with their char. They play directly through the eyes of their char, they are their char and their char is them.
Then you have those who don't give a damn.
And finally I won't deny that there even might be people that play the opposite sex because they can identify with it better. But why would you care? You wouldn't discriminate them in RL, so why would you in a game. Unless of course you hail from Afghanistan.

Even when going after "your" bloody definition, it proves you wrong. A transvestite after that definition, would have to get something else than visual stimulation out of some avatar they chose. Thus, they would have to, as said like a billion times, lie about their real sex and then get something out of that. The picture in this case that you have, doesn't have to do anything with it.
Basically, you could go to some chat, with your current avatar, then say you are a girl in real life. You can do that with the picture of a dog as your avatar, or a car it wont matter one bit.
What this thread does show tho, is that you need to represent your manliness through a tiny pic in an mmo, where your avatar is vastly unimportant. But yes, you clearly won the argument, congratulations. Im sure that homophobia that goes hand in hand with "im right because i say so" attitude will get you far in life.

Not trying to be rude or anything of the sorts, but I just have to say deja vu. I posted essentially the same thing a page back
He's an immature child who refuses to accept anyone's opinion other than the unsubstantiated, ignorant, and intolerant one that is his own.
