Anarchy Online was amazing before the expansions ruined it. (Might be a bit sentimental as it was my first mmorpg) Planetside before the expansions ruined it.

Warcraft. It's the polar opposite of Eve, but it does what it sets out to do very well, and can be a lot of fun if you get past the "I'm to cool for mainstream" attitude I stopped playing several years ago, but its definitely a quality game.
I also used to play a MUD called Gemstone IV, which was essentially a text based MMO. I played that on and off for 14 years, was a really great game... its still around I'm pretty sure.
Pretty much every other MMO I've tried hasn't lasted longer than a couple months.

Everquest I, my first true love in the MMO world (MUDs dont count)
After that I must say It never felt the same , not a single world has captured the same essence of masochistic yet pleasurable feeling of corpse runs, de-leveling, stupidly impossible trains to zone ins, friends and just plain fun it used to be back in the day when everybody that played MMO's had a clear purpose of having fun, not the mainstreaming 10 year old kiddies crapfest that WoW unleashed into the world.
Up to this day I still haven't found any single game that had Necromancers so well developed and pets so finely tuned to the class in both looks, feel and mechanics.
Even Vanguard, despite it's potential, failed badly.
For me it always was and will always be EVERQUEST I ...

It is still around.. least last I checked on it a year ago. Don't really ever see it dying til the diehards are dead in another 30-50 years. idk how many years I played that one. Started way before it turned into IV. Oh the memories.. probably the oldest MMO left that was decent, it was pretty damn good.. about as good as a MUD can get.

Dark Age of Camelot. Man, I loved that game, it's the only MMO I had to be _forced_ to stop playing instead of just ditching from boredom, or when my friends did, or when a new game came along. I only quit when I moved to an apartment where the net connection screwed up communication with the servers. (Then I moved to WoW where my buds were.)
And maybe Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, which is basically DAoC's kid brother with a shinier costume. Admittedly I did give that up when my friends quit, so not quite as independently awesome.
Eve is actually fairly low on my list. I keep playing it because it's interesting, but it's a little too much farmville and not enough Tribes 2 in terms of gameplay to really stick as a favorite. And there's so very much grind, bleh. ---

Well lets see...
I've played, in order,
Runescape, WoW, Guild Wars, Final Fantasy XI, Lineage II, City of Heroes/Villains, Aion, Global Agenda, Vindictus, and finally, EVE.
My favorite besides EVE though? I dont think I have a favorite besides EVE... EVE is the bread and butter. But here's my likes and dislikes.
Like: I played Guild Wars for like 5 years which is cool. 1337 assassin skills back when factions came out. I love the music in Lineage II and the graphics were awesome at the time. I also loved the big castle sieges. I played City of heroes before city of villains came out, and then played still after a bit. I love flying in Aion, though it's a bit of a clone of WoW. I still play it every once in a while. Global Agenda is cool cause it's a different style of FPSMMO.
Dislikes: I played runescape in 6th grade cause i was bored. I got to lvl 80 in WoW and then said "**** what do I do now??" So I quit. Final Fantasy XI was too difficult for me, but it was a good game.
Not sure: Vindictus is the only one i'm not sure about because i havent tried it yet. It's supposed to be some sort of hack'n'slash MMO. it came out about a month ago and i just downloaded it last night. I'll try it soon.

QFT!
I've played Everquest, Anarchy Online, Dark Ages of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, and now Eve. Nothing has or sadly ever will be another Everquest. It had it's flaws but people put up with it because it didn't have any competition out there and that's what made the game special. Every MMO out there now, Eve included, seems like a watered-down version of EQ, where developers succumed to whiners and the crybabies.
I still remember the days where I was running for my life from the 20 gnoll trains in Blackburrow every 3 minutes, 3 hours sitting around LFG or an enchanter, 10 hour dungeon corpse-retreivals, spamming in the EC tunnel to trade, staring at a book for 20 levels to med, getting past the hell levels, missing the boat in Freeport by 5 secs, or camping a rare spawn for 10 hours. People put up with it and eventually enjoyed it. Nowadays, you'd have 30 whine threads about any of those aspects of a game and it'd be taken out within a few expansions. I really do regret that the people I play MMOs with now never got to experience those things.

Like others said, PlanetSide (Markov FTW)
Otherwise, Fallen Earth stands out in my head, it was a great concept.
My absolute all time favorite tho remains Earth and Beyond. Closed Beta invite to Sunset I played that game, and found out 5 years later they're resurrected it. This makes me happy.

Hate to admit it in this crowd, but...... WoW
It was a ton of fun during the leveling process, and running the instances with guildies was a hoot. It really had a sense of adventure on my first trek to level 80. But after I hit the level cap, and everything became just about running heroics and getting emblems to get geared for raiding, I lost interest. It felt like the same thing over, and over again. And the new expansion isn't going to make the game seem new again.
