Dose any one think that there can be an EVE online rts game that CCP can make.
Like, have a starting station get units, take over moons and asteroid belts to get new units and tech upgrade units and fit a unit that you think would be best to make pawnage like put alot of ISK/recourses into one ship to make it really powerful and make your own fitting set ups on it. Also take over a solar system or small scale galaxy or something. have miners that mine in belts and when there full they warp to the POS or Main base you set it to and drop off recourses and go back to mine more. then upgrade to a battle ship or battle cruiser or something. and have epic space battles vs Caldari,Ammar,Minmitar,or Gallente ships that are under your control. it sounds just epic and have logistics to rep your ships or w/e. let me know your ideas about a EVE RTS game and your likings.

Think the homeworld thing was quite some time ago. Dunno if it ever got finished. Sins of a Solar empire isn't bad either.
An RTS MMO would be problematic unless the pace of play was so slow that it didn't require 24/7 attention.

There's a hundred different things CCP could do with the EVE IP. That doesn't mean making a RTS out of it is a feasible idea right now. Besides, their expertise is in the MMO field, I can only assume you don't mean they should make it a MMORTS, or do you ? _

No like you can have a lobby or something, and then join the game and have a specific map size. like small medium large extra large or something. and choose your race to play with.

Oh, I know, I know, and it could totally have, like, units and resources, and stuff could shoot at eachother ! That's SOOOooooo original !
... You don't exactly inspire a lot of confidence in the target demographic, now do you ?

There are enough non-EVE RTS games, and some of them are space-based, and a few are quite damned good. Nothing will be added by making "yet another RTS", and CCP's time is not wisely spent on it. If you want an EVE RTS, feel free to join one of the projects modding (total-conversion style) one of the following : Homeworld (either one), Sword of the Stars, Sins of a Solar Empire. All you need are the ship models from EVE (which thankfully are quite easily accessible with TriExporter) and a bit of modding-related knowledge.

Travian is quite a successful and addicting RTS MMO. The pace can be slow, or it can be quite vigorous :). It's very possible to make an MMO RTS in the theme of EVE. Theres really only three things that RTS revolves around - resources, expansion, and military. Applying EVE's theme to Travian and adding in 500 layers of complexity/clickfest would be trivial.

What are you talking about? EVE _is_ an RTS. It's just not one that has the usual 'command a lot of units with perfect control' options.
You've got a fleet commander, commanding a group of pilots - with varying degrees of skillpoints, expertise and morale. You have logistics, fleet strategy/setup, intel, diplomacy and politics.
And of course, you don't automatically get to be commander - you need to be able to lead effectively.

Travian, yeah, I've seen that, was going to mention it in the quoted post, but I could not recall the name. The problem I see is the "quite vigorous" part. How do you defend if you're not online? With Character based games, when you're offline, your AV goes to sleep, docks, goes to nirvana or what not. But how to deal with a country. It's not like Finland can go dock. And if being offline grants immunity, then how to stop going off line being abused.

What they should have done with DUST/PI in terms of an eve RTS;
Ignored their stupid cloning soldiers idea. ****ed the xbox and ps3 fps market since it'll be impossible to break into. Made a ****ing PC eve RTS game and used that instead.
Man CCP are so ****ing unimaginative and ******ed sometimes. ------

??? What are you talking about???
Eve online already has those options!
You can build your station. It called POS (Player Owned Structure)
You can get Units. Just go and recruit them as many as you want.
You can take over moons, planets, and asteroid belts. That constantly happens in eve online. (Well about moons, I am not so sure now, but exist such moon mining and it is very profitable. Planet Interaction for planets and of course you can take over asteroid belts. That what people do in this game. I mean in the low and 0.0 security space.)
In addition, of course you do that because of getting/hiring new Units and tech upgrades for your Units. It is in your responsibility to make that kind Units you need. Like tech Units (called Logistics), tacklers, or support and so on.
You can do your own fittings in your ships to make it best and powerful. Battleclinic website is full of them. Just go and check it http://eve.battleclinic.com/browse_loadouts.php?mode=date You can take over solar system and that what corporations and alliances do. You can hire your miners and send them mine wherever you want. They will mine belts and they will drop ore in your pos if you will say so them.
You can Upgrade your ship like to a battle ship, cruiser or something and have Epic battle against Caldari,Ammar,Minmitar,or Gallente ships. It's called faction warfare.
You can have all those Epic things you were naming in the game now.
Those all possibilities ARE available in eve online NOW.
Oh... I get It! You want to play with BOTs
However, this option IS available in eve online as well. You run your Units against BOTs by doing any 4 - 5 level missions. I guess level 1, 2, 3 missions with such power will bore to you
Just log now and play! And Avoak... have nice Play!

an eve RTS would be fun, but it would make fan base angry, either it would be overly complicated letting you pick fits to create for your navy, so like instead of making it "build punisher" it would be "build punisher with pulse laser II in the highs, a MWD in the mid with blah blah blah blah" or it would be like a simple RTS, Build abbadon, a normal t3 BS, less range then apoc but more armor/dps
what they could do, and make it a huge success, is go off the game Allegiance its like a 200person FPS, where 1 person commands the space fleet, they pick a side, choose what to upgrade spend resources then players attack with the units given and such, good game but community is god awful.
