I name my Iterons "Space Tonka MK (I to V)" Depending on what type they actually are.
Otherwise, Drakes will be either : Heracles or "Ta m+¿re en Shorts" (Your mom in shorts)

Fusion, laser, bullet, and kamikazee bombs. Drone users were also called Riggers. As in rigormortis, refering to the flesh as a meat sack.
And last but not least:
Tako - Noctis named the Japanese word for octopus. 5 tractors and 3 salvage all going at once. mmmmm.

All my ships are named after pop culture items that are somewhat relevant. My exploration ship is The Dr. Jones (Indiana Jones), my Cargo ship is named the Nostromo (Alien) and another named the Sulaco (Aliens)
And I have my second Brutix after having one destroyed named The White Hot Room and 10 pts to anyone who can tell me that reference!

I usually use the Canadian naval naming convention for larger (BC+) ships, and then the name reflective of something about them. Examples:
Widow -- HMCS Huecuva
Shield/NanoPest -- HMCS Razorwing
Mission Mael -- HMCS Mount Royal
One of many Drakes -- HMCS Majestar
Cruiser and down, I have a little fun with it sometimes.
Tengu -- Caldari Shuttle
Falcon -- Lyrrashae's Ibis
Rapier -- I Web'z You'ze!
Crow -- Cake?
Cheetah -- I Find'z You'ze!
There is a fine and proper artistry to wielding verbal scalpels, such that the crap-poster you've slashed doesn't even know they've been cut.
But verbal bludgeons -- Those are just fun. |
