Edited by: Liol Wongster on 15/12/2010 15:27:48 I think everyone should just quit moaning on about the slight delay, forget trying to teach Americans too dumb to Google - how to tell the time and go (re)watch Clear Skies.

Sorry to be American? Don't be... instead, read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTC
Also, look at the individual forum post timestamps (including your own posts). They use UTC.
You beat me to it! Teaching time-telling to Americans is an amusing way to spend downtime no? ;-)
thank you very much but i am american and i know what utc gmt and usa eastern time are in relation to each other. *sticks out tongue*

UTC is short for "Universal Time Coordinated" and is the same as GMT whitch is short for "Greenwich Mean Time" Greenwich being a part of London and in "im stupid" language its london time zone

Coordinated Universal Time (abbreviated UTC) is the time standard by which the world regulates clocks and time. Computer servers, online services and other entities that rely on having a universally accepted time use "Coordinated Universal Time" for that purpose. Though there are scientific differences between "Coordinated Universal Time" and the time standard known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) - in the very broadest sense as understood by non-scientists, "Coordinated Universal Time" in essence is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). When times are listed as being "UTC" - this is de facto the equivalent of "GMT".

Having personally done hundreds of similar updates of live services over these many years for calling card servicers, I know how pain can sometimes come to the play.
Customers don't want the excuse. They think it is just a simple thing to uploading the softwares.
Many are the days when I wished I were no more than the clueless customer, not having the worries for the processes.
I will be going to the retirement soon, and I must say, I will not miss the environments of the stress and abuses that we programmers and techinicals face with every new load of softwares at the hands of ignorants customers.
The working you provide are good. Let the mobs scream. You do your jobs well and are in appreciation of many around us who are knowing what it is you do.
Merci

Nope.... GMT has summer/winter time, UTC doesn't.

As already posted for Windows 7 - it also works on Vista.
Click your clock -> adjust settings -> additional clocks.
Add one for Eve set to GMT/UTC.
You can then view Eve Time by clicking your clock.

Damnit. Update's been downloaded, installed, patched, and my computer hasn't caught the CCP-Fire-Disease, but I still can't get on.
And I still have writer's block. "Bah" is the only word in the English language which I can thoroughly rely on to get me out of any idiotic conversation. |
