Edited by: Mordibe on 15/03/2011 18:05:22 UI Comments: Like the features (the filter items like Sec checkboxes, etc.)...
but not crazy about the left-side menu location as it eats up too much room. Across the top gives more lateral room for more contract info in a record field.
PS All those whining about getting burned by confusing contracts (specifically the scams), grow some. It's about time you take charge of what happens in your life and pay some attention to the details and quick expecting everyone else to bail your sorry tooshies out. (If I hear one more dumb-@ss complain, "I'm an idjet and I did something stoopid and I toootally expect everybody to drop what they're doing and pamper my whining, worthless existence of a carcass. Wha-whaa...", I think I'll go Super-nova. UGH!)
Now back to your regularly scheduled broadcast, oh, and... Death to the Zerg!!

Didn't want to go through every page - but the collateral doesn't seem to work correctly, if I put 450m as my max it still shows 1.5b col couriers.
Would be really useful as I don't like hauling more than 1.5b at a time!

One thing that could be useful for trading in BPC would be an ability to compare ME/PE levels.
You have 200/100 on a bp and want to know the price range on the bp in contracts.

The one option i would like on contract search under blueprints to be able to select "modules" "ships" "Pos"
etc and not have to search just for certain types of mods
an eg, i invent and wanna see whats listed in term of module BPCs but as it stands i have to look for all blueprints or certain types....
that is just an option i would like and would be handy etc..
cheers

It would be nice to be able to exclude routes that go through null sec/low sec, in addition to just excluding start and end points in those areas. (And possibly exclude high sec routes as well, for those on the other side of the law?) ---- You can't spell "progress" without "ogre". |

I am loving the contracts system, but here are some suggestions I have, based on my thoughts, and my corpies thoughts on the matter.
1. I reccomend that you have a section in the [esc] aera for options.
2. The vertical menu - Give us the option to place it on the top, bottom, left or right [mabie even free floating - multiple monitors]
3. Give us the option to turn off or on the [Find in contracts] contect menu - its great for the contract crazies, but when in PVP or anything else, its not needed.
4. Make contracts viewable in the API - this includes your personal ones that are in progress [full api?] - make the contracts that are public, for corp, for alliance viewable[limited api?] - mabie someone will make a contracts ticker?
5. make it so that trials can use contracts - restrict it to plex trading - pain in the rear to start a alt..

Someone might have posted this already, but there are too many pages to go through; apologies in advance.
Given the level of technology available in Eve (i.e. clones and warships), why is there no easy way to fetch (and sort) all contracts for Item X between a given minimum and maximum price *PER* unit of Item X? When there are a lot of contracts for Item X, it is a real pain to scan through 100+ listings just to find the best rate. This is something that is available in the Market system -- just not the Contracts system.
Consider implementing some of the following: - a 'Quantity' column - an option to view price per unit instead of price for the entire contract - make the [Want To Buy] contract name more descriptive
Even if some of the above isn't possible for mixed item contracts, it would still save a lot of wear and tear on the eyes for non-mixed item contracts. As the user-base expands, you can only expect the number of contracts to increase, and thus for the eye strain to increase as well. It is no fun having to mouseover and scan hundreds of contract tooltips for something as essential as quantity to determine something as essential as price per unit.
Yes, this would probably have a negative effect on scamming, but scams that succeed due to the game's user-unfriendliness have a detrimental effect on the game itself, and thus should not be encouraged anyway. There is a line between scams that happen on a toon level (e.g. "Invest in me and you'll receive greater returns") and those that happen on an out-of-character level (e.g. exploits or fraudulent out-of-game transactions). Even if this is in the gray area, user friendliness has to take precedence, right?
This has to be a no-brainer.

I like the new contracts system, much easier to use and less of a pain than the old system was. I can now enjoy flicking through hundreds of contracts in great comfort.
Thanks alot CCP

A little bug I have noticed from time to time is that the option to warp to pickup or dropoff station from the right click menu in space is often missing after you have done some courier contracts. Red Frog Freight Service -

I really like the contracts search beta. The buy/sell part is close to perfect once I got my preferences set so I didn't get flooded with those want to buy orders. Now for my complaints/recommendations about the auctions: 1. It needs a "watch auction" function if it's going to only let us submit bids in the region we're in. If I have to make the 15 jumps to Jita every time I see something I want to bid on in auctions, I don't want to spend 10 minutes trying to find it again once I get there. 2. On the same note, why are the contract auctions set so we have to jump into that region to place a bid in the first place? Why not just make them global? I would much rather spend my time in the local DED spaces or doing missions than sitting around Jita for hours waiting to see if I got the item I'm bidding on. 3. The search function doesn't work right. If I set a maximum of 100 million, stuff much more expensive than that still shows up. Also, if I set it to show shortest first, each page of the results has some items that will end in the next hour. If I click the "bids" column, it does show the items that have bids above those that have no bids on each page, but it does so randomly; an item with 1 bid might be the top result, with maybe 28, 3, 14, 6, 1, 1, 13 for the next several results. It evidently just parses a "bids/no bids" check, then displays results randomly. 4. The time left on auctions should be a little more precise. It doesn't have to count down the minutes, but maybe "ends in the next 30 minutes", "next hour", "next 4 hours", "next 12 hours" would be good. That way, if we're bidding on an expensive item, we will have a little better idea of whether it's ending in the middle of the night, or whether it's worth staying up late to see if we got it or not. Well, that's all I could think of off the top of my head. Auctions can be fun, but we do need a few bidding tools.

I like the new contracts search - i have 2 comments thought:
1 - I sort them by Date created (newest first) and strangely the first 21 have the current date/time as created date and every time I click search those 21 got there created date moved to current date..... The first few one are the one I'm bidding on so its not so bad but still created date should the real ceation date
2 - i didnt find a way to get only T2 stuff (like T2 BPC or T2 cruiser etc...) like i can do for T3 BPC
Thanks

This is evidently a bug: Tonight I saw an item in another region while I was in Jita; I jumped to that region, and it still showed "less than an hour". I turned in a bid, and it showed that I was the highest bidder, but the time left changed to "less than a day". The timer is only supposed to reset to 15 minutes if somebody bids in the last 15 minutes; it should continue to show "less than an hour" in the description. Also, I noticed that an auction yesterday ended while still showing the "less than a day" tag; the tag showed "less than an hour" on the search box, but "less than a day" on the contract itself. I had planned to turn in a bid, but thought I had plenty of time, since the auction contract itself showed that it was just at the "less than a day" mark, so I went on a 30 minute hunting trip instead of immediately making the 8 jump trip to bid. When I got back and made the jump to that region, it still showed "less than a day", but when I tried to bid, it stated that I couldn't bid on an expired auction.
I think the auctions system needs a little work to fix this and the other problems I stated in the earlier post.

Please can we have fewer clicks/dialog windows for accepting contracts!!, especially those from corp members. How about an override option? For example a blanket option for "automatically accept personal contracts from corp members" and a similar one based on standings; "always accept contracts from contacts with excellent standings".
Failing that a right click "accept" option in the contracts panes, I don't want to *have* to view the contract before accepting it. Also a function to mark multiple contracts and accept them all without having to view each one individually.

Another suggestion about auctions: Why is it set up so that bids increase by 10% of the starting price? Most of the time, an item may be worth more than the 100 million bid, but not as much as the 110 million it will cost to make another bid. Likewise, increments of 100 million for a billion isk piece of faction equipment severely limits the possibility of multiple bids. How about making bid increments of the lesser of 10% or 100k for items worth less than 10 million, 1 million for items over 10 million?
And it would be great if there was a check box so we could easily get rid of those multiple outbid notices on the start page, especially after the auction has ended.
Then there was the fact that the journal kept the "needs attention" notice for an item I had already picked up until server down.
Thanks for at least looking at my suggestions.

I actually found having two separate areas, independent of eachother, for finding contracts to be rather easy. I was able to look up a partial name of an item using the old contracts search, then compare that item with others of the same kind, then proceed to use the "find in contracts" function to see the prices of that other item as well as the others like it. When I was satisfied with comparing I could merely navigate back to the old contract search and go through to list again where I had left off. I just read in the patch noted that the old search has been removed which, I find sad, since the two actually worked so very well together for finding deals and keeping track of things. I'd asked to have it reinstated but that isn't likely to happen, I just merely wanted to inform you that as far as the contract system goes, I was pleased with the two search functions working together for my benefit.

Just check the contract history of most of the people that just say 'Love the new contract system, well done CCP', 'can I lick your....CCP'. These people hardly ever use the contract system! The old system was much better, the new one has delays put into it to help with the load on the database. Should of just refined the old system CCP, less work and would of been better. If it's not broken don't fix it!

Edited by: Gusto Gal on 06/04/2011 01:11:59 Just tried contract search beta. VERY NICE change. The filtering options make it so much easier to get contracts according to my cargo and route specs. If you could add ISK/jump to the summary listing, that would be nice as well.
