When you remove your extractors, ISK is re-imbursed at the original cost. Thus, you basically got to use them for free. Likewise, if you had any PCCs in storage, you have a reimbursement in your wallet based on the difference between the cost of the new PCC and the old one.

done that, does not work. Still desktop is dark after alt-tabbing
X2... kinda sad how well Eve worked before this patch. Went from no issues to dimming, performance probs..the works and I have the latest laptop from HP.
Pentium I7 Radeon 5650 6gigs of ram...
If you haven't done so already, check your video drivers. And just remember: at least it's OpenGL; anything running DirectX wouldn't have a chance of alt-tabbing successfully.

2 major issues for me with the patch thus far:
- Colors disappeared from the overview (neytral/red pilots now show colorless), making combat very difficult
- Portraits immediately loading in local channel makes it very hard to figure out who just entered local, making life very difficult for solo/small gang roamers

Edited by: Plumb Delicious on 19/01/2011 14:35:44 Edited by: Plumb Delicious on 19/01/2011 14:31:36 I didn't see this mentioned yet...not sure if it is working as intended.
New shortcuts for jumping/warping/docking only work after you click on an object in the overview. Not sure if the Overview window needs to have focus or not for them to work.
I was expecting to be able to click on an object in space (not the overview), and use my nav keys such as align to, warp to, dock. That doesn't seem to work.
Also, I was searching for my research jobs in the sci/industry window and nothing was coming up. I eventually found that the "job from/thru dates" fields under advanced search options were defaulted with old dates in 2009, which was causing no jobs to not be found. I don't believe I ever filled out those dates. Removing the dates fixed the issue.
Overall I like the new nav keys, new autopilot route display, and am enjoying checking out all the new character portraits. People need a re-do on the portraits though...many were not wise enough to experiment on an alt first, and saved their changes to their main unintentionally.

Issues with Speed and Character Creation seem to be exclusively graphics card and IS speed related. I have had only minor issues with the character creation and am well aware of my outdated graphics card that is in need of upgrading. If Eve is going to get better in terms of content and looks, then the players need to upgrade their computers every now and then! In any event, it's not the patch that's at fault.
CCP estimated that 0.3% of people would be affected by the CPU compatability problem, and those who have this issue really do have an outdated computer and will probably already be looking to upgrade for other reasons than Eve.
So stop whining!! Am I the only person who feels this way on patch day; give the guys and girls who were up all night busting their asses (not to mention months on the project in the first place) a break!
Have fun!

CCP:
ERRORS I HAVE EXPERIENCED THUS FAR:
1)Trying to modify an order while in space and it says I do NOT have the skills for it yet I know I do and have been doing this for years now. I.E. Buy/sell skills not working properly.
2) I spent 2 hours on my character getting him perfect only to hit SAVE and have been disconnected. I RELOGGED BACK on and found NONE OF MY WORK was saved. Can we please modify the character creator to compensate for disconnects and save work locally to the hard drive or something???

Originally by: Lexang Got killed and my HUD went all crazy. It moved up to about 1/4 of the screen from the top, moved over to the left behind my local window, and the surviving mods still showed even though I was in my pod.
Same thing happened to me... although the DCU made my pod pretty uber, TBH.

When I do that I just see a floating head in empty space. Maybe it has something to do with my graphic card? I have an ATI Radeon X1950 512Mb DDR4.
I have this issue to (and the same graphics card). I resolved this by lowering the graphics settings. After this I saw the rest of the character, but it looks crap.
Ho, hum...

I have this problem.
First, patching went fine. After I enter game, when I alt-tab, monitor is gray (half dark). I first notice that when I had test client on.
Please CCP correct this that can work like before that I can freely use alt-tab.

I am having serious issues with the overview AND local
Neutral Standing characters are getting their colourtag and colourtag background erratically. For some it is working 100% of the time, for some 0% of the time and more confusingly, for some 50% of the time. I rechecked all my settings and filters and nothing has changed. My corp mates report the same problem.
You can get my overview settings and exact setup from Louis's epic overview settings thread.
As I am used to coloured hostiles this is making life difficult in 0.0 ----- Malevolence. is recruiting. Dive into the world of 0.0 !

Be lucky you're able to start the game up after worth. By the way; isnt the grey thing caused by the windows firewall asking to approve eveExe to access internet?
I'm wondering if this might also cause a hash error where Windows firewall is adding a byte to let the firewall know it should let communication between internet en eve pass. In that way the hash is violated and the game wont start anymore.
Just thinking.

Well yesterday I got the message to get the new build. I have Windows XP OS. The build failed. I retried and watched my 2.1 Gig of free memory evaporate before the patch failed again. (Apparently you need 5gig extra free space to install the patch). Since I no longer have room on this drive (even after deleting everything I could find that was expendible),
I uninstalled Eve and spent about 3 hours downloading a fresh client to a different drive(18gig of space available on this drive). When I attempt to log in the server shows as "unknown status". When I attempt to log in anyway, I get the message "Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong." I know I have internet or I would not be able to make this post. I know the server has not been down all the time since people are playing the game. I attempted to download the latest patch and after downloading patch told me I was already up to date. No clue where to go from here.

I spent a great deal of time and isk getting these extractors precisely positioned and balanced in the first place, coupled with the fact that I now have to spend a whole lot more time, effort and wasted isk on replacing the extractors with ECU's, I would like to be re-imbursed with isk for either the cost of the old extractors or the new ECU's required to give me the same extraction processes and amounts as per the old extractors I have in place.
I do not see why this cannot be done in the same spirit as was thought prudent when we were re-imbursed with skill points when the learning skills were removed - (another goal post moving nonsense with which I was far from happy.) This is especially true in light of the fact that with the forthcoming Sansha incursions we could well see a time when we are unable to go near our PI planets in order to service them and collect our PI products without being ganked by either Sanshas or opportunistic non-corp sansha fighting fleets.
I do not intend to make any alterations to my PI layouts until such time as I get a response to this and would therefore be much obliged for a speedy response. If I have got this all wrong and misunderstood the whole mess then I apologise and would be grateful for some guidance on the whole PI updating process.
I would go beyond that. I think CCP could simply substitute new for old extractors and command centers in the item database easy enough. At worst new extraction capacity and routes would need to reentered. Heck I would even pay an upgrade fee on the right click menu if the new PE nodes cost more.
BUT apparently CCP wants to reopen Planetary Exploitation to more people. And since early adopters have taken all the prime easy noob spots...CCP is penalizing us. I suspect that we are supposed to get temporarily discouraged and bail out of PE totally for some time - before succumbing to EVE loyalty and coming back later. Or perhaps CCP sees the first days after patch as similar to when a corp is taking down a POS with enemy corp pirates hovering around waiting for unanchor to complete for the fast snatch and grab. In this case when you pull extractors and possibly command center to update...someone else hovering nearby can drop their stuff on your spot first.

Completely wrong dude. I meet or exceed ALL recommended EVE specs and I am still not able to access the new character generator....
Windows XP SP3 AMD x64 dual core 2.8ghz (which supports SSE2) 4GB RAM More than enough HD space Connection speed fine 1GB Geforce 9750GT card Directx 9.0c and latest video drivers DVD ROM Soundblaster X-Fi card (which supports SSE and is direct sound compt)
It's beefy enough for CCP....so I guess you are flat out wrong. It's not whining when all of us who cant enter the character generator know that in 2 weeks CCP plans to force us to do the new generator before we can enter the game. My account expires before then....do I renew knowing that this COULD be a potential problem which CCP cannot resolve thus preventing me from entering the game?

Please, please, for the love of things, at least acknowledge or say something to those of us who are still getting stuck on the splash screen, and supposedly shouldn't have problems with hardware!!! We just can't play the game, and I personally have spent hours and hours updating reinstalling, etc. Pentium 4 3Gb, a GeForce 6600GT and 3Gb RAM are old but still manage to meet game requirements! You guys haven't even mentioned it anywhere and keep ignoring us. As much as some people will say "stop whining, blah blah, buy a new computer" I daresay we are customers and deserve at least 15Ç attention (per account). I don't have a dinosaur computer, just a fairly old one, but it should still be running this if it was able to run smoothly Battlefield 2 a few years back. Please, acknowledge us and say you are or you aren't working on it so we can decide what to do (like reclaim the money from the just renewed accounts I have). Thank you. |
