Servers work fine. I believe that's somehow related with some db changes like char->varchar2 conversion.

I think of another reason. When we saw it, multiple holes spawned while the "original" hole was to die, wrote it had collapsed, but still was in its place.
For me the normal algorithm looks like: 1. Timecheck - it is time for WH to die. 2. Hole death triggered 3. New hole spawn triggered 4. Original wormhole dies 5. New wormhole spawnes
But in some circumstances now we go without 4. - and it goes in cirlce, spawning more and more new wormholes.

Either way the behaviour is extremely annoying. Same as hardcoded removal of "cosmic signatures" and "cosmic anomalies" from overview. They still exist and decloak you, but you are no longer can see em. Cosmic Anomalies provided a nice far spot to drop probes, make SS etc. - i dont get why we are no longer able to use them. AFK |

This will be very exciting for PvP...
1)catch your static to another WH on End of Life. Camp it till you know it should be gone. 2)spam jump on it and spawn 15 new statics. 3) Go shopping

I have two statics, they go to the same connecting wormhole but are on far sides of our home system. I warp to either one and the hole takes me to the same connection. I have also had our new static spawn when it should +/- a half an hour or so but the old one is not closing when it should. I have had our H296 stay open for 36 hours when they used to be on almost freaky clock work 24 hour accuracy.

For those thinking it is good for PVP - I've already mentioned, that one of such hole had a huge mass-error, leading to our carrier getting stuck, so that's a bad idea.
Or CCP would finally see that something is wrong and you get banned.

1. You get stuck in one of them. 2. CCP bans you for exploiting. (Think about 6-6 hour before DT and a cap fleet).

Gentlemen... ladies...
Eve's storyline is full of references to wormholes having a "trick" or "secret" - this might not be a bug, but a legit discovery about WH mechanics. You might have discovered a new way to navigate.

Live in a C2 I have noticed a change in our c3 static (o477) WH's behavior. But our static (b274) HS has not show any signs of misbehaving yet.
Will update as I learn/observe more. |

Seeing this in a C6 right now. There is a WH industrial corp that essentially has an unlimited number of C6 sleeper sites to run. Over 50 sigs in the system and the first 10 that I scanned down were C6 WH connections. Solar system map looks very similar to the swiss cheese pic above.

I'd really like to know what causes this bug to occur. We had the bug where the wh doesn't despawn with someone on grid when it is really already gone, but no multiple static spawns yet. Also no unusual number of wormholes in systems I have visited.

CCP Dropbear, thx for posting here.
One question - is reported error-collapsing of wormholes checked or only that "multiple statics" bug?
We had an issue while closing such a "bug-static" when the wormhole mass was found to be less then a half of that usual for the hole. There has been some reports of the same, but seems like this is a more rare case. Will you check for possible reasons for that?
PS. I see a screenshot of "multiple statics" bug posted on russian forum, but don't know if that is a new, I've asked for the confirmation and will post here upon the author's answer.

Still happening. Sat on grid with a D792 wormhole from C5 to highsec yesterday past the point I knew it would've normally disappeared, click on it to jump out and got "This wormhole has collapsed". No duplicate wormhole created though because it wasn't a static.

First of all, Thanks for dropping in and taking an interest
I am confirming that this behavior still occurs as of 0200GMT 25 Feb 2011.
If a ship is on grid of a w-space static wormhole, the static will not despawn correctly, and allow the possibility of additional statics to spawn.
I discovered today that there appears to be a direct correlation between attempting to jump through a collapsed wormhole, and an additional static being spawned.

I also put comments into corp chat for all to read, explaining what I was doing.
In a nutshell, I now theororize that for every time a ship attempts to jump through a (bugged) collapsed wormhole, a new sig for a new static copy will appear. Perhaps that's how the "Swiss cheese" was made?

You should spawn about 100 wormholes warp to them all so they open on the oter side.
Enjoy the carnage for then next 24 hours.

Had it happen again on the 22nd. Six new statics spawned and all but one disappeared over DT.
