so when was the announcement going to be made that t2 1mn MWD's were getting a 3 mw power requirement increase?! was just playing around on test server and couldn't figure out why i wasn't allowed to activate my small nos on my taranis....upon looking at TQ and Sing modules i see that on Sing, the MWD takes 18mw, and the TQ version is 15mw...
makes it really hard to fit it on just about any frig, 3mw is way too much an increase....what's the deal?

You can go fast, and you can fight...
However it is becoming abundantly clear that you can not Go fast AND Fight at the same time... given how the combat engine just can't deal with high speed ships.

It's about time something is done about interceptor balance, IMHO.
Tackle or kill, not both, it's just too easy.
I'm going to get flamed for that, but balance is a tough thing to achieve and when you see Tech II frigs everywhere, even owning BSs, something is wrong.

a lone interceptor *cannot* pwn any BS with a semi-decent pilot. what it can do, unless the pilot has countermeasures (eg. heavy noss, neut, hi-tracking guns, drones, long range webber, probly more things too), is hold a BS there until reinforcements arrive. As youd expect from an *interceptor*. and ok, yes, a bunch of them working together can beat a battleship (assuming as before that it doesnt have any countermeasures.) but thats teamwork, and so it should be better than a loner.

This would really, really suck. This would cripple my Taranis setup...can't use a mwd, can't use an AB.
CCP, this is going to be an unpopular decision.

Whoa! Way to totally nerf frigates (not just the TechII ones)...
Please God/CCP/whoever don't let this one go through. Frigs die if you sneeze on them too hard and not being where the big guns can track is about the only hope of survival they have against anything other than another frigate. |

ahhh, thats not so good....
and why with the "stealth nerf" tactics again, Taranis has already been hit once with the light ion changes, now the T2 mwd too?
its just helping the crow be better as far as i can see :/

I'm lucky in that I CAN accomodate a 3 grid change by changing guns down. But there goes all the extra damage that the autocannon boost gave me, so I'm WORSE off relatively than before, considering the inties with more useful boosts AND the ones with a reduction in gun cap use.
Sigh

Of course! People gave a lot of negative feedback on Inties new damage bonuses, so they thought "how do we make them less damaging again, then?" and came up with the solution to make inties much shorter on powergrid and thus forcing you to use one size smaller guns.
And it's so sad that the "second best" interceptor easily can afford this change compared to the other 'ceptors --

or maybe they thught, all tech II modules take more cpu/pg then tech I ones, then why doesnt MWD/AB ?

Originally by: Gierling given how the combat engine just can't deal with high speed ships.
And the only reason the combat engine can't deal with high speed ships is because of the insanity of double-nerfing turrets against fast-movers. Not only do they have to contend with tracking, but they also have to contend with sig radius comparisons against the turret versus the target.
All this nerfing against speed setups just smacks to me of a lack of willingness to resolve the REAL issue, which is the over-importance of speed in the first place.
Rant over.
