Right back at you...
If you go into 0.4, you are clearly accepting that whether you want it or not PvP may come to you. This is easily translated into: If you go into 0.4, you want pvp. -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

You are wrong. The game is about economics , thinking , exploring also. NOT JUST FOR FIGHTING!!! Otherwise , I didnt even start to play.
your completely right but, you have to remember you like not fighting which is all good ccp has givin you many systems to avoid that in, but theres ppl who like fighting and ccp provides them with places to do so. ccp givin all the complaints has even made it easier for ppl who dont like pvp to avoid it by making wcs low slot passive moduals. theres even a map which you can display ship kills in the last hour on which helps alot also, you say the game is about thinking and exploring, which is a perfect show of this by hopin into a fast ship and exploring/scouting the nxt system before you bring a more expensive ship into it. ccp has provided so many things to avoid pvp/pirates that its jst showing that "thinking and exploring" 2 of the things u say this game is about your obviously not doin, because you can easily avoid pirates by doing so.

I never said that 0.4 is for pvp only.
What I said is that by going to 0.4 you are accepting the risk that you may be killed while there. This has been a fact of EVE ever since I can remember.
I tell you what, 0.4 is great for mining too (not that I ever did that). There is lots of cool ore that is worth so much more than the stuff in 1.0.
Why is it worth more? because it is riskier to get. That doesn't seem to stop a lot of the players who mine there. -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

You are particulary right. But CCP did nothing for indy , turned it to easy pick-up.An indy can't defend himself at all (and I don't mean attack , defend only). Every time I meant pirates , it was about Player pirates and not NPC ones.

Indy's are what you use after you scout. You can speed the process up by making something called a "friend". This "friend" can be used to run a jump or 2 ahead of your indy, and ensure the path is clear.
If your scout runs into any trouble, he can let you know that there is danger ahead, and that you should best dock or proceed to the nearest safe spot. -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

Yep I accept the risk to be killed by NPC , AND DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY PvP THERE !!! The lower security - the bigger NPC rats, this is acceptable , but not PvP.
Moreover , you can always find someone for PvP using chat channels !

NPC's are riskier there, yes. If you want to fight high end NPC's in 0.7 systems you can do that too, as I outlined earlier, by getting yourself an agent in a nice high security system. -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

very true indys r particularly defenceless, but as i said above and strengthened by what u listed as main parts of the game "thinking, exploration" jst grab a fast ship and scout ahead before moving a more expensive ship. also it all goes back to wcs indys hav low slots and plenty of cpu to fit them, sure you cant haul as much as fast but as in everything sometimes you hav to replace convieniance w/safety. also fitting a mwd on the ship on manual and clicking it when you start gettin speed for warp makes you go into warp faster.
and i know u meant player pirates

your right but a mwd does make you go into warp faster, and theres wcs for low slots as i said above sometimes as with everything you hav to sacrifice convieniance for safety.

Edited by: xTHE ONEx on 31/01/2005 03:10:51 Will not help. Only thing that will is instant warp. Or Anti-Scramblers for med-slots. Or cargo expanders for med-slots + stabilizers (or nanofibers instead of stabilizers). Or pirate banning after killing in system other than 0.0

Worst... Idea..... Ever.....
This will ruin the game for pirates and anyone who is trying to chase down a ship.
I suggest this idea for a module. It's called a "Tech II Clue".
When you have a "clue", and are flying your industrial ship, this "clue" will help you to realise that it is not meant for running past pirate battleships. Having a "clue" will mean that you won't take your indy into a system you have not scouted. A "clue" often goes hand in hand with the "friend" i meantioned earlier in the thread.

Or a friend in a fast frigate or shuttle to scout gates for you. We do this for each other all the time, nothing better than a friend in a disposable ship to check the gates one step ahead of you :-)

Oh.. my... god....
Just imagine, xTHE ONEx, if you had a SCOUT, you would not need WARP STABILISERS, and you could fit CARGO EXPANDERS instead.
This is the sort of reward you get for team play. I think that our friend Ellandrian D'Amerathe has a Tech II Clue!!!
Maybe you should get one. -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

If you'll think a little : there is no way to use cargo expanders + stabilizers , because both are for low-slots only ! Indy without cargo expanders isn't profitable enough. Someone of pirates offered to ban log-offers , I'm offering to ban PvPers in systems other than 0.0 (this means that pirates will be still able to attack NPC convoys or police or whatever NPC they want BUT NOT A PLAYER.)

Dude, the whole point of 0.4 and less is that you can be attacked there.
The whole point of making Stabs and Expanders both fit in low slots is that there are rewards for teamwork.
Remember that "friend" thingy i told you about??
Well, (and I know this concept is waaaaay out there), you get your "friend" to scout. That way you don't need warp stabs, and can use expanders instead.
If you cant make or buy any "friends", you will have to do 2 trips instead of one. In reality, you are actually better off doing 2 trips than doing 1, because you are actually alive at the end!!! WHAT A BONUS!!! -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

You have to accept the risk as well if you want to venture bellow 0.4. There is a lot of agent sin lower end of space that operate around relative safe places to do missions. If you start do missions in a high risk area and dont take any measures to ensure your safety, thats your own fault.
Instant bookmarks and warpcore stabs can be your friends
You want to have the cake, frosting and the whole works with no effort dont you? Im sorry but thats not the way it works.
