Originally by: Panda Name for minmatar space, i use a semi-afk rattlesnake and a mach. rattler goes in first, takes full aggro, deploys sentries and shoots torps when i'm there to actually push f1. then i concentrate on the mach, shifting back to the rattler every once in a while to shoot torps at something else and to refocus drone fire. a standard dual rep dominix can do the job as well, but a rattler looks cooler.
How about adjusting the rattler to FOF cruise setup and put something heavy on the F1 key?
Would that work or it would kill the sentrys and fleet members etc

FoF does work, but the thing is that if you're dual boxing, you're probably using one computer. Unless you have a macro that sends F1 to all your clients, something heavy on the F1 key would just send the command to your active client (your non-drone boat). Torpedoes are nice since you can randomly pop in to chuck a few 4-5k damage volleys at battleships.
As a question: do drones on "assist" start hitting a target when I launch missiles, or when the missiles actually land?

Edited by: Nemesis Factor on 04/05/2011 20:39:44 Depends on your style. If you like looting/salvaging, I have had some luck with a domi/Gila duo. The Domi goes in and gets all the aggro and put out 600DPS with drones and rails. Then a Gila with expanders, drone rigs and salvaging equipment comes in, adds another 500DPS with heavy drones and starts cleaning up. since you don't need tank you could even put drone speed mods in the mids, makes your heavies as fast as mediums.
Edit: Also, drones lend themselves to dual-boxing. They need very little attention which is good when yours is split between two clients. With my Garde IIs out I usually don't bother with the rails and spend most of my time piloting the Gila toward wrecks. ==================== ~/~ Sultan of Buruni |

Edited by: Auty on 06/05/2011 18:38:55 I use dual mach setup and its pretty solid with t2 800 ac's with falloff and decent skills ur still hitting out to 65k and u can pretty much instapop all the small crap on its approach
Also my setup is a little weird as i use a gist large sb so it perma runs on each mach with 4 gyro's and 3 tracking enchancer's the dps is so high you pretty much melt thru most things before u even have to think about it

TBH, i find that a BS (whatever is best for you) and a Noctis is much better isk than 2 BS. If you really need to use 2 BS for harder missions then a drone boat with sentries set to assist your main is the best since it doesn't require targeting on both accounts.

I've been using Mach+Nightmare for about a month now and in practice it works as well as it does in theory. Fit reasonably minimal tank on both (3 shield mods: whatever the size booster you prefer+2 hardeners) and go all gank setup and you'll rip through missions. I find that Mach pops small stuff better while Nightmare eats BS rats for breakfast.
Can't compare it to Mach+Mach setup though as I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure that'd work equally well too.

I run level 5's with a Paladin - Domi for LP's and loot.
I'll dual box 4's if I need to grind standing for a character. Usually I have one toon in a Kronos running one 4 and another toon in a Golem running a separate 4.
Having two monitors helps. :)

The fastest way would be picking the best ships for the mission ofc instead of being confined into one specific ship. For me personally it is combination of Nightmare, CNR, Golem, Nighthawk. Nightmare is present more often than not and one pilot has laser hardwires in his head, other ship tends to be often Golem and second pilot has missile hardwires in his head.
Ofc it is not possible to just state "this is best way" as it depends on a lot more factors than just your pilots and their skills like, for example, your mission running style, location and so on.

I personally like the Machariel + Drake set up. I use the Drake as the tank. But it is a Drake taken to it's logical conclusion: BC 5, most shield skills 5 including all 4 resists, most missile skills 5. Yeah, call me nuts and yes, it takes a long time to do, but hot damn, I can get mission specific resists to over 90% for Explosive, Kinetic and Therm using Pith Hardeners. Turn on the AB and tank the room while the Mach pew pews everything. I use the Drake to bring down the big guys since with most missile skills at 5, the dps is awesome and the Mach is incredible at taking down frigs and cruisers out to 60km.

1 x geddon, max damage 1 x oneiros w. 4 large remote armor reppers II
Oneiros keep range @68km to the geddon, and geddon ganks everything...works like a charm!

Machariel + Fenrir. I dare you to try to make more money dual boxing 2 combat characters. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Drones will start shooting whatever you activate an offensive module against, be it a railgun, target painter, civilian gatling, or missile launcher. The first three of those will aggress the NPCs immediately, the missile launcher will not.

Would getting an alt really give you that much more isk missioning that paying 380mil/month for the plex would be worth it?

Used HAM tengu and CNR with cruise. Works reasonably well, CNR just sits wherever and fires, tengu flies around to kill other stuff. Tempted to try a mach..
