Everything you described is done by carebears, not everybody is a carebear unless mission runners become shootable in highsec to everyone.

Mission runners are shootable in high-sec by anyone.
Whether or not you succeed in destroying them is another matter...

Smuggling will include the option to shoot players carrying contraband in space, probably even in highsec if they get caught.

umm... no you won't. you'll be loading a station environment in Carbon's "Trinity" graphics engine, which is what the game already runs on. -

beside the point. Razin was talking complete boll(ard)s. I was correcting him. If you don't like getting balcony, pilot and suchlike, TOUGH SPHINCTER CHOCOLATE. HTFU and learn to love the bomb, man.
Just why the hell is having a fractionally higher FPS rate important when you're docked anyway? -

I use that option on my 2006 Macbook (GMA 950) to make the UI (market, ...) usable when docked.
(of course that graphics chipset has been unsupported by EVE for a very long time now but I intend to use it for changing skills, chatting & playing the market when I don't have access to my gaming PC until it refuses to run EVE or breaks)

So if that's your plan, why are you complaining now that it's going to start refusing? if you knew and accepted that eventually that piece of hardware would no longer be able to do the job, how come you're griping about this? -

CCP..... Will we be able to disable loading of this engine when we dock?
One simple answer and half the drama vanishes.
I think the fact that we haven't had that answer makes it pretty clear what that answer will be when CPP is finally forced to reveal it.
Originally by: "Zhim'Fufu" CCP has promised incarna will be feature complete over the course of two major expansions then they will go back to finishing the tower proper but we have heard that song before.
So I guess its down to 'We Will See'.
And we already know this isn't going to happen. We've already had one Incarna patch to add the new avatar, and the next one will add the guy walking around the room.
After those two patches Incarna is clearly nowhere near feature complete and obviously won't be for I dread to think how many patches after that.

Based on the fact that CCP made a public announcement about developing an Incarna-specific engine I was under the impression that spaceships and avatars would be rendered using two completely different 3D engines. Knowing the respective environments' limitation parameters it makes sense. Just saying "no you won't" without siting some source doesn't give you any credibility. ...

Based on chatter in the test server forum, it should be on Singularity in a week or two.

Some Ressource Files are already included into the Test Client and the Fanfest presentation made it clear that EVE, Dust, WoD and of course the Incarna part of EVE are all based on the Carbon-framework, where the trinity graphic engine is part of.

Well, we do know that DUST will be using the Unreal engine, which will not be used by Incarna (and is definitely not used by EVE-the-spaceship-game), so being "based on the Carbon-framework" (even if taken as an accurate statement) doesn't mean having the same rendering engine. ...

In my dev blog I mentioned that we're aiming to deliver a Work in Progress, development version of the Captain's Quarters to the Singularity test server.
Unfortunately I bring bad news. This will have to wait until after Fanfest.
Normally taking a version of the static data (gameplay values of EVE, or simply content) into a production build for deployment and quality assurance is a straightforward process. With Captain's Quarters we ran into issues with the sheer mass of changes, sneaky legacy static data changes that have never been in a live production build and defects masking other underlying defects. In the end we simply ran out of time in our deployment schedule to get the build into your hands on time.
We'll unveil the details on this first Incarna feature in the coming Friday at Fanfest. This will include what's been developed so far, what will be done before the summer expansion and the plans we have for Incarna features in the expansions to come. I'll get back to you with an updated test server date after we have recuperated from the coming week of healthy sports and some modest recreational activities.
Sup CCP Chiliad, are you lot back from your alcohol induced comas yet? About that test server date...
