Originally by: Major Slaphead Now this is the story all about how The Eve online servers got taken down And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there Now take a moment about how I can help you with your dispair
In the last few hours the alarms were raised Where you couldnt log in on you months remaining days You tried chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool And all shooting some 8 ball in online pool When a couple of Dev's they were up to no good Started exstending the downtime & noone understood You got all eager to fight and some got scared And said yo forget it im posting on the forums in this dispair
You worked out what to post and grabbed another beer Took a shower said "fresh" and popped some zits mirror If anything I could say that this game was yeah But I thought nah, forget it, back to the angry stare.
You waited up for 7 hours or 8 And I yelled to the keyboard "yo forget it till later. Looked at yourclock & it was final there To sit in your computer seat playing your carebare.
This is perfect if you use the tune from "Robin hood men in tights"

Why is this download so big, I don't c y. I live in South Africa and internet is not exactly cheap. 735mb For mainly a code change I don't get it. This update now cost me as much as I pay for eve for four months. I don't mind paying for eve its a grate game but this constant downloading of massive patches are killing my wallet, please distribute your patches for free with gaming magazines or something or keep your code smaller. During my 1 year eve live I got 7 fellow South Africans to play & pay eve for a few months but after the last couple of patches they 5 of them dropped the game because they cant afford to download the continues big patches that never stop, and the patches are not available in popular gaming magazines. Please we are not all millionaires, and some of us stay in countries were internet is not cheap.

Originally by: Astalia Black The particulars of the game are a side issue. What bothers me is that this is a game that is paid for time and the service is not being delivered
Why don't CCP simple compensate by an hourly rate based on the average plex proce in game currently when this downtime happens per hour downtime.
At least there is recognition of this critical aspect that REAL cash is being paid to play this game and the players are respected for this as customers.
1: You CAN play for free if you're not a noob :p 2: Sure it's being paid for, but they're giving you free expansions and whatnot.. I don't think you're in your right to complain about a few hours

We pay for a service with real cash. There is nothing unreasonable about expect recognition to be compensated for a lack of service.
If you think getting faulty goods and other items in real life is fine as well (which is inferred as being acceptable by you) and you are told "tough" then it really is your own problem and your own loss.
We pay for a service
THEN GIVE COMPENSATION FOR LACK OF IT !

Part of your subscription is also agreeing to Terms of Use / Service. If you actually read it, as with ANY other online game, you'll see that they have no guarantee of up time, and specifically mention down time, sometimes extended, as part of the service. You coughing up the money to play, or plexing your account, is agreeing to those terms. CCP owe none of us anything.

I think he means that the terms are unreasonable and can be a killjoy to an otherwise great game during these extended downtimes.
Respect to the programmers working to get the upgrade up and running
