Dodgy Past and Anddeh McNab are BOTH right.
Estel gave a lot of his time and effort to this game and a lot of it's players. So much, in fact, that he had enough of a reputation for being trustworthy that I contracted him to help me start a corp with standings enough to drop a tower in highsec.
Can't think of one other person in this game with that much integrity behind their name and yet the trolls can't contain themselves...not even ONE time. (who am I kidding...they couldn't keep their mouths shut if their lives depended on it)
Dear trolls... ..!..

I agree, on pretty much everything, but I think certain things should be addressed and looked at.
1st. The mockup of "the new forum" is something that is...well bad. Just bad. So very very bad. I understand the pressure they have and that one really can't sped "millions" into a forum. It's still ONLY a forum. Still loosing the complete security of it...incompetent. Period.
2nd. Lower level of communication. Well one has to understand that when there were a lot less people active in the forums the communication between devs and such was better. When forums get bigger you loose that personal touch. This also applies to everything. Not only the forums. Petitions etc. Eve gets bigger and maintaining the community also becomes harder. Not to mention that A LOT of their times goes into moderating and keeping the community in line. That leaves less time to the respond. That's normal.
3rd. EVERY SINGLE TIME A FORUM GETS REBORN...all hell breaks loose. People stop posting etc. New forums that trash the old database are always in the same situation. Lack of interest and practical information. There is no good way of getting a new forum, but at some point it has to be done. It's never nice. Then it just starts the growth again and after years, one has trash it again. The first weeks are always full of: flame, trolls, old questions asked YET again (as nobody bothers to search the old forums...) and basically morphs the whole community back to their pre-teens. Which is not always bad. Forums have a lifecycle. Always.
Ps. "i was planning to stop posting at 7500" wtf? No phun intended, but who makes a goal like that? Shame to loose a asset like you Estel, but I understand you.

Sorry to see you go. TBH I'm in quite similar boat. Something went horribly wrong with this last patch. So wrong it has shaken my belief in CCP considerably as well.
I'm in top 100 ;) Just looked up in EVE Search. Not as good as top 50 or top 10 but I care a lot about EVE and the last patch was bucket full of cold water on my head. Like WTF is going on in there ?
PS. My stuff. Should I go permanently it will belong to my corp. They deserve it after all these years more than anyone else.

err because he's not just a forum celebrity!!! This due basically setup a clone service in EVE which allowed you to create jump clone literally anywhere you wanted without having to grind up and standings. I never used it but even I knew who he was and what he did.

If it lessens your frustration, it is not the first time CCP simply ignored a lot of reasonable feedback from testers and I'm very sure it won't be the last time. I have seen it quite a few times over the years.

The ****ty new forums were actually making me enjoy the game less. My enjoyment came back when they shut down those forums and restarted these forums.
*The worst features were that godawful font that was blurry as hell for reasons I can't fathom. The new forum's insistence on jumping to the last page on a thread when you clicked the title, or even a random page chosen by some ****ty algorithm. The slow loading time. And the avatar fade ins.

Damn some of you are sensitive fragile flowers. Did anyone consider that your suggestions were noted and incorporated in the next round of forum development? That their primary work was to get a functioning framework first? And, then return to incorporate suggestions?

This topic will have been read by a CCP employee and Id bet my left nut that nothing has been forwarded to the corresponding department.
I feel the OP has a very legit reason for wanting to quit the forums, ofc this isn't just about forums its CCPs general state of mind in question here. CCP has done what ALL companies do when it gets to a certain stage.
A. Small company fighting to place itself into the market
B. Small company takes off and gets a few great deals to help it grow
C. Small company now expands due to great demand for product
D. Lot more money flowing into company now
E. Small company is now a leader in its field and no longer a small company.
F. Company director has now changed from a person who listens to customers and does EVERYTHING to please them into a money money money orientated person.

This is stupid. You should feel bad for posting this.
This is an internal matter; it is VERY LIKELY that someone's getting chewed out for causing this issue in the first place. While they're busy dealing with that, what are they going to tell you?
Contrary to what you apparently believe, fixing internal issues takes considerable precedence over placating emo-forum-ragers. Always.
