OK... let's see now... 14.95 Euros a month is approximately 22 USD a month, which, at 30 days @ 24 hours/day, works out at roughly 3 cents per hour. How would you like to receive your 9 cents refund then...?

I've been telling CCP for years to pad their downtimes during client updates. Setting client expectations is a key part of your business. Running an MMO requires near constant attention to details, one of which is setting client expectations.
I've also recommended a number of books for the powers-that-be at CCP to read. Surely if English is the issue you can get a copy in your own native language - title like CMMI for Development, Winning with Software (or pretty much anything else written by Humphrey) - all of these books describe the same basic principles behind driving a successful software development organization. All of these books talk about setting client expectations and understanding the repercussions of slipped deadlines.
Continuing to release crappy, untested patches full of bugs that are self-evident on the testing servers, followed by a lackluster approach to resolving the issues created by the crappy patch, do not bode well with the Eve community at large. Remember - we're your clients and setting our expectations to be 'CCP is surely going to f*ck this up' and 'yeah, 13:30 my @ss!' isn't in the best interest of CCP, yet you continue to do it every single GD time you patch. 'Oh yeah, it'll only take us a couple of hours to deploy a patch' can't possibly cross the minds of anyone who works there unless they're criminally insane. History demonstrates that CCP never releases a bug free update, never releases even the smallest patch on time or within the deployment window CCP calculates and provides to their clients and never clearly communicates with their primary stakeholders - your players. You're sleeping at CMMI Level 1. These are symptoms of a failed process. So, again I suggest someone over at CCP pull their head out of their #ss and pick up a couple good SEI/CMMI books. I know it will again fall on deaf ears, but it makes me feel better having said it, so nyah! :P
Seriously, love the game - hate the executives forcing developers to release crappy untested patches. We expect this kind of behavior from the likes of Microsoft, not from the likes of CCP.
Oh, and one last note since it's kinda pertinent - releasing Dust514 exclusively for the PS3 (and excluding your entire Eve Online PC/Mac user base) is f*cking ******ed. Seriously. It's the worst decision I've seen CCP make since they tried to fix nullsec and made it worse. I understand why you're doing it, it's much easier to focus on a single platform and take advantage of all of it's strengths while avoiding it's weaknesses... but it's a stupid GD reason and you're alienating hundreds of thousands of Eve Online players all over the world. Just my two cents on that.
Who the hell is running that place these days anyway? Fire his @ss! He's not doing CCP any favors. Clearly.

The game is usually running 23 hours a day. What the hell do you think CCP does if there's a database crash at 4 AM their time? There is obviously staff in the building. And since it's most likely database staff a simple DT for database maintenance can be done any time of day. I doubt the entrie staff rolls out of the building at 11:00 UTC and then returns at 11:30 UTC. However, that might explain the need for extended DTs. The line at the coffee shop was just too long.

i see u like to play female characters, so u know all about female population ... nice CCP is doing that wrong in the last few years, patch after patch, glitch after glitch, bug after bug, extended downtime, and name it .... it is time to reconsider about CCP politics and get rid (like u say) woman thinking, when they stop production in direction of COSMO EVE: World of Barbie then in eve again will be logic and all will make sense ...

You note the post was about "game time" not "available time". I suggest that you, along with everyone else on Eve, does not play 24X7. If you are mostly asleep during DT (which most US players ARE), then you lose nothing of your available "game time". If however you play 7 hours a week, and unscheduled DT occurs during that time then a loss of two hours equates to a big percentage of your "game time", even if it is only a small proportion of your theoretical "available time".
Maybe additional DT should be split across different times so we all get a fair share of inturruption to our "available" time. If any of the DT's in the last year had occured between 02:00 and 08:00 eve I would have lost a total of no "game time" even though "available time" would have been reduced by 25% - I suggest for you such a setup would have caused a much bigger loss!
If we are to continue to have unscheduled DT then please can we either a) spread the pain around by using different times or b) add any unscheduled DT to our accounts each month so those of us who get DT in our prime times don't get a disproportionate hit.
Other than that keep up the excelent work on the greatest game in the universe, and I won't now have to mow the lawn until the next unscheduled DT..

Not all problems the eve exe file shows are problems with the eve exe file.
Developers usually embedd errors in codes to avoid causing worse problems when one problem with YOUR computer prevents it from working properly. This happens often because: - Another application uses resources EVE use and dont have the courtesy to ask for it first (seems a joke, but avoiding tech talk, that is exactly what happens). - Your machine doesnt have resources for EVE, or for "double EVE". One step is to open the Task Manager and at the performance tab look how much of your CPU and Memory is used when running one, and then two instances of EVE. - Remeber that EVE uses tons of services and processes that arent in EVE exe, and when EVE calls one of them and THESE processes or services result in error, the error will most likely be attributed to EVE exe, not the faulty or otherwise broken process called.
I am now running 4 EVEs and testing theses issues, and it seems most problems are solved. When I try run 5, it get laggy, but still working. When I open a 6th EVE, it crashes, because my PC CANT HANDLE that much. So if you have problems running more than one instance of EVE, make sure your PC can handle that much. Minimal or Recommended hardware are based on only one instance of EVE running.
Although the carbon thingy really made EVE a little more heavy, I still running 4 instances the same way I used to run before. And my distribution missions done by the 4 at the same time never resulted in crashes.

All my crashes since 1.6 Patch, aside from 1: Conditions: 1]Client that crashed was minimized; 2]I was autopiloting several jumps; 3]Crash always occurs right after jumping;
One oddball, my toons [2 clients] were orbiting each other within 2500m of a gate, and both clients hanged simultaneously, maybe affected by someone jumping.. >.<

When jumping, you are actually changing the session you have in one "instance" of a solar system to another. You have an option to observe the session changes, doing it can be helpful. The simultaneous change coupled with any Internet issue you have, or if your Internet cant handle it properly, will result in a crash.

:) i have i7 860, 5770 ATI card, 8GB RAM, 1000 GB Drive, Win 7 64 Home Premium, Comcast [ISP], hardwired to my router, can easily stream Netflix to 2 PCs and still play Eve without skipping a bit, both clients barely utilizes 10% of the CPU, and on average i can't even use more than 20% of my CPU in normal use and just below 50% of my RAM, so i don't really think that's an issue on my internet connection or my system :))

11:00-11:30 UTC = 7-7:30 AM Eastern Daylight. East Coast, Central and hell even Mountain and Pacific guys (and girls) will be awake depending upon work/family/party schedules. If it's a day off meant/reserved for playing EVE then it's a big loss. I work a flexible schedule but still get up early enough every day to get at least an hour of time on the server before DT.
