Hi
I tried running a shield harmonizer link as fleet booster.
But I did not notice any chance in resistance amounts via the 'fittings' Tab, when in space.
I have all the skills ( havn't used the slot 10 implant ), etc
What am I doing wrong ... I thought there was suppose to be a good percentage increase ? ( Is it effected by some dimensioning returns ? )
Does anyone know what the % increases each of the links brings ... sorry couldn't find any exact info on them...
Much appreciated

Was your fleet set up correctly to pass bonuses down the command chain?

Is the boost chain correctly set up and functioning? Were every in the same system? Did the right people have the right leadership skills? Was the right person (you) assigned as the booster?
As for the percentageà you can look up some of the information at the bottom of the gang assist modules page.
All links (or almost all at least ù can't think of any exception off the top of my head) give you a base 2% bonus. This percentage is multiplied by your [Type] Warfare Specialist level ù at lvl I, it's still only 2%; at lvl V, it's 10%.
If you have the Warfare Link Specialist skill, it increases the bonus by 10% per level. Note that it is percent, not percentage points, so you don't simply add them all together, but use them to modify the base bonus value. At lvl I, you get a 10% bonus so that base 2% becomes 2.2%; at lvl V, you get 50% bonus, so that base 2% becomes 3%. Combine the Warfare Specialist V and the Link Specialist V bonuses, and you get 2% + 5 + 1.5 = 15%.
If you're in a fleet command ship, or some other ship that provides a leadership bonus, the same thing applies: at lvl I, you get a 3% bonus to the bonus if you're in a command ship, for instance (so the base 2% becomes 2.06%); at lvl V, you get a 15% bonus to the bonus (so the base 2% becomes 2.3%). Again, combined with the Warfare Specialist and Link Specialist skills, this starts to rack up: 2% (base) + 5 (lvl V Warfare specialist) + 1.5 (Link Specialist V) + 1.15 (Command Ship V) = 17.25%.
If you have the correct mindlink, you also get another flat 50% bonus to the bonus, applied in the same fashion: those 17.25% now become (17.25 + 1.5 =) 25.875%.
And finally, yes, if the attribute you're boosting is subject to stacking penalties, so will the leadership bonus be. Since most people fit hardeners, for instance, the resistance boosts will almost always be penalised in some way. In addition, you need to remember how resistances work in general: a 20% boost to your resists does not show up as a resist value that is 20 points higher ù it will all depend on what the resists were like before that final boost was applied. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Siege Warfare Link: 2% Siege Warfare Specialist: multiplier Siege Warfare Mindlink: 50% Warfare Link Specialist: (1 + Warfare Link Specialist * 0.10) Vulture: (1 + Command Ships * 0.03) Tengu: (1 + Defensive Subsystem * 0.05)
Max Skills in a Tengu:
2% * 5 * 1.5 * (1 + 5 * 0.10) * (1 + 5 * 1.05) = 28.125%
It is best to use EFT to setup a boost pilot & ship (leave them open), and then select that for bonuses on the ship you want to evaluate.

ok
I have Leadership V, Siege warfare V, Siege warfare Specialist IV and Warfare Link Specialist IV.
I have no Siege Warfare Mindlink.
And those I am boosting have only Leadership V, Siege Warfare IV and Warfare Link Specialist IV.
Iam using a Vulture atm .... so all this means not much of boost ?
Also most people seem to recommend using a T3 ship for boosting .... is there anyone that preferred or easiest to fit , etc ?
Again , Thanks for all the info.
ps. some T3 fit-outs suggestions ?

T3 are preferred because A) they have a slightly higher bonus than command ships and B) they can fit Covert Ops Cloaks and C) they can be made unprobable*.
*generally speaking, the fleet command ships are kinda bad to fly (especially if fit with 3x warfare links) so almost always this role is "afk'd" since the bonus ship only needs to be in the same system, not on the same grid, as the pilots it is boosting. AFKing a ship in battle is bad unless you're sitting inside a POS, but you won't have a POS in every system you may potentially get a fight in, so a safe spot is the next best thing. Except safe spots can be probed, unless your ship is unprobable (there's a wacky formula, but generally speaking Sensor strength > Sig Radius)
Thus this role can be served by an alt char flying a cloaking T3 who warps to safe spot, uncloaks & turns on the links.

Clicking show info on the link when its fitted should show you the percentage bonus you should be getting. There are 2 possiblities for why you aren't getting any noticable bonus.
1) You have no many resist mods fitted already that stacking has gotten really bad and the additional resists aren't changing your resists by much. 2) (more likely I think) You are the only person in your fleet in the solar system or you don't have the fleet hierarchy set up correctly to receive boosts.

how big was the gang you were boosting? If I'm correct, leadership 5 only allows you to boost a single squad (the one you're in) ---

Also bear in mind that you don't receive your own boosts, so if you're looking at resists on the ship running the links you won't see any changes there.

This is incorrect. As long as you have someone else in your squad, you both receive the bonuses. --- This doesn't even seem to be a regular case of rats fleeing the sinking ship. Seems more like the rats are on fire, the ship is on fire, and the sea is full of drunk Russians. - Jacob Etienne |
