Just be aware that things like that can effect your credit rating and/or get you into issues which involve the phrase "unusual behaviour".

I prefer Avast, it has more features in the free version. and has a nice silent running mode which I like. But its good to back it up with other brands that you don't run all the time, but use occasionally for full system scans, all of them have failings but they usually cover each others blanks.
Then use a proper web browser like FireFox, and use add/script/cookie blockers, have a good firewall... and then apply common sense.
Even though i prefer Opera as browser: everything he said.
Usually NOT IE works ;-) Also if you're on AOL.....
Well let me put it this way, when my Fathers company decided to roll out Broadband to all the partners and he asked if we could shop around rather than just go with the recommended BT (who were expensive) ... They said yeah sure.... Just not AOL... They weren't prepared to allow anyone on AOL connect to their network...

It's been a while now, can we get an official CCP response to these current server unknown status issues?

http://www.robtex.com/dns/eurorings.net.html
EDIT: Via the link above, it seems that Eurorings has been blacklisted, due to spam.
It seems that Eurorings.net would be a Vector for the Lulz spammers.
This makes sense as they are based in France/French nationals.
See here: http://www.robtex.com/dns/eurorings.net.html#blacklists
Quoting myself to draw attention.
With a touch of investigation, I think that one of the main routes for people to connect to Tranquility has been blacklisted; Ergo: We cannot connect.
Try refreshing/flushing your DNS to resolve.
Does not resolve.. Also, the IP address I am connecting to is the same as everyone else who is able to connect so, that leads to either a bad node in the balancer or, blocking of known bad IP ranges/hosts..

I'll bet you everyone not connecting will get destination host unreachable from somewhere on the eurorings network just like the guy above me is saying.
eurorings is owned and run by KPN International Network Services. They operate a large Fiber optic network. I don't know if that blacklist is whats causing it as some of the blacklist records go back to march 2009. But this company seems to be a major part of European Backbone.

As per CCP's request:
So much rage for such a small amount of time lost on the scale of things.
Very rarely is EVE unavailable for people whose prime time gaming hour is about now.
Whereas people with a prime time gaming time nearer to DT have to experience DT (which is just luck of the draw) but also have to put up with upgrades, patches of patches and extended DTs for server start up failures.
These things happen, but any forum griping results in howls of contempt from others posting from other time zones. Insults and all types of abusive comments fly where the default position is personal attack without consideration for the frustrations of others.
So I have sat here watching all this unholy rage unfold in front of this as for the first time a group unable to play for the first time in what must be a very, very long time post in a manner that makes me wonder why CCP even bother to keep the forum open.
People who is the Oceanic region who have had patch after patch and extended DT for months don't rage for free skill points, nor demand compensation for lost gaming time.
I could simply repeat all the usual comments that in our geography receive to you if we even mention extended outages, but I won't.
Just remember how you feel now when we lose several evenings of play for your benefit and dare to complain.

DDoS attacks by their very nature tend to stress out all the pipes around/leading to the target server. That coupled with the potential for ISP's to get overzealous in banning IP's .... __________________________________________________

Edited by: IsoMetricanTaliac 2 on 15/06/2011 02:21:12 I find it interesting that the EVE cluster it's self is now also a target of DDOS. (Something that has been happening to many alliances/coalitions Forums/TS etc for a long time when facing certain entities)
Isn't taking part in these types of activities against the law?
Yes it is also interesting that Sony's gaming Network is attacked & not all that long after CCP announces that it will be going PS3 exclusively for it's upcoming release it also becomes the target of an attack. With any luck this might be the straw that breaks the horses back & CCP will move to stamp out completely all the RMT'ing & other illegal crap that is going on within it's gaming network.
I am not sure who would be behind the attack but I know like many others that this is not the first time this sort of tactic has been used against players of EVE. Here's hoping it's stopped before too much longer....
As for credit cards, I have always had a policy of flat refusing to use a credit card over the internet & each & every time something like this happens I know that I have nothing to worry about which saves a whole lot of stress etc. (Virtual credit cards or pre-paid ones work very well & make buying things at least 65% safer....

Well it is more then being booted off when trying to log for me. Aything Eve, in google search did not load. I also now am gettine an error in the exe. file saying it may be corrupted, or modified. Please use the repair exe. to fix. Well now I ran the repair file over a dozen times, My Virus protection said it was safe, and I was told eve was successfully repaired each time.
Well not for me, I still get that same error everytime I try to log in. My server is up, now, but am unable to log on my end still. So all the traing I was planing on doing today I can not, hell, I do not even know if my traing was successful from yesterday, cause I can not log in. If I have to reinstall all Eve again, do to the servers crashing, well, I may just move onto another game. Getting late here, so after work tommorrow, going to see if it will take several hours to download the client again. If it does, then I am done with Eve. It was fun while it lasted but this corrupted issue, from a server crash on Eves end is unacceptable. Will see tomorrow.
Peace!

alright, its getting very annoying now, i got D/C'd around an hour ago, having just lost a domi, i want to get back and fit a new one, i've reset all my hardware and the software, so CCP its now in your court, all i want is my game back, and a replacement domi, but unfortuatly im not covered by the reimbursement policy for personal hardware/client failure, so it sucks to be me therebut none the less, if you would so kindly return me to the service i am paying you for i will be along my merry way
