actually i think the textures on the dominix are the best by far. nice detail in it.
It does look like a giant floating turd though, but thats besides the point :p
250's are definitely more versatile, but All the cool kids are using 280's. |

Minnie ships are ugly cos they're held together with Evo-Stik,Duck Tape, Hopes and Dreams... don't attempt to change direction too fast or the duck tape holding your atillery on will fail, and all you defenses with go floating off into space

I *HATE* how the griffin that has these sideways ass engines.. Now..i know "eve" technology isnt like thrust based and they could just be exhaust which cause no thrust..but..boy does it drop the illusion of reality..it'd be really cool if those jets fired ya know..when you turned..not just all the time :P
And .. most minnie ships are ugly :( - I feel bad for them. Dommi's are like..ive left better things in the loo when after eating mexican food :S
Amarr ships, yay, arma's are nice - arbitors are gorgeous..along with the elite frigs. Caldari are nice in there own way, osprey's and griffins are..bleh. Gal ships are nice, save dommi and some of the more oddly shaped ships.
Just my 2 cents. :P

My ospreys have always been named "Space Turkey" for they look exactly like a freakin turkey. I don't see the roach, but, it does get my vote for the ugliest ship.

My vote goes to the Osprey, however, I dont really see a roach so much as a bloated tick when I look at one.
Runner up, at least to me is the Brutix, can not really figure out if its supposed to look like something.

I don't think the Caracal's too bad, it just looks a bit fragile by Caldari standards, like maybe they paid a Minmatar to design it or something.

Also the Dominix. It's been said before, it looks like a HUUUGGGEEE turd that was seeded from a space lychee!!
IMO I think the caracal does not look bad. It looks like a skinny bird and it looks fragile (which it is), but I wouldn't exactly say it looks bad.
I think the Matari ships look like flying scafolding. It might not look very sharp, but it does conform to the Matari character pretty nicely. One thing's for sure though, you'll NEVER cach me flying a matari ship (except the sexy sexy Mammoth) ever!

The flying space turd.
I mean, really... whoever designed the original game vessels must have been a one-eyed pot head to design ships like that. Radial assymetry is like... so disgustingly annoying. What'd they do, yank Picasso out of the ground to design these things?
At least the BCs and most destroyers look a heck of a lot better.
Ever look at rat ships tho? Zippy, sharp, clean and symmetrical. THOSE should have been the player ships. A rat BS is a handsome monster, hands down.

To me, Caracal looks like a Bird of Prey from Star Trek. Pun intented :P
If I had to choose between a caldari shuttle and minnie shuttle, caldari one wins 1000-0 :P Minnie shuttle just looks... fugly.
Personally I love the designs of Caldari ships ^^ Cormorant looks like a weapons platform it's inteded for :D

What I love is that hardly anyone mentions the same ship.
And that's the whole point - beauty to you isn't beauty to me.
What remains is that EVE has amazing ships. Everyone has a favorite. And they are *completely* different to the next person's favorite. That shows a staggering amount of creativeness by the developers, which people often overlook.

I love my girlfriend's Typhoon. I call it 'The Maw in Space' - it looks very much like the giant planet-eater from original Trek, freaky scary! 
As for the Caracal, well I always thought that it was the most elegant Caldari ship around. I mean, it's actually symmetrical, isn't it?  Oh yeah, and as for what it looks like, take a peek at some stills from the old 70s UK space series 'UFO'. Yes indeed, someone in Rejkyavik likes the moon-based interceptor!
My Osprey was the first cruiser I ever flew. Even my pride at owning such a mighty ship wilted when I looked at it though, I ended up calling it the 'Flying Slug'... Was quite happy when it blew up!

ugliest ship is the caracal.
moa is nasty as well, but at least it looks like something a caldari would design.
the scythe and a good number of minmater ships look cheap. Textures just don't fit.. typhoon, tempest, rifter all look mean as hell though. Sure those 3 look ugly, but in a way that they're suppose to.. by minmatre design.
scorpion and raven dispoint me a bit. I feel caldari ships are a bit low res compared to gallente and amarr ships. Especially compared to the brutix or dominix.. hell, even the megathron. I wish most caldari ships would get a retexture.. especially the older ones.
amarr has the best looking ships in the game. second is the gallente. then minmatre then caldari. The last 2 are a technical problem, not an artistic. Their physical designs are nice but textures need a rework to match up with highres gallente. Amarr's color scheme/ship design means it doesn't need much on texture work, so their ships look nice reguardless.

I think the Amarr shuttle is the best looking. Note the advanced stealth techniques that prevent enemies from working out which way you're facing
It also has that funky animation which is supposed to mean something but somehow just looks slightly obscene

As much as I love the Domi to fly, I have to agree that the shape looks a little erm... turd-shaped...
I like the Caracal and hey... don't diss the Tristan... that little ship's seen me through some rough scraps in its time...
I think the Caracal could use a slight change though - make it more curved perhaps.
My prize for the most disappointing must go to the Thorax - it would be a truly beautiful ship if it was symmetrical...

I wish we had some sense of scale as to ship vs pilot. The Raven seems huge. Do we have crews? If so, who are they? 'Insufficient data coming through' on this subject.

I once thought the Rifter was a darn sexy ship. I used to pan the camera around and admire it from different angles while docked. Then one day I aligned the camera such that the front of ship was pointed straight down and I was looking from top view. It looks like a pair of slacks on a clothes hanger!! Worse still, take a gander at the location of the c ockpit.... From then on I called it the C.0.C.K.pit ship...

Eve's ugliest ship hands down has to be the caldari shuttle. Everything else is themed somehow "amarr big gold sharp curves, caldari looks like birds, minmatar looks like a space heap, gal looks like green and blue frenchy stuff... but the caldari shuttle looks like a radio flyer with wings. I mean that thing is ugly. I actually buy other shuttles that cost MORE sometimes riduculous amounts just so I don't have to be seen in that ugly ass thing. |

Minmitar - err they aren't great looking generally
Tristan looks awesome, especially in the official screenies. Maulus, atron, thorax, vexor, brutix, catalyst, ares and taranis all look good. Kessies, merlins, caldari shuttles, scorps and raven are ok. All amarr ships are pretty good bar the Augoror. Im not so good on my minmitar ships, but they were made for convenience, not for looks.

also some have graphical bugs.... like please for cripes sake fix the Omen's jet streamers so that they come off of the engines and not 3 meters below them!

All Caldari ships are pretty ugly in general. The Mimiatar are not much better, but at least they got that junk yard look that keeps them looking cool. For example, the tempest is by the ugliest BS, yet looks so damn cool flying around in a fleet. Proably because it is the tallest of them all and stands out.

Yes, the destroyers & BC's look very, very nice (except for the gallente nightmares).
Cormorant looks sharp as a razor... until you get to the tail end and there's this... projection sticking out the left side.

I really can't say much as to which ships look better or worse, as all the player ships tend to be ugly as roadkill skunkturds.
But good lord just reading what some of you folks have made comparisons to has me in complete stitches, I laughed so hard I had tears coming outta my eyes.

Along those lines. Ya think the Eve art dept had those sorts of comparisons in mind when they made these vomitous designs? 'Cause if they weren't stoned they were suffering from a serious case of Thorazine Overdose.

Bantam is definately the ugliest ship... it looks like someone designed a ship then at the last moment decided to add a cargo hold.
Ironically its name says it all... the cargohold is just a big set of udders.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

I think the Domi's just fine (see my sig)
the stower however reminds me of a giant slug and the apoc is a little bland for my taste.
