Sometimes I found myself wondering if you guys could possibly still be working on stuff normally, or if you were just sitting in the office talking about how mad everyone was.
Glad to see that stuff is still happening o7 o7 ---

Issues with incarna:
- New turrets are nice, but too dark compared to everything else. It is almost impossible to see the turret-icon on the target. So if I have 4 things targeted and gun is active, it is really hard to see what the gun is shooting at.
- Loading CQ takes a long time (compared to loading the hangar before incarna). This means docking and swapping ships takes longer than it needs to. And this have made me uncheck "Load Station Environment". Would be nice if this was made into a tri-choice ("Load CQ", "Load Hangar" and "Don't load"). And of course an "Enter CQ" button in the hangar.

I've seen questions about this twice in the last 10 minutes or so in GD.
Can someone please explain the ship bonuses issues? What bonuses are not being applied? Skill bonuses only, or also rig/module/booster bonuses?
Do you recommend setting our shield/armour/structure HP display to absolute numbers instead of percentages so we can visually verify all is correct?
Originally by: "Patch Notes" Skills
An issue causing skills to not be applied to ships has now been resolved. This will be addressed in a future release. Currently you can apply a workaround which is to relog in a station or Log off in space, wait until your ship gets removed from space and then log back in.

Any details on how exactly this bug triggers? What skills are affected? Is it random? Will I need to relog multiple times in a day due to this? Will reimbursements be made if we happen to lose ships while affected by this bug?
This seems a pretty serious issue to miss today, so why was the change reverted? When is this being fixed? Tomorrow? Next day? Soon(tm)?

I didn't see the valid point or even the worth of this post. And no, I don't use a Mac, but bashing Mac users here when we're all getting the shaft from CCP is pointless. The GPU-burning shaft, in my case. This patch hasn't addressed that aspect, so the game is no more playable today than yesterday. Learning... |

ok here's my question. i know you guys are busy fixing issues. but how come you guys haven't fixed the mining laser sound to either match the new animation or just put it back to the old way. caue it's a 10 second fix you can add real quick to fix it. i'm not complaining just wish the sound matched the animation.

Nice to see this is finally acknowledged. Shame the fix didn't work. I hope to god it is being treated as a hands down priority since your game has been unplayable without a deathwish since Incarna.
Mice workaround though. I'll be sure to mention that next time I get in a dogfight. I'm sure they will understand.

I heard priority number one is currently to fix CCP's money running out due to funding three games'dev with one game ... I hope EvE doesn't go bankrupt :(

Does this patch fixes the aurum problem ?
Aslo, as said above, turrets icons are too dark/lack contrast ; they are hard to see inspace (target area) or to identifie in hanger and cargo. ---

Still the best game ever, well done, Incarna takes it to another level.
Would it be possible to let the Operating System software companys know I would like an line gamers version of their products please.
I am using what is considered the best OS for game players, and it's very substandard.
Then Incarna could be perfected even more.

Ship speed not reflecting actual ship speeds. I've noticed it randomly lock on certain random speeds and stay there, even in warp. It resets itself to zero after a gate jump, but then randomly freezes again once accelerating in the new system. But as far as I can tell, the ship is still moving at the speed it should be (i.e. 100% for 100%, warping at 75%, speed mod effects still applying) regardless of what the speedometer is reading.

I would love to be able to avoid the CQ, and dock right to the dock. Give me the chance to not visit the dark and choppy CQ you've built for us. It slow down my iMac so badly, that I'm avoiding docking at all!. I've seen FPS with more detailed graphics where you can walk, run, sprint and duck, while watching a streaming video and using Skype at the same time. For some gurista reason, the CQ is so demanding on my hardware, that I beg you to spare me the CQ if I choose so. Yours truly,

The new patch works as fine as Incarna 1.0. Same framerate (60fps in space, 30 in CQ), same loading time dock/undock (same time of pre-Incarna), same buggy sound (miners) and warp effect. But that's all. No other skills/ships/CQ/black dot/HDR bugs found. All settings "high" with HDR and all activated. Exactly the same of Incarna 1.0.

I don't usually complain or post much in these threads but I feel I must say something here. I am running Eve on a pc consisting of an asus crosshair III mobo with an AMD 955 quad core, 8 gigs of ddr3 and 2 ATI hd4870's in crossfire on a 6 meg internet connection. There is no reason I should be having the kind of trouble Im having with your latest patch. The cq in station causes my cards to jump to 99% on the activity monitor in catalyst control center and they very quickly reach overheated status and shut down eventually. I have spoken to many other players running ATI and AMD gear who say they are having the exact same issues. win7 pro 64
I don't understand how you can call this a success,a marvel or a "pinnacle of professionalism" when half your player base can't even run it safely any more!
If you can't do better than this I will have no choice but to cancel all 6 subs I currently have just for the simple reason of equipment preservation.
Please address this asap or you will find yourself in the pages of history as a great game that died due to reaching too far too fast. Your developing the game faster than the players can keep up. My hardware runs better in codmw2 and Crysis 2 than it does in Eve now, that is unacceptable.
Thank you for your time |

Maybe you need to upgrade your old hardware, sadly, computer components are updated so fast they become outdated just as fast, something that was the best thing out there 3-5 years ago is now as good as a 486-DX4 lol

Sooo the whole "skills not applying" thing, is that still just the drones and probes issue? I'd kind of like to know what skills are broken before finding out the hard way. I haven't really noticed much of a difference since the expansion (but then I haven't played a whole lot since the expansion). Seen a couple of people asking for the details, and no response yet. Can I ask nicely (hides pitchfork behind back), if we could get a CCP confirmation as to exactly what is broken? Pretty please with a pony on top? ^_-

Dear sirs,
EVE is a great game, and a lot of fun to play. I appreciate all the effort that CCP puts into its maintenance and continued evolution, and I appreciate the difficulties of developing and deploying a large and complicated piece of software.
That said, EVE is something I do in my downtime, not something that competes with my vocation or my avocations. It's frustrating and time consuming to constantly patch, re-patch, and re-download the client, to comb the forums for technical support and to devise ways to work around broken features. Since the Incarna release, I've spent more time doing all of the above than actually playing. If continuing with EVE means continuing to wrestle with regularly occurring technical difficulties, then I'm honestly not sure that I want to spend my time or money on it. EVE is fun, but not enough to become a chore.
As a player and a paying customer, I sincerely hope the next major update will mean a stable, usable client. Thanks for your consideration.
Regards,
--s

According to my mechanic there is a gear that can be replaced near the transmission and the speedometer that will fix false speedometer readings. If you are using larger tires than factory recommended tires you will have to replace the gear with a specific one that reflects actual tire size. Radar detectors may enable you to travel at faster speeds in concord monitored space without getting a ticket for speeding. Although in lowsec and 0.0 who cares. Just go as fast as you can go....

New Issue w/ this patch
Just had an abaddon fleet and multiple people in fleet saw their ship as a cloaked harbinger model.
Unresolved issues: 1. Sporadic warp effects 2. Speedometer still broken, I would like to know how fast I am going. 3. Sometimes my hot keys work, sometimes they don't.
Keep on patching CCP, carbon ui sucks so far. |

Originally by: Crosbow Moses According to my mechanic there is a gear that can be replaced near the transmission and the speedometer that will fix false speedometer readings.
Originally by: Dirk Magnum Ship speed not reflecting actual ship speeds.
This sounds like a post I would make, only I'd make it funny.

I'm wondering how many of the people with technical problems (but newer computers) use an ATI graphics card. I had one myself until last year and I had the feeling that CCP only develops and tests on nvidia cards. There were regular issues with EVE that only affected ATI users.
Like many other developers, btw. If anything in ANY game has problems with specific cards, it's ALWAYS with ATI cards. I'm pretty sure it's not ATI's fault but poor QA on the developers' side, but unfair as it may be, it made me switch to the industry leader nvidia. Ever since I've had zero compatibility problems with anything.

The incarna camera offset sucks for duel monitor setups, i use two monitors, and first off, offseting is opposite of the normal offset, when when i offset to the right, it moves the camera, and my point of persepctive (my ship) to the right, the perspective on my point of persepctive doesn't change, i don't see more of the side of my ship or anything, yet when i use the incarna camera, instead of offsetting both my camera, and my point of perspective, it merely offsets the camera, which cause my point of perspective to shift opposite the camera, so when i move the camera right, the avatar shifts to the left, and vice versa.
here are two photos i hope make my point. http://imageshack.us/g/189/20110629160939.jpg/ and when i do offset the incarna camera, the direction the avatar moves is not reflected by the camera, where instead of the camera facing the direction i am moving, it faces a little left ot right depending on how it is offset. can you please re adjust the incarna offset to properly reflect how the normal offset function works, because CQ is a pain in the ass when i got dual monitors set up.

Applied the latest patch and had Eve client optimise graphics settings for performance. I must say that CQ runs quite smooth now. Run on a laptop with an Intel Core2Duo 2,16 GHz, 4 GB RAM and a nVidia 7950GTX graphicscard. FRAPS shows a framerate between 20 and 30 fps. Not spectacular, but not bad either. Cincerning the old hardware (4 years), shouldn't complain though.
On a sidenote, I'm getting a new rig. I was considering AMD graphics cards. But I am doutbing that decision as nvidia seems to be the preferred hardware to run Eve on...

Not sure if this belongs here if not they can move it.
We installed the latest patch on the 28th of june and have had ships missing from the pos with no explaintion. So far several t3's and expensive faction ships. We operate out of a pos in WH space all settings before the patch prevented rookies from accessing the SMA, after the patch settings were screwed and anyone could access the sma's. Api keys have been collected from player accounts that were logged in at the time in the corp, so far they show nothing. We suspect a bug in the security settings of pos management that allowed any player to access SMA's.

In a word, no.
I have an ATI Radeon HD4890 plugged into an ASUS M4A89GTD Pro USB3 Mobo, AMD Phenom II x4 965 CPU, and 4Gb of DDR3 RAM. I use Catalyst Control Center version 10.11 because every version of it from this one on has screwed things up in one way or another. I also rolled back my most recent PCIe bus drivers because they literally screwed my network card. I have no problems.
I have noticed an increase in system resources usage, which is easily explained by the more resource intensive CQ. Space ships online works as normal.

Not a single word from CCP about the numerous questions asked about what skills/scenario the ships are failing... BUT YEAH!!! the start-up animation is fixed!!!
What has happened to CCP, priorities are completely gone. (at least those that matter to the player base.)
So sad, seems every fix seems to be about how good the game LOOKS to new players and not to address the issues the established players are concerned about.

This happened to us as well (small POS in WH). If you rep the shields (Osprey for us) it will seem to reset back to the max you repped them at after DT. We let them build by themselves up to 85%, repped to 86% and let them build up to 90% before DT. The second day they were at back at 86% after DT and we repped to 100%. This morning they stayed at 100% after DT.
I've heard you can file a Petition and a GM will come out and rep your sheilds. Don't know if this is true, but can only assume so. Definitely need to fix this mechanic as seeing your sheilds at 50% and all guns full of ammo will scare the hell outta you.
[Edit] As a side note, I saw a thread from 07 about this issue, so it's definitely not a new one...

For the Mac users: Your machines run Windows 7. You will run into less problems with programs an no one will try to lie to you anymore about security on the internet. They would even dual boot with OS X. And hey, EVE uses less resources if you run it under Windows.. More shiny, more pretty..

I was looking in the added notes at the bottom of the 1.0.1 list. Nothing in there about the high resource usage that causes the extreme heat issues. I run an Nvidia 9800 and was fine before Incarna. If I attempt to run anything Carbon now, I risk a BSoD after a little while, at best. CCP, many of your players will literally be forced from EVE by this issue. I can't see buying a new computer solely for the purpose of playing EVE. Learning... |

Well, one of the skills is long range targeting. Have 45km max range on a noctis... should be about 90km (or at least it was before incarna)... and re-logging doesn't fix it.

I've tried swapping ships at a SMA to clear it, but the new ship loads up with all of the modules missing. Well, the modules are still there in the fitting screen. But all of the activation buttons F1-8 etc. are gone. Not offline, not unresponsive, but completely missing from the UI. And the frozen speedometer is still there. Maybe next time I will screenshot my mining barge with the speedometer pegged to 3253 m/s. Let the EFT warriors figure that one out

troll As for all of you with skill issues... working as intended. MT will replace skillz. /troll
There isn't a problem with ATI cards persay. The problem exists in the southbridge, as this poster stated by rolling back his PCIe drivers. A bit of History:
1. NVIDIA and ATI both develop excellent cards. 2. NVIDIA and ATI realize that devices are becoming more integrated, i.e. NForce Chipsets. 3. NVIDIA Partners with AMD and Intel MB Manufacturers and offers the tools necessary to start integrating the NForce Chipsets into AMD snd Intel style motherboards starting with NForce 1(We are now at NForce 7), but doesnt offer the tools directly to Intel or AMD. It instead licenses them. 4. ATI diverges in that they don't have a southbridge chipset specifically tailored to run their cards, i.e there is no NForce chipset for ATI. Instead they focus on continuing to develop better cards, which they do for years. 5. AMD realizes they have faster and faster chips, but no solid integration system for graphics or sound, and in an effort to compete with Intel THEY BOUGHT OUT ATI. They tried to buy NVIDIA but NVIDIA refused.
IMHO, ATI still has no reliable southbridge driver, and it isn't like they can ask for specs from Intel since they are owned by Intel's competitor. Whilst they do have a southbridge driver it is included in the Catalyst software. As such it is Generic, in that it must be written to support every card and every motherboard, where as NVIDIA can tell you you have an NForce 6 style board so there is no need to tell someone to download a new southbridge driver that is greater than 6, while being able to update the graphics driver without affecting the southbridge.
In short, if you use NVIDIA GPU's buy a motherbord with an NForce Chipset. If you use ATI, follow the OP's advice and downgrade your Catalyst Control Software until you find a stable version of a southbridge driver that supports yor system, because the southbridge driver is more important than the Graphics driver.
Sorry if this post seems slanted torwards NVIDIA users, but I am one. I've tried both brands and after trying to replace a 4x AGP NVIDIA card in an older PC with an 8x/4x ATI Radeon 3650, and finding out it would only operate at 4x in safe mode, I'll never go back to ATI, since I bought an 8x/4x NVIDIA card and it actually operated at 4x. This just proves ATI cannot follow rules that AGP is always backwards compatible.

The new icons are causing problems from a day to day usage. Not everybody has young eyes. There is no contrast and therefore are hard to see/distinguish against a dark background. Also, there is going to be a problem with red colour blindness with Salvager 2's and so on.
Also, the decor in the Captains quarters are singularly unimpressive. It is dark, dreary, uncomfortable and singularly univiting. Obviously nobody in the world of Eve has heard of ergonomic chairs and interior decorators have obviously been outlawed.
Also, if I am going to be sitting down in front of a screen for long time, I want a Lazy-boy recliner chair, not some back breaking bench seat.
Light dimmers to for the lack of light ... I can go on with my criticisms if necessary.

Fix drones. Seriously - fix them.
The one reason the forum isn't drowning in complaints is that drones are sub-par weapons, even if you don't break them in every second patch, fix them (maybe) with the next one and then break them again after that.
Problems:
- Drones not following "Attack" commands. Some / most go off doing their own thing 50% of the time. - Area of Effect damage in missions affecting drones. They already do less DPS than turrets/missiles. They already need travel time to apply it. They already get killed all over the place, especially with client disconnects.
I just used drones in a "Damsel in Distress" to kill the Pleasure hub. I did it on purpose to test how much damage they take. 5 Ogre IIs lost, with drone hitpoint bonus from ship and relevant skills all trained to 4 at least. Rofl. Just Rofl. Tested it in a handful of other missions with AoEs, too, and this change just makes it a ****ing pain in the ass to run them with drones. Why? Does any other ****ing weapon system take damage when used in missions? Oh, they don't? Ok..
And still no one from CCP commenting on the reasons for any of this. Typical "swallow or die" **** we've been seeing all over the place, lately.

Isn't it sad how a goal CCP had recently has turned into a meme commenting on their immense incompetence? It seems even core game mechanics like skill bonuses aren't safe anymore.

I am pretty sure it was mentioned already...
The new turret icons are a joke. Way to unrecognizable silhouette. When you go forward with making similar "looking like a turd" icons i will have no clue anymore whether its a gun, point, ...any other "looking like a turd" module that i have active on one of my locked targets. Why did you touch it in the first place... nobody needed that..."turdiness"
My online buddies suspect that your art department folks have way to large screens sitting way to close in front of them. So they might actually be able to distinguish between the different turds...erm...turrets.
But basically we are speechless how this could make it into the production cluster.

Just noticed this in the patch notes:
òBPOs and BPCs can now be uniquely identified in cargo scanner results when scanning a ship carrying a courier package, yarrr!
Shouldn't that be left as a "maybe it is, maybe it isn't"?
Shouldn't HighSec gangking be as risky as possible?
I would think that is a risk that the ganker has to take into account not "yep there's a BPO, hey Joe get over here in your gank mobile this is a sure thing".

The bug is when you click on a menu bar in a window and you drag the window around, theres a chance that it will clip somewhere else on the screen. Sometimes it clips just outside my window and I'm stuck with a window that I can't close. This means I have to relog.
I read the patch notes and no fix from what I understand. My buddies seems to experience the same problem so I'm not alone in this --------------------------------------------------

New Eden is a dangerous place. If someone has a BPO and is not protecting himself enough...that's his problem. Theres tons of way to protect and prevent death from such situation so imo its OK with me. --------------------------------------------------

I agree it's dangerous out there, and yes ganking is valid, and yes you should protect yourself, I'm just saying it should be extremely risky and dangerous to be a "criminal" game mechanics should not favor the "criminal".

Posting to remind you all that the minimum breast size has indeed changed, and that it is not a good change.
I request, and will continue to request until my sub runs off, that the minimum is reverted back to its pre-Incarna level. Nerfing customization like this makes me a very, VERY sad panda - sad enough to discontinue putting money in CCP's hands. |

General feedback? Let's see...
Skills still not being applied to ships? Check.
Drones still going idle randomly? Check.
Augments still not being applied to training times? Check.
Strip miner beam still looks pathetic? Check.
Module icons still look like dog poop? Check.
Lag worse than ever before? Check.
Petitions sitting for weeks with no reply? Check.
Functionality still missing from hanger view? Check.
Still going to allow my sub to run out on 7/23? Check.
Seems fine to me; wouldn't change a thing.

I just felt like writing something about the events leading to the current situation, ie. about expansions so far, and their effect on my personal gameplay.
Incarna(June 21, 2011): The station interior looks beautiful if I just sit and look at it, however its function is a large resource hog and because of that I have to switch station interior off if Im actually 'playing eve'. Don't even get started on NEX store since its obviously not meant for me. Effect on my gameplay: small negative to medium negative (at least until it runs better).
Incursion(November 30, 2010): To this day I havent participated in a single incursion, even though there was some talk about doing them as a corp. Problem is that they are meant to be group efforts, so Incursions effect on my personal gameplay: nonexistent.
Tyrannis (May 26, 2010): I like more beautiful planets and their function now ties nicely to upcoming releases. It was all good, however, there was little actual 'content'. It took me half hour to couple hours to experiment and read the info on planet goods. This means that despite this being a 'good thing', it turned very quickly from 'new and shiny' to 'same old'. Effect on my gameplay: small but positive.
Dominion (December 1, 2009): Revamp of sov mechanics; Well, urgh, I guess I have to take this as a positive since it meant less poses to take care of. However what the old system was replaced with wasn't exactly a huge improvement. Now the sov objects are big and large but theres fewer of them. Waging sov war is still about huge blobs shooting large non-interactive things. Im not exactly whooping for joy about how it turned out. Having forced to run logistics for huge blob of poses was indeed ridiculouly bad, at least we got rid of that. Effect on my gameplay: small but positive.
Apocrypha (March 10, 2009.): T3 stuff, wormholes, etc. This was the last expansion that was actually good on all accounts. Wormholes give depth to eve universe and T3 ships are mostly really nice. This is expansion that I have to give a good thumbs-up.
Now lets stop here. As you can see, the effect of Eve expansions to my gameplay has been on a steady decline since 2009. Mayhap CCP needs to rethink what exactly it is offering (wrong word, its actually 'force') to its players, and whether they need to rethink their approach. They are increasingly moving away from offering 'good stuff' to individual players. This in my eyes is bad. Incarna touches individuals, but its not really working as well as it should.
If, somewhere along the way CCP makes decisions with a direct negative effect on my gameplay (like they did with the anomaly nerf) then people like me are going to remember only that and complain that much more. The controversy surrounding NEX store was just the straw that broke the camel's back imo. You need to do some quality-of-ingame-life improvements to individual players game asap.

I'm currently armless and my head is a deep Aubergine color, I was invisible for 5 minutes earlier today too. This is absolute fact I'm not trolling. I just checked back and my arms have reappeared while writing. My head is still eggplant. Nvidea GTX 280

Edited by: Delphina Amaranthus on 18/07/2011 12:20:12 I prefered the old strip miner effect. This one...too close to the ice mining one, and it doesn't look like I'm doing anything...can't really see the ore coming back. Plus, no fiery impressive Hulk feeding frenzy mining party screenshots.
And I agree with Galmas on the "turds"

The in game windows seem to not close or minimize very easily anymore. Has the location box been made smaller or just not reacting to the cursor correctly anymore? This really is a pain when trying to close a window quickly...

Sure this been posted befor but just repeating it to be ssure ccp knows about it
The new turrets, while the new turrets and the effects are great , the icons themselves are too dark especially the small ones next to your locked target
And while i understand that we all need to relearn how the new turrets look like itwould be easier if the icons are lighter or have a different colour ________________________________________ Minmatar are like jedi knights, we use ductape as our force, it has a darkside and a sticky side

Client update #4. As with client updates 1, 2 and 3, I checked the box that says not to ask me again. When client update #5 is released I guarantee it'll ask me again. Why does said checkbox never, ever work?
More to the point, why doesn't the client automatically update without any user input when it starts and sees a patch? It works perfectly fine that way with all my steam games.

Feedback:
Make the scrollbar of all windows SOLID please... the bottom half it invisible for most people... still.
And a word on a response I received from CCP Navigator himself to a petition of mine on logical dialog in these forums set up for communication and gathering of information:
>>> WHY NO COMMUNICATION? <<<
I placed a petition earlier this month about the need to keep to CCP's own words about being more "in communication" with its player base, ESPECIALLY WITHIN CHANNELS CCP DEVs CREATED for important communication: i.e., ALL "Issues" and, like this channel, set up for "Feedback" postings/threads ...for each #'d version and/or upgrade. CCP Navigator responded in agreement (with assurance) to pass this along to those whom post and monitor these threads...
Because, CCP, it boils down to this: You have the potential of a veritable fountain of valuable information from many people when you post asking for issues, but (as mentioned in my petition about this "incommunicado" issue to CCP Navigator back on July 5), the longer you let a thread go without even a simple, "Thank you, we appreciate your continual reporting. We may not have a solution, but all new information is relevant... we are paying attention to this thread still [as there are no others higher than Incarna 1.0.1] and we APPRECIATE all continuing info..." HOWEVER, the "apparent lack of response" will inevitably create a result of disinterest, frustration, and an overall sense of being ignored - quite possibly even an apathetic "why bother posting... CCP doesn't care" thought process. (It has crossed my mind many times when I write to Issues forums, Petitions and Bug Reports...)
And according to CCP Navigator, he agrees (assumably because he is the Lead Community Representative for CCP), as this is a serious and poignant point.
So please, CCP, get with up to speed with him - and hold steadfast to your own June 30/July 1 deliberations about more communication and at least let us know you're reading our attempts (many attempts) to keep YOU (CCP) abreast of ISSUES here.

In Captain's Quarters couldn't the ship interaction hologram take into account the bays available on the current ship? I have some ships with no drone bay, yet I still have a drone bay selectable. I have ships with fuel bays and corporate hangers, yet have to right click on the ship in the hanger to open these. It seems to make sense to have it all work from the one place.
