Sorry about this. Greyscale has a devblog ready, but we were afraid that it would drown in all the drama going on the past weeks. Hopefully we'll be at a calmer place soon so we can get back to talking about spaceships. I looked at the CSM minutes today, and they have some good info too.
Sorry for not being able to deliver it to you sooner, but hopefully we can pass this info on soon. |

Nope, not at all. The 0.0 stuff is pretty important, and I'd prefer the discussion to be centered around that, so we'll hold back on it until we feel we can get more focus on it. But it's still coming, and we're still working on it :) |

The "drama" comes partly from the whole incarna/MT thing and partly because of the fact that important game features have been left to rot for quite while and we're fed up with it, 0.0/SOV being one of them. I'm sure you understand that part, so I don't see why you would wait on purpose. |

sorry ccp soundwave but I think your wrong to hold it back any more sure you'll still get some going over the mt stuff but you'll give us something to talk about ,i'm hoping, in a positive light or more pitch folks at dawn, -but it will be better the the mt rehash every day.
lets face it right now you got nothing to loss, unless your planning to screw over the players that live in low end null sec I.e. take more isk making away from the 0.0 to -0.5 systems
so come on put it on the table for us to see

Riiiight.... So, talking about barbie-dressing everyone is so upset about is the right way to calm everyone down?
What you really need, is not showing your new moneygrabbing ideas telling how "cool" and "innovative" they are, but that you care about game future by fixing stuff you keep in your rubbish bin... I mean backlog. |

I truly hope this is going to go far beyond a few "tweaks" as the whole concept of empire building as it is currently implemented in 0.0 needs to be thrown out and re-done from scratch. Seriously. In its current form it's nothing but capture the flag with a bunch of convoluted timers thrown in just to ensure absolutely nothing of consequence can happen without massive blobbing.
Way too predictable. And when it comes to game design, predictable = boring.
EVE needs a whole new concept when it comes to 0.0 because empire building ought to be about a lot more than capturing a flag. Mittani is right about one thing when he states there really is only one viable way to run a serious 0.0 alliance at present: a dictatorship with an aggressive NBSI policy. But that's not how it should be. EVE is supposed to be a sandbox and 0.0 ought to be a wild, dangerous, but very diverse place. But it isn't. In fact, in some ways it's the least dynamic segment of all New Eden.
CCP needs to get 0.0 "right" and in its current form it's very, very wrong. Please CCP, take your time with this. Solicit more feedback from the players and re-think 0.0 because a few tweaks here and there are not going to cure what ails null-sec. The problems are much deeper than that and EVE could be so much more than it is. |

Have to agree. Most if not all of the ppl this topic would effect had nothing to due with the protests. O.O pilots would rather shot each other then a statue.

Edited by: Kalle Demos on 08/07/2011 21:22:31 3 major issues about 0.0 which SHOULD be addressed if they arent, this will truly be a dominion mk II
1. Sov warfare focuses on a ****ty dildo, a dildo which attracts blobs, blobs who just have to sit there all day to win, which results in boredom, blobbing and snoozefests.
2. Dreads NEED a buff and a purpose that will make them useful in 0.0 BUT not OP in WHs, supercarriers are only heavily used because sov warfare allows you to sit in one spot shooting a structure.
3. Station purposes, atm these stations are there to make it harder for the enemy to claim them, take NC / IT as an example, despite being dead it took months to remove them off the map BECAUSE these timers were ******ed as hell, it shouldnt take 4 months to kill an alliance that is already dead.
Stuff that people WILL want changing but should remain the same.
1. Moon Goo - Firstly if sov warfare was quick, 'fun' and wasnt always focused on a single structure, people would happily fight over land.
Secondly 0.0 SHOULDN'T be equal, life isnt fair and quite honestly it gives a purpose to invade / hate if things arent equal.
Thirdly if sov warfare wasnt heavily focused on numbers / supercaps, more people would be involved and more people would fight over these moons.
2. Supercarriers - Personally supercarriers are ONLY effective because the sov mechanics are so **** and dont require movement, do you really think people would use supercarriers like they do if sov warfare required you to move from one system to another several times an hour?
All in all, just think of why things are as they are, also I would ignore anything that comes out of the NC CSM mouths, they have made it obvious from the start that they will approve of anything that allows them to blob, RMT and remain where they are. |
