This is only partially true. While gallente towers have a 100% silo bonus, they are less cost effective. This means that you make less money per month off of a gallente reaction tower. As a consequence gallente towers are probably favored by the larger alliances, whereas the little guy like me uses a different tower which allows me to be more efficient (although I have to log on more often to empty silos. |

cheaper ice products are good for lower t2 prices. the knock on effect of higher pos running costs are t2 items become more expensive. this was first proved when pi replaced npc pos fuel.
bumping the the price of just 1 of the 2 major reaction tower topes wont have the effect of making t2 prices higher, but bumping both will. if you bumped all types of topes that woudl have a major impact on not only t2 production but the movement of capitals across eve.
you could argue this point both ways depending on 'your eve view', although i tend to like low cost t2 items and cheap movement CCP-áare full of words and no action. We watch what they do and its nothing but false statements and lies.

Well, unless you interpret his statement "Basically all ice miners are bots. Report them after you kill them! This way, not only do you kill them, you get them temp-banned!" as a call to abuse the report bot mechanism.
Of course he could just be referring to the fact that ice mining is so totally dominated by bots at this moment that 99% of the people they suicide gank are bots. |

Malcanis twisting the truth like a true forum troll.
My stance is and always has been, that the CSM's should represent the player base as a whole and EVERYONE should be able to play the game as they want to. That includes both you and I. CSM's are meant to help CCP better their game and they are meant to be representatives (& go-betweens) for us in order to communicated to CCP's higher tier leadership.
That's my stance. That is the CSM's purpose.
CSM's should be players who support the bettering of the sandbox environment by rejecting game breaking activities that violate the EULA like marcro-botting, that create large amounts of lag OR would lead to things like a large scale market collapse. CCP prides themselves on EVE's economics, it is a substantial draw to people playing this game. Any activity specifically designed to cascade that on a grand scale, is not an activity that the CSM's should be activity participating in. Period. |

As a miner I think that this is great.
When you get stuck in the day to day normal grind with people chaning the market by a few ISK you forget how easily it can be tanked or raised by player actions. Ice, like everything else shouldn't be immune to this. I comend them for playing the game as they want, this is a sandbox afterall.
This is probabaly a pretty good test run to show how hard the economy is hit with the removal of (just one type!) ice. With talk from CPP of removing ice or by making it depletable they can go into that decision with a clear example of the consquences which follow.
In the meantime I'm going to do what I've done for every hulkagetton and hop into the covetor. They can gank me all they want as the net losses will usually be in their direction, although I'll probabaly warp out, so they can take care of the bots ^.^ Less AI competition + getting paid like triple for the work that I make = how could I be upset?

I think higher priced T2 and slower capital movement would both be highly positive things for the game. Malcanis' Law: Any proposal justified on the basis that "it will benefit new players" is invariably to the greater advantage of older, richer players.

i dont. t2 prices being low atm can be put down in some part to the massive drop in numbers of players. if indeed that has happend, as there are no published account numbers anymore. t2 prices tend not to effect the older players much, its the younger ones that would suffer most and i feel that eve could use more younger players. what are the possitive things that higher t2 items and higher cost travel would lead too? I don't see how reporting violations of the EULA is violating the EULA. The Mittens is a smart guy. He wouldn't be where he is if he was stupid. So he must know that you can't possibly create a monopoly out of something as accessible as ice. Sure, losing a brutix to kill a Mack can look all profitable and dettering on paper, but when miners will get their insured, tanked covetors instead, it will suddenly be a lot less profitable. Let them suicide their dominixes on those, it will cost them more to replace. And you won't need a huge increase of Oxytope prices to make covetor ice mining more profitable than last week's mackinaw mining.
No, Mittens must know he can't "break the market" and that it will result only in maybe a 3-5% increase in T2 ship prod cost. What he probably has done must be invest a ton of money last week to buy huge stocks of Oxytopes, and resell them now, making profits in the dozen of billions. And trolling the rest of Eve, which must flatter his ego.
Well played, Mittens, well played. |

Oh i hope the t2 prices will go up. Way up.
Really no clue if it'll happen, but from what i read here ... i'm looking forward to it ! :D
It's way too easy to make money and there's way too much around anyway.
Higher prices -> more work to afford stuff -> more risk -> more adrenalin.
Whoever believes that's bad ... and it's a game and should be fun ->
There's nothing more rewarding than hard work and nothing gives a better rush than the fear of losing what was made by said hard work.

Unsupported accusations mean nothing. Back up your assertions with fcts, analysis and a hypothesis. You're just slinging random insults at this stage. Calling people a "troll" because they're saying something you don't happen to like.

A slower gratification process, which ends in a higher reward.
Challenge !
New players are okay, unless they're used to have fun served on a silver plate and "press x now" style of gameplay. These people simply do not fit to EvE and a slower gratification process would keep them out.
That's why high prices (in relation to income) are a good thing. |

Careful now, once you start trying to insinuate that players should do things for themselves instead of slinging random insults at the CSM or crying to CCP, then EP will know that you're a goon alt for sure.
