soon is sometime in the next 18 months, unless it gets pushed back ... i doubt containers will be obsoleted just because of a pos revamp either.

While I love players making their own stuff.
This only adds to the fact that there are too few Isk sinks in Eve. Currently this is at least one, even if only nominally so.
Can we see more isk sinks introduced? Currently a new player we try to get into Eve often has to run more than twice as many missions to buy the same basic ships and upgrades as a player who started 3-4 years ago thanks to inflation.
This is a sandbox, and those players should have the same opportunities! |

I can't say I approve of this change.
While the small cans etc make moving things around in ships etc easier, what with their tardis effect, the station warehouses and the likes only serve one purpose; to fill the hole which is the crappy single-division inventory system.
Users should not have to rely on someone shuttling around in freighters to make the inventory system slightly more tolerable.
IMO station containers need to be available in any and all stations, until such a time that CCP makes an inventory system with native divisioning. |

To be honest I am not in favor of the changes for station containers. I dont thing that I should have to do huge logistical nightmares and spends lots of isk to make my hanger floor clean and orderly. Station Containers were essentially folders for me and not having the easy option of organization.....
Can I have a folder system that doesn't suck.

Kidding aside, I will finally be able to get station containers in nul \o/
Some comments/questions:
1: Would allowing containers to be assembled in POS CHAs increase their capacity? Would this be good or bad? 2: Can packaged containers be placed inside assembled containers? It's been asked before, but I haven't seen an answer (from CCP). 3: I still don't understand the reasons for this... but how in the world do assembled containers have more capacity than volume? Space magic? Gremlins? |

All volumes in the game take into account the incompetence of Bob The Hangar Manager, frankly he only got his job because his uncle is a Caldari Shipping magnate, he leaves large gaps everywhere and his organization is terrible leading to large amounts of wasted space. But on the other hand, Joe The Container Guy is a sterling employee, through hard work and dedication he worked his way up the ranks from a janitorial position and he's great at his job, packing things neatly and compactly. This contrast leads to some inconsistencies in capsuleer reports on volumetrics. |

Any chance we can get new General Freight Container sizes?
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1961318
Quote:- XXS: 50 m3 - Extra-Small: 1,000 m3 - Small: 4,000 m3 - Medium: 10,000 m3 - Large: 40,000 m3 - Extra-Large: 120,000 m3 (the existing version) - XXL: 250,000 m3
We need something in the mid-size ranges. Especially 10k-80k range, which are not sell served by the existing container sizes. It would also be nice to have something smaller then 100 m3 (such as a 20-40 m3 version).

If station containers are allowed in CHA's, then logically station warehouses should be allowed in LSAA's and XLSAA's, sextupling their capacity for negligible cost.

Containers use Planck bubbles to compress stuffs. How do the bubbles work? Just fine.
More on-topic, might it be possible to either skip containers with items in them when repackaging everything in a hangar, or at least get a confirmation message? It can be annoying to sort through everything dumped out, especially when it's thousands of items in one hangar. |

For what it's worth, I share your opinion 100%, especially the last line.
I'm open to the idea of "less NPC-esque market stuff", but containers are too important in the grand scheme of things to allow for a series of corporations to jack their prices up on the market. And I'm sure that's exactly what will happen as well -- such is already happening with some other commodities; hence my worry.

I think it will end up like shuttles - but only if they spread the BPOs out to additional corporations and not just the initial ones. The BPOs should be made more widely available. They containers also need to be easier to transport, so you're more likely to see them at out of the way locations.
I'm also concerned about the unpacked sizes of the SV/SW compared to what they hold:
- Station Warehouse should be 100M m3 when unpacked, same as the amount that it holds. - Station Vault should be 10M m3 when unpacked, same as the amount it holds.
The developers should be shooting for a density value on the containers of somewhere between 250 ISK/m3 and 1000 ISK/m3. This gives packaged sizes of:
Station Container - needs to pack down to 250 m3, not 10k m3. Which would let you carry 3600 of them in a 900k m3 freighter. Which is still not fabulous at only 65M ISK for the load, but at least not a complete PITA to haul for at least some revenue. A 250 m3 container would only have a density value of 75 ISK/m3 which is pretty low.
Station Vaults - should be 2000 m3 in size when packed. That gives you ~450 in a freighter or 80M or so (density value of 88 ISK/m3).
SWs - should be 8k m3 in size when packed. Giving a density value of about 212 ISK/m3.
It also means that smaller ships can move these around as needed. If it means that they allow mineral compression, then the recipes should be tweaked to require additional high end materials (or even PI goods as extras). |

Could you please spread these blueprints around more widely? Because, I'm having trouble with the idea that NOBODY IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE except Amarr Constructions knows how to make a box with a lock on it. Or that the Amarrians, with their advanced box-with-a-lock technology, can't make a box without one.
From what I understand the Amarr are experts on making locked cages... ehm boxes not even exotic dancers are able to escape but still are able to have an ample air supply. So I am assuming their boxes would be the best. |

Will NPC sell orders for cans and probes be cut off immediately on release, or will they be reduced to a reasonable size and allowed to run out in order to prevent a critical shortage and corresponding price jump while player production catches up to demand?
From what I remember, back when Shuttles changed to player production, the NPC sell orders just disappeard overnight.

If I may have a question, selling these containers made isk go out of the economy, which i consider good in this overwealthy set of players. By making these changes these items won't be money drains anymore. So the question is, what did your economists say, how will this effect new eden, in an economical point of view? |

It was looked into and the benefit of having this stuff manufactured by the player base versus NPC was deemed a worth the slight diminish in ISK sink. Containers when viewed in the whole of ISK sinks is so small. Now we just add it to the sink that is blueprints. Content Designer | Team Five 0 @regnerBA |
