If I have to read one more thread about BUMPING, I am going to lose what little I have left of my sanity.

So, I just spoke to the GM Team regarding this to get some clarification:

Firstly, people who are bumped always have the right to petition. It is the right of any player who feels that they want to petition an issue to do so.

However, with regards to the rules in EVE Online our current view is:

• Bumping is not considered harassment.
• Bumping is not considered griefing.
• Bumping is not against the rules.

It's actually been used for a long time to prevent warping as a rudimentary form of tackling when you don't have a point, or don't have sufficient disruption strength to keep someone pinned.

Along with that, the people that are doing this for the best part are in player corporations. If you don't like what they're doing, declare war on them so that you can punish them, or pay a merc corp to do so on your behalf if you don't want to fight.

There are plenty of options to counter this, if you use your imagination.

Just to be clear, if they continue to stock you across several systems, and continue to bump you until you buy a permit, that is/not harassment?

This is a green light not just to New Order miner-extortion bumping, but to all potential miner extortion bumping. It seems to have proven lucrative for you guys - how long 'til another set of miner bumpers decides to get in on the action, now that it's expressly permissable?

The New Order has even be kind enough to get all the miners who have proven their willingness to concede to extortion to put a handy little tag on their bios, so if a second wave of bumpers does decide to set up shop they'll know exactly who to target first for the most likely pay-offs.

Will the real "resistance" end up coming not from miners, but from rival bumpers?

Pay 20 million or risk bump, for a bio permit stating that James 315 controls nothing but a tiny stabber?
