Here's an idea.....
Make all ANCHORED secure cans in 0.8 and above targetable and destroyable without any Concord or sentry gun intervention.
Cos lets be real about this - they shouldn't be there anyway.....
Then we can all have fun destroying em all!!

SUGGESTED SOLUTION FOR CAN SPAM:
----------------------------------
Add a tab to the "Assets" window for anchored objects other than POS.
All such non-POS anchored objects will require a monthly fee. A modest one, maybe 10isk a can. Don't pay the fee, and the can goes "poof" after a month.

Yup, get rid of the blighters as lag can be bad enough in busy sytems.
Put a timer on cans as somone else suggested, the same goes for roid belts too

While you're at it, CCP, please remove all the abandoned secure containers from all of space. They are an annoyance and have to be a drain on server resources.

Would be cool if Anchoring containers is not forever. If your last access is more than 1 month old cans should unanchor automatically and the password being reset. So people who have a heart for abandoned containers could collect them.

At a minium, a clear zone around gates and stations that get cleaned out every day.

Not only the anchored ones are the problem, also the standard-cans, but might be a problem with the jet-ones.. but it seem to be fun to blow up jet-cans from miners as well :)

would be nice to have these containers not protected by concord/sentry guns
and timeout lost drones much faster (there are some systems where you have multiple pages of the same drone type in the scanner)

They do have separate categories, babylon-boy.
My apologies if I am wrong, but I think Jet cans and Standard cans fall under "Cargo Containers" on the overview setting, not "Secure Containers"

My suggestion:
Under the "Assets" window, add a tab for "Anchored Items". Each month, a modest fee of maybe 10isk would have to be paid. Don't pay the fee, and your can disappears. Within one month of this feature being added, all the abandoned can in the Eve Galaxy would disappear, and only "in use" cans would remain. My hunch is that most cans are abandoned.

Nice suggestion Spot. Most Cans are abandoned, im sure some are still in use. A fee would go a long way to clearing up the lost cans.
