Maybe max the text writen ( with 6 letters you cant make add's and still for in the station its anough to show whats in them, ammo, bpc's and time indication for the jetcans) problem solved :)

there is a simple solution to it. make any can in the same grid as a station or gate to be unanchored. and in the process make it impossible to anchor cans in the same grid as a station or gate.
just make a official news warning one week ahead so those who really want to keep their cans can unanchor them and relocate their cans.

Could not agree more!, nothing worse than getting to a gate and lagging out because it is trying to load the mass of useless cans.
Make a 500km rule as others have suggested for gates and stations.
Surely this can only be a positive for server performance?
Also maybe the belts need a good cleanup?, anyone been to the Muv belts lately for example, 100's of cans per belt and most have likely not been used in months or years!

I went into a system last night that had about 200 cans spelling out, well, certian phrases.
Was fun the first time, not the 3832652th time.

Get rid of them, have them pop after time, or give us the ability to unanchor them with skills, devices, whatever... but good lord ditch the eyesores.

Is anyone else having problems scooping up their own anchored cans? I have only trained Anchoring skill to lvl 1.
Since jetcans pop after 1 hour it is only reasonable that other cans also pop after a certain amount of time.
I wish that anchored cans, unsecure or not, got unachorded after x time and started to drift and is also free to be scooped by all pilots. Then after y time it pops. The time x and y should be regulated by the anchored pilots anchoring skills. For example lvl 1 gets you 1 day, lvl 2 gets you 1 week, lvl 3 gets you 1 month, lvl 4 gets you 1 quarter, and lvl 5 gets you 1 year. A hacking skill should also be useful. It should work like after above x time the security system starts to degrade so each day after that it is getting easier and easier to hack the secure can and your level in hacking helps you in getting it even easier. This since even if you have scooped a secure can you still need to break the lock.
I am not saying that miners should stop using secure cans, all I am saying is that they should not leave them in space after they are done mining. If all pilots would remove their own cans it would benefit us all, including other miners trying to travel to their own cans when hauling.
This is just my 2 isk of thinking.

I do not belive a canfree-zone around stations and gates is the solution. Putting cans where pilots travel for advertizing is part of the game until the billboard is rentable.
Another valid tactic that is used is to build a net of cans that block the path to a station or gate during blockade wars, this is also part of the game.
Some corporations have build a race track with cans and are holding competitions on a weekly basis, this is also part of the game.
But please make them go away after some time based on skill.

Signed. Please make the cans scoopable, destroyable, or give them a limited lifespan. It's ridiculous warping into an asteroid field and finding that cans outnumber asteroids. And the lag around gates.....
However, being a sentimental git myself, perhaps CCP can either make exception for Evegate (for the memorials remembering friends etc.) or come up with some alternatives for rememberance.

I agree with giving them a lifespan. I see a can in Torrinos contains an offer to pay someone to free up a research slot in the station, but the station has had vast numbers of free research slots since I've played the game. I can only assume that this can is a very old advert which was never taken down.

Yeah using cans to advertise is a part of the game, as well as using them for battle tactics, but jesus christ, at least make them dissapear after a month. I think the GMs should visit any of the belts in the system Nonni, it takes almost half a minute to warp in because it has to load all the cans.
1 Month! I cant imagine a scenerio where someone would need to anchor a can for more than a month. And if they do, un-anchor it and re-anchor.

Instead of changing the insta-bookmarks they should clean up space first to see if the lag is gone.

the can cause more lag than anything in this game.
now it seems jettisoned cans are not disapearing as well causing chaos at stations.
