I don't want to see them anymore, with outstanding offers for joining corps, goods, warnings and "was here"
Must be easy to make a patch like "no containers allowed in a radius of 500 km around a gate/station" and the problems went away or please set a ontime of 1h for them like the jet-cans !

Agreed.
Just look under the station in Gehi for example, that damn spiral of cans has been there as long as I can remember serving no purpose whatsoever.
Space definitely needs a clean up.

Yes, indeed, introduce a rapid decay on all cans in 0.5 and higher that makes them dissapear after a week or two! As you first planned. --

There seems to be loads more being dumped all round the gates at the moment - you can't scoop or destroy them, and they've got to be contributing to the lag that seems to plague busy systems at the moment.
Kill em all - or at least allow us to!

Make cans older then a certain period free for shooting... and put (small) bounties on them, from spacelane patrol, waste department.
Or even agent missions Lvl4 mission: Shoot 6 giant sec cans (10 mil hp each ), Reward: 1 "I saved the nature" sticker.

Container Anchoring Lease. -> + one week lease per level 2 weeks from first anchor, then the player/corp has to return within that time to extend the lease, no lease NO CAN!!!!
or make it isk related.....

In the overview, right-click on a spam can then click on remove cargo container from overview. Bingo! Problem solved. Then save an overview with and without spam cans and choose whichever overview best suits your mood at the time.
There may already be something in place to slowly detoriate and remove cans otherwise imagine the accumulated clutter of spam cans deployed over days, weeks and months.

And now I know what the original poster and alts affixed 2, 3 and 4 do - they blow up spam cans don't they? I've seen CanCleaner # floating around in podules presumably after being Concordokken'd. I praise your efforts!

a simple fix to the cans that are close to gates and stations, make them scoopable. I am sick of gettin near a gate and seeing a medium or small standard can just sitting there doing nothing and cant scoop it? you can scoop secure cans that are not anchored, why not standard ones? I know alot of these are not meant to be spamCans, but rather when I ship gets blown up and a standard can in the hold survives and get stuck there forever. Sure there are plenty of the spam ones too, people who leave those deserve to die, or at least gimme your stuff.

New Skill: Ore Thief. Allows player to hack cans.
Not that this has ever been suggested before.

Of course you can take them form your overview, but if you wil mining, hunting, bounty claim, would you ever put them on before you will collect ?
There is no need for spaming cans with comments !!!

I love my spam cans in HLW, but yes, they should be scoopable if not accessed within a month.

Can we AT LEAST have jet cans and standard cans as separate overview categories? That way we can see loot cans in overview, but not the gate spam. Not having to load that crap into overview every time you jump into a system would reduce lag a bit.

I'm all for this so long as they leave the cans in New Eden alone. There are quite a few memorial cans near the EVE Gate for friends who have died, obtained cancer, and likewise. ------------

Agreed.
This is also a problem around abandoned stations and the like. I don't mind that the cans are there, but please give me a method of not having them show up as little white boxes in the primary view. A toggle for "show only my space junk" would be most welcome
