Also does any one know how much damage would be required to destroy a can. and how long would it usually take.
Since i would be willing to make an alt and train it in anti-can setups and just go round cleaning up cans.

In Empire it might take forever, as attacking someone else's can is an act of aggression which will bring Concord down on your alt's head. Plus, the cans have high armour and structure.

Yes - get rid of ad cans - but, as was said:
Originally by: Tekka Yes, and give us a way to place advertisements
I would like to see billboards carry constellation /regional news, which people could contribute to - ads and other announcements could be placed there. There are ways of minimising problems by having the inhabitants of each constellation itself moderate the items without GM involvement. This game lacks a way for players to communicate with large numbers of others (except by spamming locals, which is another pain...)

Now there is a new isk sink for CCP. Advertising on the bulletinboards. Price based on time of day (more for peak times), number of regions/systems displayed. And a skill to go along with it to reduce the cost by x% per level.

I quite like it, it adds to the character of the game.

My only issue with the solutions presented is that they affect legitmate cans anchored around asteroid fields. Setting all cans to decay after a week defeats the purpose of setting up cans in the first place. What should be done instead is that after a certain amount of time of inactivity (say 3 months) a can should die. This gets rid of the spam floating around systems without adversly affecting legit cans.

Hm, I petitioned this crap over 8 months ago and the answer was that they don't cause any lag at all. Still can't believe this...
