This can be solved easily.
Remove the ribbed pattern on the bars and make them solid as they were. |

new one's ship icon is too small, i can't figure out any ships! i don't even care to see the 3 different levels of tank. just a red bar is enough ffs |

Definitely preferred the old one. Did a few missions yesterday to try it out and it left me with a headache. Way too much clutter on-screen, and the circular targets are hard to read. The damage notifications are also pretty annoying, speeding past in the middle of the screen. All in all - it looks like aesthetics won out over functionality, and that makes me a sad space anarchist. |

Frogsnail Toast wrote:I liked the first iteration of the circle targets that everyone bitched about because they couldn't tell what was shield/armor/structure from a static picture. Duh. The current ones are kinda ugly. Nowhere near as slick as the original circle indicator.
This ^ and if not this I prefer the original old ones they may not look as pretty but they are easier on the eyes and therefore more functional.
A friend of mine prefers the new style though so I do appreciate CCP that is not always easy to please everyone. Dear Santa, all I would like for-áChristmas 2013-áare some snowballs and something to fire them from please, thank you. |

Echoing the OP, it looked fine from the devblog but after seeing it on TQ for the first time, it certainly needs a bit more work to bring out the clarity. The old target bars were clearly defined, this new bar looks muddled.
Someone suggested the ribbing to be removed - I'd tentatively agree if it does bring out some clarity. Those shield/armor/hull bars also need to be both thicker and thearc length be brought down to no more than 180 degree.

"bring back the old x" demand doesn't work well with CCP unless all of eve cries.
this is very annoying, and it's not something you can get used to, because on high resolutions, it is simply too small to figure out what's going on in a time sensitive situation like pvp engagements. |

the people who like are the ones who take their time to inspect it, it's shiny, but it's completely impractical for fast pvp engagements, and that's all I care about. there must be some better midway than this atrocity. |

I love the new change i can see why people "preference" the old one. But thats a small details in the new "look". Perhaps the will increase the details in some patch later. For the rest new look win over the old look, about details the old look for now. |

I like the new one. Can actually get much finer detail on shield states / regen. |

No issues to report here. Old, new, makes no difference to me
Multimonitor baby and I only run one client on it.
Honestly, though, I think there are just a lot of people who don't like change, so I'll throw in my support for the new system just to spite them You don't scare me. I've been to Jita. |

THANK YOU!
I see a profound lack of feedback and corporate memory as the main problems in the last few player revolts.
The Exalted are only listening to Marketing, and nobody is playing the game, themselves.
As in, they didn't experience or learn from the weapons icons nobody could see, and now they proffer ship icons nobody can see.
My impression, which you captured, too, is that these 'improvements' look good in the marketing spewed to a bunch of teenagers who watch too many space cowboy shoot'em ups, but the reality is they are a step backwards in game play. |

I am giving the new UI a chance so that I get around my natural aversion to change. However, my first impression is "cluttered". especially the big scrolling message box in the middle. I will have to look to see if I can move it. Haven't tried that yet but I will this afternoon. It seems like that would be a good thing to put in a window and let players move around rather than putting it smack in the middle of the screen. |
