I did similar many, many years ago but went down the army path. Just make sure that you get a clear accelerated promotion path to reward you for the time that you have invested in getting the qualifications that they are going to benefit from

My wife used to treat addicts, amongst others, and she'd always comment that the worst form of addiction was alcohol. Coming off that is far, far more dangerous and damaging than the H stuff.

Funny thing though, I get bored with WoW easily and what I like about Eve is there really is something to do for us casual players (read as Husband and father of a 5 month old daughter). I mainly mine on my main and once this guy is trained will transfer him to the other account and have a mission runner/pirate. Again, totally casual. I couldn't really do that in WoW or else I'd fall behind in gear from the rest of the Guild.

I just walked the line tonight with a degree in design and drafting and I feel your pain with GD&T. I'm hoping with this I'll get into a mechanical field myself real soon and I already have plans to go back in a year and work on Project Management.

I know very good developers and techies who, for example, now own tourist attractions, become teachers, have become professional storytellers, game designers. But soon or later the new computer scientist look around their workplace and wonder where the old computer scientists have gone.

A lot of garages are hopeless at electrical diagnostics, and just start replacing random parts if they're not sure, and give up after you've blown a load of money.
