Hey guys... I've been playing on & off for the past few years, i usually last around 2 months, but then find i have to quit due to my crippling security status, it's only -2.0 but as an eve noob i'm finding it very difficult to get around. I was part of a PVP group who were podkilling some time ago, i've tried to do missions in order to improve my sec status, i did around 10 missions in a row at some point, it dropped by 0.1.
I work 2 jobs & have 2 kids so don't have a lot of time to play, i'm what you would call a casual player who's main interest is running missions & market trading, i wanted to try some PVP some time ago, but now i feel i am still being punished for it... This is something that needs to be addressed by CCP, it makes the game unplayable for me, i've just re-subbed with the 6.99 for 30 days offer after another 12 month break, game is installing right now, but i'm already having doubts about how far i will get with it...
Is there any way i can get this sec status reset, i've toyed with the idea of starting a new account and did try but i have 8 mil SP on this character and don't fancy starting another and going through it again...
Thanks ... G! |

go to lowsec, get on -10, and forget highsec. oh for that ppl need balls, not just killing traveller industrials on gatecamps? thats not pvp. if u are busy and want casual pvp get in RvB, go to nullsec or declare war. none of them make ur sec stat worst and -2 is not so bad. with some belt ratting u can work it back quite quick... |

Search on the wiki for how to sec grind, it's not that hard. At -2.0 you can go into high sec I believe, just not the highest security systems. |

I think he is...
There's no way that we know that you can get your sec status reset. CCP has always responded with "live with the consequences".
At -2 you just have to avoid 1.0 systems; you should be able to enter 0.9 systems just fine.
You only need to grind very little, to bring it to -1.9, and you can enter 1.0 systems too. The way to grind, though, isn't to do missions; you need to kill the biggest rat you can find, one per solar system per 20 minutes. The lower sec, the better, but basically kill rat, roam, repeat.
EDIT: if you just hate your non-perfect character, sell it on the character bazaar and start again. Although, even a new character won't be perfect once people start setting random bounties on you. |

Forget it... I've done the research, ppl say go to 0.0 and kill rats, get your sec status back in no time.. Let me just quickly explain what'll happen when i log back in, i'll have little to no isk left, i can fly BS's & use Tech 2 weapons, but my defense skills are crap, i can't get to 0.0, i always get killed trying to get there by some gay camp, we're not all great at this game... If that is the case with CCP's "Live with it" policy then i guess i am pretty much screwed...
Oh well, back to the boredom of Anno 2070 in 30 days...

Nice try chewie, but no, they wont just let you buy back your sec.
Why don't you go post in the feedback thread, instead of trying to pull this obvious crap?
I'll give it a small thumbs up for the casual podkilling station-trader persona tho |

No idea if the Commander tag to Sec idea is in the crapper or not.
Still, -2.0 isn't enough to keep you out of high sec. Mission rats will bring it back to 0.0 in time as long as you keep your head down and don't shoot anyone. |

Alright..
First thing you need to do is ignore the trolls, especially when you post a forum thread and are looking for a serious answer.. On this forum that's hard to come by sadly..
You said that your low security status is giving you problems because you are a rather new player or don't know as much as you would like too.. There are several options for you but i will try to explain the best ones
1) If pirating for your kills is giving you issues then do not pirate.. Your security status will give you problems and for a newer player those problems will have a massive impact on your game play and you will find it very hard to do anything.. You can always pick it back up down the road if you would like too once you have learned more
2) You are to new and don't know enough to join a 0.0 corp and any that would accept you are either not worth joining or will pod you when they see you so don't listen to people who say to jump straight in the deep end because from what you have said you will just end up leaving the game
What i would suggest is to find a corporation that is aware of your needs.. Tell them you may not be on often, tell them you are looking for something new and tell them that you are very willing to learn.. It is very hard to solo PVP in this game these days and you will need and want friends around you.. So find some, a good corporation is out there just waiting for you and it's a hell of a lot more fun than trying to play alone..
Ask as many questions as you need to and take any opportunity to learn more
In EVE the best way to learn how to do something is to do it.. You may lose it sometimes but you will learn from your mistakes
Think about what you want to do in EVE.. This is a game after all
Find it and make sure you have fun doing it even if you can't play as much as most people
Well that's my 2 cents at least.. Best of luck

Your welcome and yeh it does take some time to reverse your security status but it's not all bad.. Just be aware of the systems that you can't go into and make plans around it for the time being.. You may even find something fun along the way
You could try ratting in a quiet lowsec perhaps thats how i got my security status up..
A few hours a day shooting NPC in lowsec belts in a small fast ship.. If you can fly an Assault Frigate that's perfect and will do enough damage to take down even the battleships and have enough transversal to survive them.. Maybe even a little fun and have your status back up in no time
Just watch D-scan and check local for any new arrivals.. Perhaps even find some easy kills during it Just remember, if they agress you first.. Your free to attack them and take no penalty, so make them agress you first..
Also you find faction spawns rather often when doing this and for a newer player can be quite lucrative not to mention bounties
Have fun

It's only a little bit of missions until your sec status is all right - it shouldn't take a month. After that, I don't think you should stop pvping. Remember that there are only minor secstatus hits from shooting spaceships (not pods) that are easily compensated for by missions or ratting, and shooting in defence or against a pirate will never harm your sec status.
Even then, you could try Red vs. Blue who can offer more casual drop in/drop out pvp in highsec with no sec hits.
But like others have said you're only a tiny bit of ratting away from 1.9 sec, and you can currently do missions nearly everywhere in highsec. If you need to, you can make a one-day Bestower hauler alt on a spare character slot to move modules from Jita or Amarr. Just make sure to check your routes that you don't go into 1.0 systems, which are fairly rare anyway. Good luck whatever you choose. |

Just doing a tutorial mission and some skill training will make that -2 -1.9 or less. Which will allow you back in 1.0 space, this can be done in a matter of hours even if that long.
I don't understand how not being able to get in a 1.0 system is crippling your gameplay. I'm not a Pirate, I'm a Terrorist.

Dark there has the right idea, put a clone in npc station, find a nice circuit of systems and shoot a bs in each. Also train criminal connections and one other skill I don't remember they will help you gain sec faster. I routinely go from -10 to 0 in a matter of days. Stop looking at it like a punishment and more like a challenge, answer to no one ,maybe get a kill or 2 who knows maybe an officer spawn:) in the time it takes to read this post you could find an af on contracts in npc 0 sec and start jumping out there. Go To it and enjoy the ever living **** outta it |

This. -2.0 ONLY takes you out of 1.0 Sec-space. You have a whole 0.5-0.9 Sec-space to play in risk free of getting blown up by the faction police. It would take you less than 1/3 of a day to get that 0.1 if you don't know what you're doing. And if you do... about 15min. |

Jesus, there is so much whine in this thread, and you just resubbed. If you're already resigned to hating your life for the next 30 days, why did you bother to resub?
As many people have stated, going from -2.0 to -1.9 isn't all that hard and you don't have to go to null to do it. FFS, you could go to a .5 mission hub, find a mission corp, and do joint work with them to get your sec up. Lestatra: Eve is now fully committed to pvp . |

Missions are horribly inefficient for grinding sec status.
I keep a jumpclone and a cloaky nullified Loki in E02 which I use whenever my sec status has dropped too low.
Kill one battleship rat per system (0.3-0.4% sec status increase) and move on to the next system. You only get one sec status increase per system per 15 minutes (which is determined by the highest bounty rat you kill), so killing more than one rat at a time is pointless.
Great Wildlands is a great region for doing this - decent market, very quiet and easy to find loops which you can run over and over...
Make sure you have Fast Talk at least at lvl IV. I'm a NPC corp alt, any argument I make is invalid. |

I will make a helpful reply. For some reason. Even though the OP seems like the type who likes to whine about non-issues. If you are scared to go to low and null, then log in to the game, undock in your noobship, proceed to the first asteroid belt. Kill one rat. Jump to the next system. Warp to the first asteroid belt. Kill a rat. Repeat until your sec status gets above -2.0. If you are really at -2.0 now this should take a matter of minutes. Problem solved. You don't even need to go to low or null, it just works faster there. Join the Revolutionary Front and liberate New Eden from it's stuff.
