Just out of curiosity, how many times have you petitioned during your time playing EVE, and generally what was it related to?
Myself, personally, about 4-5 times (during about 6 months), and for various reasons, that can't be classified with 1 category. And recieved excellent support every time, btw.

During my eve time of 17 months i have petitioned 1 time and that was 3 days ago.
Not gotten any answer yet but my hope is not high.

I petition about 2-3 times a week, not always for myself, but sometimes a confusing issue crops up and it takes a good dozen to sort it out. You never know.

once for bug with my secure cans not showing in my hanegr after I bought them, yer it was prinicipal not cost.
once for when I had just done mission that needed something collected and servers went down for unscheduled downtime, of course I got back and all the cans had gone due to server restart so had to get GM to cancel mission.
once to reset standings due to failing mission when there was that bug right after downtime and no mods would work, it was a short mission and I could not have had any hope of doing it.
once I petioned some macro miners, they never did much although the guy eventually was banned it took many people to lodge complaints over many weeks, has made itso I don't even bother submitting them for macro miner's anymore.
once I petioned a spam cam offering ebay stuff, which got removed really fast.
I know many peopl ewho tend to petion everything and they often get stuff like shipsback and stuff, myself never petioned a ship loss although probably could have.

I've petitioned 4 or 5 times for getting stuck (all in the last week) And 2-3 times for being oncorrectly killed by sentry guns. The stuck petitions were answered within minutes, and the others i just got blown off.

I have petitioned twice in the past year. Once because a noob in my corp lost his ship to concord and just logged out suddenly. I petitioned on his behalf since he shot at my ship instead of the rat. I thought Eve was bugged and didn't recognize we were in the same corp, but it turned out he also shot at someone's secure can. He ended up quitting the game. I think he thought I tricked him and got him to blow up his ship on purpose.
The 2nd time I petitioned, I was awarded a +3 implant from a mission but it didn't appear in my hanger. I spent an hour looking for it, tried relogging, clearing my cache, etc. I ended up resolving the issue before CCP even looked at it. It turns out the implant showed up in another station I had never been to.

Since March 2004 I've petitioned twice. Once for a possible exploit and once for a cosmos agent problem.

one time for a ship related issue (long time ago... cant remember exacly)
and one stuck petition... tobad he moved me one system back and not one system forward
ive seen a sweatshop indy to... maybe i should petition that to ?

But seriously, I think Ive only petitioned like twice, for bugged missions, got fixed right quick so I cant argue there.

Once since beta...
I got into a ****ing contest with a GM who tried to justify the bogus T2 lottery and the Homeless mission bullcrap...
Actually 3 or 4 GM's ganged up on me in total. Last petition I ever sent in...
(oh, maybe a couple stuck petitions b4 that one, very early on after release...)

2 years 1 month, 5 stuck petitions in total. All resolved in less than 15 minutes.
it would have been 4 petitions actually, but in my early years I got stick in between jumps, was moved back a system then went through the jump gate again not knowing I had to wait until DT.

once when i reported a gate bug that killed me but i didnt request ship replacement, second time when the same gate bug killed me and i did request replacement, and a third that i made one week ago wich still hasnt been answered.

not many times, reported cpl of bugs and exploit, GM's have moved me cpl of times when got stuck, usualy dont have any major issues with eve.

uuuuhhh.
If you count stuck, then alot, like 5 stuck petitions a day when the game went live.
Otherwise...
Like 3 exploits petitions (1 acted on, 2 that got so common so they had to call it a 'tactic')
1 ship loss due to bug.
1 back in the day when an agent mission set my standings from +10 to +2
1 about loosing sec status when fighting in fd-mlj
And maybe 4-5 other bug reports.
Soon...

Ive petitioned probably 20 times in 24 months. When I got stuck, they moved me...When I lost ships and implants to bugs, they laughed at me.
had good service 15-20% of the time.
I would also like to add that ive lost at least 2 billion in various things due to bugs with 0 replacements. They don't like me, lots of people seem to get stuff back.

I have petitioned once in one year, and even then i cancelled it because the problem sorted itself out. Eve is has always been fairly stable and bug-free for me.

i've petitioned quite a few times..
First for losing my destroyer in a mission. I tried to warp out and my ship just sat there. Not like i cared about a destroyer, but still..
then the same thing happened to a battlecruiser, this was right afer complexes and they were bugged to all hell. I swore I would stop doing them. they gave both ships back
Then I tried a small complex in a coercer. I had spent quite a while training for amarr, setting this ship up properly, etc. I was going to have fun in that damn ship.. went to a complex and was owning the hell out of everything, then the whole game froze (lag, not lockup) and I couldn't do anything. I petitioned and *****ed at the GMs "I don't want my ship back but please fix complexes damnit" they never responded but my coercer showed up in one of my stations later. It wasn't that I couldn't afford it but I had spent all day setting it up and it just got blown up the first time I tried to use it by no fault of mine.
They eventually fixed complexes.. I can do em' all day now with no problem.
The first ship I petitioned was a Scorpion. I was fighting some BSs and was dying, so I logged out. Then like 30mins later logged back in and my scorp was OK, I didn't realize what time it was and the servers went down when my scorp was warping back to the NPCs. No clue how it happened but my scorp blew up.. I petitioned and they told me "too bad, you should have known". I guess now that I think back on it it definitely was my fault.
I petitioned twice for GMs to help take down my POS when we had trouble with crystals getting stuck in laser sentries. We were at war and I didn't wanna lose my POS, they wasted no time helping us out.
I petitioned once for a mission I couldn't finish.. it was for the elections. My corp was so excited so we all went to one agent who then told us to build some statues or something.. so my whole corp had this mission that we couldn't finish :\ we petitioned and all was good.
I fought some mercs in my BC and died.. no big deal, it was my fault (though I think I put up a hell of a fight). Anyways, my pod ejected and I warped out, logged out in midwarp (I loved that ship, it was a hard loss. Though I knew it was my fault and my fault alone). Later I logged in to make sure my POD was OK and to see if I had insurance payout, my pod was fine.. I logged out before my pod warped off. The next day when I had time to play I got into the game and I was inside a station.. apparently my pod had warped back to the camped gate and sat there while it was killed. I lost all my implants and 1 1/2years of being able to say "I've never been podded!" They wouldn't give me my stuff back.. that sucked really bad and I ended up quitting over it for 2 months. :\
those are all the times I petitioned. A few were stupid and probably wasted the GM's time but it was the principle of it. The complex thing, I was just losing destroyers.. but damn, I put a lot of work into those little ships.

Maybe 4 or 5 stuck petitions over the last year, plus another after being podded due to - shall we say - circumstances beyond my control?  That one took over a week to be answered, but my gear was eventually returned. \o/

excluding stucks, I think I'm at 6 or 8. I started playing in March of '04
