IMO, eve-kills rankings really doesnt show skills, it shows who is most active or most interested in PVP. Though, being top 20-30 or whatever shows your a good PVPer (just cos you kill lots and must have lots of experience). But, im sure if BoB used the killboard they would have alot in the top 30.

0verkill	Posted - 2005.07.13 18:29:00 - [28] Kills are not everything sure its easy to gank ships, but fighing against uneven odds is what i think is required by the top pvp'ers. I would say most of the old m0o guys would be on my top 10. They not only were good in the combat situation but came up with good strategees and great setups, most of which have made the game what it is now. There are others including most of the great combat leaders in BOB, and some of the people I have flown with in curse and against in other areas, but I think eve is dominated by group play now so its alot harder to see one person above others as its how you work as a team that means the most. 0verkill Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean we aren't out to get you.

Yet Brigitte and Zincoln alone combine for 208k points. If you wanna use a killboard to show how ³ber you are then you better use a killboard with a decent point system. Fine then lets look at the numbers over on Eve Extra which gives points based on how many were involved in the kill as you say. Brigitte # 1 Zincol # 2 MegaJ # 4 Secondly SAS has only 161k kill points as it has only been a corp for 4 months. Brigitte and Zincol have more points than the whole corp as you are correct as they were in different corps before SAS. He had more kills in the damn thing and just did scary ass damage with it. 2.) Sassinak- I think he still has the most sp in gunnery of any character known in Eve.He just knows his stuff and is creative as heck.As good as TWD,Sassinak and Stav were the only two m0o members I feared fighting (Omni and Viceroy make me laugh and Digi I just can't help but love due to the fact he can articulate alot of the opinions I have about balancing and how ships should work) . 3.Hamatitio- Very very adept support ship pilot tho from what I hear he got pwned in a Deimos in 4 seconds by a Munin a week ago so thats a shaky nomination. 4.) Phonix-If you have heard this name your a noob,If you haven't fought him you haven't lived. I think he epitomises the perfect balance of a FC and PVPer. When he attacks he sees instinctively how his enemy MUST react after they lose any given ship and exploits it. That and having L.Arty Spec 5 makes him uber. 5.) SirMolle-I have only seen him fight a handful of times and the same goes for leading fleets. All I can say is,I dream of being as evil as him one day. 6.) Jexter/Fist- Ok so I have lived in the north for practically since the dawn of time and since day one I have ALWAYS believed that Fist was Jexters alt and Jexter just used two computers. They are so synchronised in movements that its scary.They are the bench mark for what Caldari pilots should try to be like. 7.)Drunkenmaster, I still take notes for set ups off his old movies and try and find ways to make them work. Possibly the best lone scorp pilot I can think of, to bad he left the game. 8.)Cao cao- ok so I have listed a bunch of people who have become really really good at multitasking and being able to lead fleets or be goood solo or small squad leaders but Cao Cao was just all around damn good.Knew how every ship in the game could be used on the battlefield and to what end,when every "LEET" pvper told me that griffins were useless he showed me me their strengths and flaws. I never really got to know him nearly as much as anyone in FE but he taught me ALOT by being around him. 9.) Kileak-He was a contrdiction in terms. He thought everyone was a n00b,even himself. But when he left the game he had close to 30mil sp,was a FC in MASS during its hay day,won the Amar tourney and was possibly the most seasoned Apoc pilot in the game. I still take ques from him and is the closest thing I got to a mentor. 10.) Trip- This guy lost soooo many ships during GNW its not funny. But he has a heart like a lion. I remember getting stuck with him in system and dueling back and forth for two hours both of us in scorps.He had the better bms and places to warp to,I had the better set up,no matter where he manuvered I would shut down his scorp. As for your corp, I've never fought against or with you so I have no clue about what skills you have. So, I can't have an opinion about how good you are. What about being able to use the scanner to find a good range to warp onto a target and therefore nullifying his "better" skills by landing right in your optimal. the seconds lost changing ammo for the other guy might be fatal. True enough but I basically see these threads as a covert way to tell people which corps you might see gate camping and which corps you see gate camping and you might as well Dock,SS or log,cuz your gonna die. It keeps the noobs informed. Which by looking at the original posters corp history they are either an Alt or a complete n00b soooooooo.....either way they get informed. Now these threads aren't so bad if people act mature and list people they personally feel are GOOD pvpers. No one has been able to make one of these threads work cuz simply put pvp has sooooo many different aspects that you can excel in one thing but be looked upon as the galaxies largest n00b and carebear in another aspect of pvp. Example: In a raven I probably am in the top 10 of raven pilots (well at least when I have the isk), but put me in a Scorp and I am an utter n00b. What I am trying to say is that the criteria for what makes a good pvper must be established befor one can make a Top 10 pvper thread. Imo what makes a good pvper/FC is simple -sp -set up creativity -Patience -knowledge of ones ship and its limits -knowledge of tactics and general military Philosophy -knows the importance of communication -has specialised in a said ship or race -knows how to calculate the movements of his enemy so they do what HE wants them to -Prefers to work in teams as opposed to working solo,tho can do solo if needed. -knows how to use his scanner and scan probes -And finally knows how to take a seeming tactical disadvantage and turn it into and overwhelming advantage. If this sounds more like being a fc then being a pvper then to a point you are right. But in these times to be an effective pvper one needs to work in teams so taking that into account you must think instead about what you do first but what your enemy will do and how you can prod and poke them into doing something stupid. PVP is a staring contest and he who blinks first loses. If your fighting a well organised group you MUST know that when you make the first mistake no matter how small it will cost you your ship. What made m0o so great was that in its hay day it encompassed alot of these things as did SPVD. And now some of the best FC's and squadron commanders these days are Old School m0o and those that they taught have gone onto be in top positions in many corps and alliances through out Eve. So in my personal book I rank m0o and those who stood either next to them or successfully went toe to toe with them as being "l33t" because in my mind a true "1337" pvper makes a team and then makes the team excel and the people how should be listed here go off of my criteria,but then again this is just my opinion. TWD atleast used to be pretty good in the oversized maller, both at killing, tackling and finding hostiles. But he was nerfed over half a year ago now

His drones alone could take down my geddon. Dont get me wrong its not a completly skiless game, but its all about team work and skillpoints - solo killers are imho up agaisnt the elements the most, i enjoy solo work myself got pretty good at it- and i never once used a lame Alt spy to check certain systems, made my heart jump everytime i jumped in2 PF-346 blind going only by the map - been killed a number of times doin that. Im personally a massive fan of frigates i was never a good bs pilot, then again i dont have the right lvl 5's to be as "good" as some of the players mentioned here. --------------------------------------------------------

With Taz/Tax as backup they've claimed a few pods of "the unpoddable", and they know who they are. 2 more I must mention for completely different reasons. Squirrel- Ace of a pilot since retail, his skills as a pilot are almost as good as his smack talk. Eitherway he's proven to be a dangerous person behind any ship in game. Another is the real EVE kitty with Lasers... Katt- Not as active as many others noted but hardly a loss under her belt and the sheer amazing fact she can be outnumbered 4 to 1 and walk away with 3 kills and still be in a non pvp setup. You know who Katt is you know its true and those that don't will never hear the name cause she just doesn't flaunt her skills. It the quiet ones you really need to watch out for.

In no particular order. 1.Anister-OMGWTFBBQER more times than i can remember. And is a damn good inty pilot. 2.Thor-once he's drunk there is no stopping him. He'll take on 6vs1 in a inty and kill more than half. 3.Lorth- if he's in a tempest or a HAC run there is no point in engaging. 4. EL titan- Eve is this guys life and it shows a good pilot. A good FC when we made a few runs through FIX space. Props to FIX for the good few skirmishes 5.Siim- this guy hates teamspeak but loves pvp. A damn good pilot the days of old are long missed my friend. 6.Obiwand-very cool calm and collected only flown with him a few times not a guy to mess with. No smack in local from this guy. 7. ***enBabe-a incredible pilot and is a killmail stealer. No wonder Black Reign is small with this babe on your team u need no more. 8.Gift-this guy has killed me more times than i can count. I don't approve of his tactics but none the less a very good pilot. You will never see him in anything other than a geddon. 9.DrunkenOne-give this guy an inty and he can do incredible things undoubtedly the best inty pilot i've seen yet. 10.Mark A- for the simple fact that he was always in Curse space. His corp may not have been but he was holdin it down. Always looks for a fight. Props man Well theres my opinion. Further proof: According to Eve-Extra, Brigette has taken part in 11 BS kills since the 10th of this month (going further back is harder due to the unfinished interface). Taking a Top .5. pilot such as hellspawn we can see DOUBLE that number of BS kills in the same time period (and a lot more smaller kills too). Same goes for a Top BoB pilot eg: Alasse Cuthalion with around 30 BS kills in the same period. Kills are indicitive of skill but they arnt as straightforward an indicator as you would think

And now some of the best FC's and squadron commanders these days are Old School m0o and those that they taught have gone onto be in top positions in many corps and alliances through out Eve. So in my personal book I rank m0o and those who stood either next to them or successfully went toe to toe with them as being "l33t" because in my mind a true "1337" pvper makes a team and then makes the team excel and the people how should be listed here go off of my criteria,but then again this is just my opinion. Lucian I agree. Although I am in a leadership possition currently, my pilots (mostly Ex m0o) are the real blood and brains of the corp. Without constant innovation my fleet command would be lost and utterly boring. These players were more creative than any in EvE from the get go, and continue to be some of the finest players to ever pilot ships in this virtual world. While I agree that some solo pvpers are better than others, I've seen some of the best in my time, what makes someone cringe when you come into local isn't your name, it's the name you and your corp have built up for you. mOo was synonymous with terror because pilots were elite and you knew that anyone wearing that tag was proven it did not matter if you had heard of them or not. I can only hope that my corp will make the same kind of mark in the near future.

Lukec as an interceptor pilot more on his dedication to patrol the spacelanes over actual action but to solo BSs and survive in an interceptor is impressive. They're all PA members but I dont have thorough knowledge of other pilots who are going to hit that list. People i've engaged have been killed so they're not better than me and i'm by a VERY long way off the top 10 and lucky if i hit top 100. People who have defeated me have been in fleet battles where its more luck that i've been called primary. In that case i call the Evol corp, KIA and NSN as great guys for their fleet actions judging by their results as whole entities.

As gang leaders they're both exellent, and as individual players they're even better. For what I've seen of the replies to Zand's post, you flamed Zincol and Brigitte only because the fact Zand used eve-kills as evidence, not because you've been at the end of their guns or had the opportunity to fly with them. Personally, I believe it's impossible to compose a top 10 pvper list that even is the slightest accurate because you need to fly with all pvp'ers to actually get a decent overview of what a pvp'er actually is. Only wanted to say that saying someone isn't a good pvp'er because someone suggested they were because they had the most kills is just as pointless as saying that "I think everyone but me sucks as pvp" when this person might never have left the asteriod fields of Yulai. "It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes."

The first fight was Stiletto vs Crow, I fired defenders from my rocket launcher and killed you with 250s. The second was Claw vs Raptor, you died in <6 seconds from 250s. The people that can do that, are the best pvpers in the game.

In such a case, I'd advise running from Eyeshadow, Sivona, Generatorn or Emelie because they are uber and will *$#% you up. - We're outnumbered! That simplifies the problem!

I mean, as TWD said, know the modules and predict what your opponent has fitted from how hes acting/what ship hes in then you have a high chance of success. Like if your flying along in a hac trying to gank people in hostile space, you see a domi npcing in a belt, well hes obviously got npc setup on go gank him. Or has he? He could just be sitting in the belt with 5 nos making you think hes npcing. So study him for 5 mins, if he stops in the same belt with no rats then hes obviously not npcing. Or Just **** about at 19 km from him, prey he hasnt got officer named nos's/scrambles :P. As i said, easy stuff. If your guna kill him, you dont really need to control your ship much. Tackling is probly the only slightly hard thing in the game, and even thats relativly easy. Its nothing like playing starcraft or warcraft where its relativly fast paced and you actaully have to micromanage every unit to be the best. Not that you can really compare eve with those games. But they are all about strategy :P. If you have a bad judgement you will die. If your TOO greedy you will die. Sometimes after killing however many ships you can get a little excited, to greedy and end up getting yourself killed :).

I fly ceptors most of the time for pvp and now with the missle patch it makes it so most people can fly a ceptor effectively instead of it being an actuall skill. O well i cans till beat them 1v1.
