My ideal ship would be a "Moon Raker", not from the James Bond movie. The ship will be the size of NPC station and capable of mining a moon to nothing in a single dayVery Happy.

a. 200 Strip miner II's
b. 6 detachable barges with cargo holds of about 1,000,000m3 that will fly back to the station you designate.
c. Able to carry 300 mining drones, too bad you can only use 15 at a time Sad.

weapon fitting potential??? well... with the surface area of a sphere many hundreds of thousands of miles across, I'll let you all here conjure figures on just how many weapons you could fit...

weapon bonuses??? we don't need no stinking bonuses, it would have omni-directional fire with tens of thousands of mounts of every weapon imagineable... who needs to fire fast or even accurately when the entire firing horizon is literally set ablaze with hellfire from a single volley Very Happy

not to mention it would have a gravitational wake able to disrupt entire solarsystems with ease, so anything "smaller than it" which is pretty much EVERYTHING would be buffeted to oblivion should it have the desire to even shrug in its general direction.

GEEK ALERT!!! nah just jk, tho i do love that episode of the next generation Very Happy the one where they find scotty in a transporter crashed on the sphere built around a star.

hmmmm my favourite ship would have to be the defiant from ds9.

or an computer game one would be The Colossus from freespace 2, i was sooooo gutted when that ship went down to the shivans

PS Please bring a FS3 out!!

Also the Hilgarian BattleCruiser from Homeworld 2 is purtty too. Vagr's BC too.

soo many ships i like ugh

Captain Harlocke's ship from Arcadia

SDF-1 or SDF-3 (or the mini SDF-3 task ships, and the Ikazuchi Command Carriers)

Hiigaren Battlecruiser

and last but not least...

The Battleships from the Gunbuster anime movies. The lens on the laser batteries were like 10 - 20 feet in diameter.

Bah too many people seem to be going for ginormous sized ships. What about the Ebon Hawk? The millenium Falcon? The winnebego from spaceballs? Serenity? Ditch the allure of overwhelming firepower to trump all and go with style. At least all the affore mentioned ships have undeniable personaility garnered not just from the shows the herald from, but how they behaved.

Tempermental buckets of bolts that always managed to scrap by taking care of crew and cargo, only full falling apart when it was safe to do so. Then add some duct tape, paper clips, chewing gum and outright cheek and they'd be good as new and ready to carry on with thier crew regailing all about the dependability of these might ships. Gimme that, a ship with character and style.

Now on to topic: my dream ship. Hmmm... any the above are good but I would have to say my all time favorite ship is... well of the above I'd say Serenity because I just love the design. Big enigines, glowing butt, hmm... sounds feminine too. Annnnnnyyyyywwwwaaayyyyyy.

If I was to make one up though hmm.... for a base hull (since i can't really draw on on the boards) I'd chose the copperhead from FF: sprits within, which is the drop ship they used with the kind of spindly appearence.

Make it three times the size, capable of 7.0 au speeds and speeds of 400 m/s without help. Two turents mounted on each pod, and have them look like turrents, not guns on sticks, one below the Bridge (which I only say because the orther name for a pilots place in a ship/plane/whathave you gets censored? C'mon CCP we're adults and promise not to giggle when we read such common words, honest!), one on the ridge of the back and two side mounted on the tail for 4 hardpoints total.

Tack on 5 lows, 3 mids and make it an elite frig. Have the engine pods move as she turns, banks, etc.. to reflect them pushing her in the given direction. Get the turrents to eject shells and recoil when firing too.

Color it a Black trimmed in pale blue (like the color in the inards ofthe jupiter two from the lost in space movie which was a nice design as well) with a faint blue or perhaps orage light used to show the windows or marker lights. The exhaust should be a brilliant blue with no trails at all unless the AB or MWD is humming. Call her the Hades. yeah, that'd do.
