Well my dream ship would be one of these:

Peacekeeper Command Carrier:
Who needs lots of guns when you have 2 flak cannons with about 100000mm caliber and 2 million people to man cepters, bombers and point def guns?
Empeorer Staliks imperial dreadnought:
Not only is it very cool but it has some very nice missiles that can destroy the better parts of plants?
Jothis stealth frig:
No 3km rule here. Just sit on top of them and if you get in trouble you can cripple a bs with a few shots.

...

I would give my left hand to be able to drive the Imperium 'Ultra' Class Star Destroyer, that is one of the coolest ship design I've seen :D

Imperium 'Ultra' Class Star Destroyer

those little "dots" you see, those are normal ISD's, and there are the other SSD's there as well ^^

this thing, will use Dreads as drones :D

other than that, a simple Eclipse SSD would be enough :)

Funny I preferred the carrier from hw2 to the battlecruiser. I was disappointed that they didn't put the assault frigate into hw2 Crying or Very sad I liked it much more than the 'torpedo' frigates which imo was balls.

Liberator for teh win.

Imperial traders from Elite II looked a bit like liberator.

Linkage

And, for the record, you COULD fit a new drive in an imp trader. you just had to crash it gently into a station until you managed to destroy the drive. Then you could fit a bigger one (but it couldnt carry enough fuel)

Personally I'd like a crow with +1 missile hardpoint, +1 midslot. 1k Shields and assault resists (including EM dammit) it'd also have a base speed of 700m/s.

It'd also pwn long range snipers, just by looking at them.

power??? only a star! no need for capacitor limitations here, the real thing would be how much juice could it pump into a laser beam to fry a target on the other side of the galaxy...

weapon fitting potential??? well... with the surface area of a sphere many hundreds of thousands of miles across, I'll let you all here conjure figures on just how many weapons you could fit...

weapon bonuses??? we don't need no stinking bonuses, it would have omni-directional fire with tens of thousands of mounts of every weapon imagineable... who needs to fire fast or even accurately when the entire firing horizon is literally set ablaze with hellfire from a single volley Very Happy

not to mention it would have a gravitational wake able to disrupt entire solarsystems with ease, so anything "smaller than it" which is pretty much EVERYTHING would be buffeted to oblivion should it have the desire to even shrug in its general direction.

Only one problem, dyson spheres arn't ships, they are more like stations. But if you COULD find a way to move one, I think this would pretty much be the I win button of doom ship.

Course, building one should take 1 year of game time, cost the combined resources of each alliance in the game over 300 members for 6 months.

But the stats would be worth it! :)

There's always the Ringworld, it can move and would probably defeat every ship here on firepower (and that includes the Deathstar's pathetic weapon systems). Basically it turns the G2 star it revolves around into a massive focused plasma cannon.
