one thing about recruitment that i'd love to see, would be that i can invite people to join the fantastic world behind the eve gate, by mail, by link or whatever,
and they will be placed in the newbie corp of my alliance. (and that would be enough of a reward to me) 3rdPartyEve.net - your catalogue for 3rd party applications |

This intrigues me. Can you explain yourself a little better?

Whoever is responsible for this is probably going to have a lot of beers from E-UNI recruiters at FanFest...
An automated/custom rejection mail would be good too, as the current one is "WE DON'T LIKE YOU. REJECTED!", but I'll settle for this. For now. :)
How does this interact with DUST? I assume the next DUST release will have its version of Apply>Accept>Mail>Join also, or will it stay with the current mechanics? Kelduum Revaan CEO, EVE University |

I like it! There are some definite technical hurdles we might have to look into but in general I like the idea. |

Any member of Pony Express will gladly share a drink with all those willing and able during Fanfest!
Allowing editing of the other mails sent out should not pose any serious problems. Will bring it up with the team.
As for DUST, it will stay with the current mechanics. I am not aware of any pending changes to that. |

Awesome stuff! I have few suggestions. Can we get a email added for when a applicant applies to the corp? That way corps can provide additional instructions upon applying to the corp (i.e. sign up for corp forums, where to send the API keys to, install teamspeak, etc...). |

Good stuff. Anything that make recruiters and directors lives a little easier is worth hundreds of times the hours spent coding it.
And Fear, I'm sorry that someone decided to release your blog 3 hours after the epic skill change juggernaut. I feel like these great changes aren't going to get the attention they deserve. |

No, DUST characters will follow the old scheme of things so that once you accept the application they're yoinked into your corp. And then if I don't fix the defect I have they'll never be able to apply to it again if they ever leave it. But I plan on fixing that so don't worry. But whether or not DUST will move to this system in their next client update is unknown and not for Team Pony Express to decide.
As for the "Rejected Application" notification we reworked that a bit. It now contains more things such as politeness and less of all caps words with negative connotations.
I don't want to promise anything about any other sort of automatic mails, but you can always leave instructions in your fancypants recruitment ads. Recruitment ads are great! Everybody should have at least three! Teen! Threeteen! I made that number up. FANCY!
As for FanFest promises of sweet, sweet libations I will of course gladly accept. It will perhaps numb some of the painful memories associated with learning to work our UI framework for more than a spreadsheet and a button. But I have CCP Karkur sitting a meter away from me so that all worked out in the end. So it was really a team effort to get this done while keeping me from going postal. So they all deserve liquid gratitude! And I believe CCP Fear prefers champagne @CCP_PrismX EVE Database Developer and Expert Ranter Member of Team Pony Express |

Excellent changes. Especially the welcome mail - please, as mentioned above, look into making the other mails editable too... (Rejection/Kicked)
A looong time ago, another account of mine was a recruitment officer at EVE-Uni, and another major frustration was trying to clear-out the backlog of applicants that hadn't actually attended their interviews. We had to go through several hundred old applications from months past and reject them one-by-one... It was soul destroying work.
Can you make it possible to select (and reject, etc.) multiple applications in one go...? It's been a while since I had to do this, so if that's been fixed recently I apologise... |

What I think would be nice is the ability to have two mails or two mail sections.
One is the standard acceptance/rejection mail; "We live in this station in this system and you should sign up to forums [here] and join TS server [here]", but also have a personalized mail along the lines of "We heard from [person] that you have lots of skills in using logi ships and would like for you to talk to [person] about getting in on our fleets".
That way I can keep a chunk standard for everyone we bring in but I can give the personalized touch for people that have special referrals or roles that they will be dropped into.
Maybe we could even have 3 sections? Standard corp-wide stuff, a role based one, and a personal one.
Standard: "Home station is [here], TS is [here]" Role, PVPer/Logi: Fleet doctrine is armor tanking with mainly amarrian ships, check corporate fittings to see our standard combat and logi fits. Personal: I heard you have a carrier that needs moving up, talk to [person] about getting cyno out here.
And on that note it would be awesome if you could pre-assign a title or set of roles to a person upon joining so that they automatically can gain access to certain hangers and such. I could automatically have all new pilots be assigned a newbie role with query rights on all hangers and access rights on none of them with their "base" being set to our HQ.
It sucks recruiting half a dozen people as a group at once and then having to remember at some point to go find them in the corp member list to assign their roles.
Along the lines of what Peter Powers was talking about I think it would be awesome if we could create referral links. Exactly like how the EVE buddy system works but in-game. It would tell the person reviewing the application that [character] referred this person to the corp. If we're in an alliance we should be able to refer them to a corp in the alliance besides our own so that Peter could refer newbs to a newb training corp.
And can we PLEASE get some more concrete ways to verify roles have been updated properly? Our problem is doing **** like: "Okay how bout now?" "Nope" "Open and close the window?" "Nope" "undock and redock?" "Nope" "Try a relog?" "Okay I can get to the hanger now..."

Without working at CCP and knowing the internal structure that sounds like it's a similar issue to adjusting Active Directory group access permissions. Sometimes they just work the second you click 'OK', other times you have to wait up to 15 minutes. And sometimes the user has to log out so that the permissions to access some file/folder/drive are refreshed properly.
TLDR: It's just how the system works, deal with it. |

Can you actually make it harder? Who wants a system that is easy to understand and use? I will tell you who, n00bs and people with very little time on their hands. Neither of them should be playing this game! That is why things should be more confusing and harder. It will prevent them from joining and sticking around. Here's to bad UX keeping them off our lawn! |

And it would be unreasonable, if not impossible, to have a little notification pop up that says, "you have been assigned role X. It may take 10 or 15 minutes (or logging off and on, or whatever) before the new role takes effect."
It's much more fun to play guess-what-I'm-thinking with permissions systems, right? Malcanis for CSM 8 |

Currently it will just sit there. But I think this is something we need to address in some fashion. I will bring it up with the team. |

Pinky Currently the application will wait for the player to accept or withdraw it. But I think this is something we need to address in some fashion. I will bring it up with the team.
I suppose it would be best if the corp can always set it to rejected, even after accepting it. Actually, both sides should be able to switch between the states back and forth until at some point both have accepted it. Or? |

Oh yeah good idea, the app should totally fall through after a set time to prevent them from coming back and hopping in when you accepted them and forgot about them long ago...
Dersen Lowery that's exactly what I'm talking about! Have like a notification pop up in your mail system that lists when and which roles you gained or lost.
And of course they wouldn't pop up until the roles actually took effect. The Drake is a Lie |

Now all we need is a way for Recruiters to send an invitation to players, which can hold the same information as an Application, and the Recruitment System would be good. Hell, if your Corp/Alliance requires an API-check, just write that in the invitation. There's no actual reason not to let corps extend invitations to people. If people don't want to use it, that's their choice. But letting us who'd use it get this feature would be appreciated by smaller corps trying to establish themselves in their region. |
