I vote BUST.
The first thing I noticed about these new, "improved" stations is that people warping to 15km (standard docking range) of the station from opposite directions, arrive like, 100km apart. This is not good at all, because now it's nearly impossible to interdict a station unless you literally surround the whole thing with ships. Someone wanting to flee into a station is now far more likely to make it, as even an interceptor won't catch them on the inbound unless they happen to be right where the target arrives. Even if it's slow, getting around the bloody station can sometimes take too long.
It's also a lot easier to re-dock with this giant new station size. In the past week, giant stations have robbed me of many screaming, laser-ravaged corpses. I know Dreadnoughts are big and that's probably why you made stations big to match, but please reconsider this new Star Jones-izing of station models.
Please, think of the griefers.

I agree.
As well as all this, if I sit in an Amarr station with a small ship, I get to see how low res the station interior textures are.
Fix. (Fix apoc skin first though) ----- [22:02] <Kurenin> anyhow, on a more serious note, what did you think of those ideas? [22:02] <Hammerhead> we can't do anything that requires programming

Gallente Station Design 2.
The undocking prongs catching everyone who undocks.
CCP, please fix this. It's worse than the tunnels on the Minmatar ones.

I did, kinda. I have a spare Zealot setup in my cargo hold now, a dual-sensor-booster heavy beam striking setup mostly meant for murdering pods trying to dock from the far side of a station. If a pod gets away from me, I have my guys sweep stations in interceptors to keep it busy while I re-equip to murder it.
Still, it's a huge pain.

GOD OR AT LEAST fix ships getting stuck on the ******* stations when undocking, its rediculous bouncing for 10 seconds while someone camping outside the station just sits there and ganks you. i was locked by a zealot and shot at (my taranis) before my warp could even activate after undock, dock with 50% structure, next time i undock and try to mwd, except my ship is so busy bouncing back and forth that i get locked and shot down before i could even start moving away from the station. you would think ccp would test this crap? honestly its rediculous to see 4 ships undocking and bouncing 5km back and forth every time : /

They really do need to fix the getting stuck on the Gallente Stations that have the undocking bay on the bottom. I get stuck on those everytime.
One thing interesting I've noticed about the new station models is that you only need one insta to be able to instadock at a station from every conceiveable point in a system.

Yeah, because they expanded the model sizes. The largest Caldari stations are now over 100km across. Zoom out and see where the sentry 'box' is in relation to it. Big difference.
I think it's because of the freighters. It was going to be stupid having freighters docking at stations smaller than the ship itself.

1st of all, its not 100km apart, only about 50, 65km in some rare cases. Anything slower than a frig with an AB will be webbed and scrambled before it is within docking range. The only horrible part is that with new agility they can warp out in the time it takes an inty to scramble them with a short range scrambler.
Alternatively, place 3-4 inties on the verticees of an imaginary pyramid surrounding the station, verticees beeing the approximate warp-in points from most of the objects in the system. Then they'll only have to travel about 10km max before they can activate scram/web.
Then, there are nanofibs, and new implants and navigation skills to help you travel faster (more inties can go above 6km/s). I'm sure you are resourceful enough to get those at some point.

What if they kept the station sizes but made them have a 15km deadspace around them, so no instaing to a station? -==- Holy-Jim> as you know, surprise is the key to victory.....surprise! LooseCannoN> ahh! LooseCannoN> my plans have been foiled! |

Yeah, let me just place my 3-4 inties per station on every station in Oursulaert.
Others brought up another point - instadock bookmarks are now flawless and work from absolutely everywhere. This entire change has been bad for pvp in general.

This has been driving me bat**** for over two weeks now.
I actually kind of appreciate the appropriately scaled stations in comparison to the ships that can dock with them (yay, they can actually hold multiple BSes now.) But the station interiors are just fugly now. Especially since they're a new player's intro to the game now, it's not a good thing for them to be that stretched.
(Besides, with the way the Gallente and Amarr interiors are designed, they're out of scale now. What, Amarrians drive cars the size of frigates? The Gallente have interior roadways as broad as a cruiser?) -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?

Station camping is only a very small aspect of the whole PvP in general, and its also lame. Alternatively, try finding targets that dont hide in Oursulaert?
Really do i have to quote myself?

Even though I like the big stations, I think the textures need an overhaul.
It just totally kills the sense of scale in the game when a window on a station is suddely as big as a whole frigate!
I think for all of Eve's good looks, scale-factors like windows in textures not matching from one item to the next is really something to avoid when trying to give a game a realistic feel.

I haven't fought anyone at a station, but i see how that could be frustrating. A fix (i don't know how though...) would be nice, and a texture upgrade is absolutly nessisary. i mean, in gal stations in a small ship, it actualy circles. Thats crap.

Actualy I like the stations. They should of been like this to start with.
They are not better or worse, just different. And now they are believeable in when 20 BS's undock from one your not left sat there thinking how the hell did they fit in there??
realism > gameplay in this case (not that i accept there is a real game play issue directly relating to thier size.)
insta dock works from any angle?? who cares tbh. Just means that instead of warping to a ss then insta dock you can just insta dock.
If someone had an instadock bookmark they are just as likely to forget to use it now as they were to warp to it before going to thier ss before the new models. So any claims that it affects pvp doesnt really hold out imho.
Now bouncing around/getting stuck on stations? thats a much more important issue.

The size change is great. IThey really feel like stations now.
But as the first poster says there are problems.
However I'm thinking about other problems. Cloaks can't cloak after undocking, they have to travel about 20 to 30 km before they can cloak. S Smartbombs can't be activated, again you have to travel about 20 km to 30 km before you can activate a smartbomb.
These issues have nasty concequences when undocking from a camped station in any ship since what used to be a decent defence against drones/missiles/tacklers now can't be used anymore.

Stations are meant to be huge, now they are. Perhaps one ship shouldn't be able to interdict an undocking ship.
The getting stuck while trying to warp tho, ive had that happen, and its bloody annoying. -

Since peeps are whining about the stations I will do a little whining of my own. I know that this is an old topic but it needs refresching(sp?) from time to time.
When someone undocks from a station I think that he/she REALLY should undock and NOT be able to dock back in for atleast 1 minute. I am tired of all the "pikaboo" muppets that undocks when they know they are camped, let them selves get shot at, re-docks and begin to smack about my/our ability to kill their chicken**** ass
I think that when you press the undock button you should face whats on the outside...its a terrible world out there...now lets dance!
