One of my favorite physical acts is to drag people and then drop them. Turns out it's really enjoyable in computer games as well!
Drag and drop functionality in fleets and other nice improvements in tomorrow's Retribution 1.1 are the topic of Karkur's new dev blog.

Drag and drop in fleets is a great change, and also:
Quote:Logs in the Notifications and Log window are not cleared anymore on session change, so you can try to figure out what the hell happened when you got podded without having to find the log file for the fight

Awesome start on the fleet window!
However, i think we could use a few more "polishments". What about fleet rules (in a technical sense)?
Like specifying a squad/wing to be restricted to a certain shiptype. Being able to define the landing wing/squad? (where joining people are placed) Or connecting those thogether, like specifying a wing for battleships, a wing for logies, another wing for nothing, then BS pilots automaticly join to the BS wing, logies to the logi wing, etc.
I'd _love_ to have my fleet sorted automaticly based on member shiptype.
Maybe? Please? I can offer you a truck of cookies for this :)

Nice changes, you should also have it so if you invite someone already in a fleet that person can choose to accept the invite and switch fleets. |

This is the sort of Little Things changes we love to see, great new functionality added that just makes sense, and doesn't break/remove (at least by design :P) anything that I can see, assuming ofc we can still drill through the rclick menu if we prefer.

Similar to the green highlight for youself in fleet could you help Wing and fleet commanders identify those individuals in the wing/fleet that have leadership 5 - say highlight them in blue. This would really help in full fleets where a squad has 10 members but nobody has taken the squad commander position. You could then put someone into command immediately rather than search through the fleet composition for the squad member with the right skill. |

Awesome! One question though:
Does the fleet membership view still refresh entirely (and as a result, reset it's scroll position) when someone leaves or joins the fleet? It gets really annoying have to constantly re-scroll to the part you want to see.

In this same regard can you change it so that we are allowed to have multiple edit member screens open at once? Currently if you have one open and you hit Edit Member on another person it just ignores you. Many, MANY times have I been trying to duplicate one persons roles to an alt or another member and I have to pretty much write down their role summary.
It would be nice if I could just place the windows next to each other and go through them side-by-side. |

While you are working on the fleet interface, are there any plans to make the whole hierarchy tree selectable and therefore copyable into external applications? Currently you can only copy a single line at a time unlike directional scan and various other windows.
Also do you plan on fixing the forever bug of wing commanders not receiving the boosts from the FC position. (only passes them, doesn't get them himself)
I realize the former is probably easier to fix then the latter. |

This is a relatively small change, but a really nice one.
